It's been a godawful shit-show up to this point for sure, but this is the first time in Part Turd's run that I'm genuinely excited reading the story. Now we have stakes, the most important ingredient in storytelling, and something the story's been lacking since it started. Much of it's lack-luster nature can be credited to the lack of this particular element. Now Asa's life is at stake because Death devil and Denji are coming to kill her. At the same time )if there's a single person alive who still cares about Denji) Denji's life is at stake, because in order to survive Asa needs to weaponize him. The one who wants that is Yoshida and he'll likely help her do so.
Noting spells exciting more than hybrids + Death devil + Denji coming to kill Asa. It has stakes, betrayal, emotion, character growth and realizations (for Asa at least) and excitement.
For the first time ever I'm genuinely excited for the upcoming chapters.
