not as much as you would think. others had it much worse and more intense. another thing you'll have to consider in spook work is the willingness to work against your own ethnic group. what I mean by that is, and you'll notice different abandonment rituals in various cults and religions, is an attempt to disconnect the person from their cultural, religious, national, ethnic, and whatever other bounds they have. the same oath is taken by military when they swear to defend against foreign *and domestic* enemies, meaning soldiers shooting citizens of their own country and not causing a civil war. not easy. the same sort of requirement exists in business, religion (with the sin rituals), and government. the idea that you serve the greater mission as a component means that if the greater mission is to contribute to completely exterminating your northern european relatives, then replacing them with foreigners, then you fucking do it.
