TLOU should have been the start of a long-lasting franchise for Sony. Instead they killed it by game 2 (dos, two) which is amazing if you actually think about it. Imagine if Nintendo behaved the same way. Oh Zelda 2 didn't work out, let's just drop it and continue with Mario alone. If that was reality we wouldn't have OOT/MM, TP, SS, BOTW/TOTK and several spinoffs and they might not have featured in Smash. In a lot of ways TLOU is a lot safer as a franchise, there will always be demand for story games and zombie games, all they needed was to grow the franchise with live service/mulitplayer side component to the main games. Instead Naughty Dog changed their minds and didn't want to make a live service game and Sony just said okay. It seems like it's the top developers got too much control over Sony which shouldn't be a thing in the first place, all a top developer should be able to do tops in my opinion is ask to do whatever game they wanna make, not cancel games for no reason and changing their minds nillywilly. Someone posted this was a problem before, the previous Sony boss cancelled lots of games, 2 25 million $ games too.
