The thing is, there is nothing wrong with the bones of the character. The series would be way better if Emilia was handled better. I would love nothing more than if she was interesting and engaging and fit right alongside everyone else and the waifuwar was legit with two really viable girls and all that jazz. But she just isn't handled well and its frustrating and baffling to me that she isn't. It makes me feel like Tappei writes her on purpose as some sick joke and he's seeing how long he can string people along for.
