I like it just for the composition. Notice how the elements in each panel form a spherical shell which roughly surrounds the ground in panel #4, oriented toward the point of gravity (earth).

The author is farthest from that point (at his loftiest) when he assumes his OC has intrinsic worth only because he spent some effort on creating it.

Gradually he descends back onto earth after learning the futility of chasing fame from the mainstream's superficial content cycle. In panel #4 he's become grounded (in reality) and walks away from his vain attempts at pleasing the faceless crowd, presumably on his way to draw this very comic in humble self-acceptance.
