That's the whole point anon: God came down to reach us (1 Timothy 2:5, John 10:9, John 11:25-26) so that we don't have to deceive ourselves into thinking we can reach Him through our traditions (Mark 7:8-9, John 10:1).

Just bumping this thread to say that I was mutilated as a child, and have gotten an apology out of my mother for what it's worth.

Most importantly, I have two sons, neither have been cut nor shall they be.

I have broken this cruel cycle.
