>Robert Reynolds was a middling scientist with a severe inferiority complex who got work in AIM after being kicked out of HYDRA
>he was working on a project that was meant to transform someone into a higher being, with bits and pieces of Celestial and Eternal knowledge before a SHIELD raid
>he gets given the choice to work for them or die, so he quickly folds and is basically turned into Fury's whipping boy
>eventually manages to crack something, but instead of a proper test he tries the experiment on himself and turns into the Sentry
>he's now more confident, calm and even kind, projecting a complete makeover to the point where Fury trusts him enough to place him on the Avengers as the top gun
>secretly he harbors the Void and starts having crashouts around the globe that nobody can understand at first
It's a long arc how he goes from Avenger to a solo act, with the Void lore and all that. It'd be half his suppressed darker side, and half a connection to something else. Some tidbits before I get to the X-Men.
>Thanos is a rogue Earth Eternal who travelled to other Eternal outposts and saw life as a failure, now trying to spread as much death as possible and mock existence
>Adam Warlock was created by Maximus, this time not trying to manipulate humans, but trying to create his own Eternal
Basically around the "now" the Eternals would get into the game and start breaking mold.
>Herc was one of those children sired by an Eternal, who acted so heroically (in the Antiquity sense at least) that he was given a boost and allowed to roam the world as a hero
>due to that he's known many Sorcerer Supremes and so on, being involved in nearly everything big that went down in the world
>Namor's an Atlantean and while not a "full" mutant (Atlantis fell before Apocalypse), his father was a carrier, so he's close to Eternals in power, and is so arrogant because he thinks it's his divine duty to protect the whole world
