This is how it works. Democratic election processes are ideal environments for sociopaths to climb to power. Then they blackmail each other and lie through their teeth. It's become sheep culture to accept this as normal, the nature of politics even, when it's just the genetic nature of sociopaths. But strangely, people with Alzheimer's are filtered from political positions of power, but people with sociopathy, a brain disease that causes similarly bad decisions for the voters, make up most of the high ranking political personnel. You can either fix this by requiring medical tests, or by abolishing elections, and putting random delegates in charge for a short time, to avoid professionalism and enforce simple solutions. To give power to those affected by decisions, one could use referendum overrides for the delegate decisions. This would also counter political parties, another detrimental scheme of divide & conquer.
