It's because you don't surround yourself with kids, or at least you shouldn't. According to a recent study it's among the top 20 franchises popular with gen alpha, fans who would've been kids as FNAF was first coming out are just the most vocal (as with a lot of franchises)

this is more anecdotal but I knew FNAF was still hip the last time my younger cousin was over and wouldn't stop begging me to let him play Security Breach because he saw I had it installed
