This. If she's 'too shy' or 'not ready', she'll never be ready. Always ask for proof. That does not mean ask for nudes or anything like that (it's not bad if she's not interested in sending those), but if 'she' isn't willing to at least validate 'her' gender, that's a red flag.

Also, if she ghosts you, or keeps giving excuses and you do the right thing and ghost her, it's not the end of the world, never waste your time on a 'woman' (even a real one) who's wasting yours.
