Euros cooked him mentally and he fell out of form and lost confidence when the entire nation was shitting on him for not being a good LW. He took time off when the season started and when he came back he was slow and off it. He had a mini-purple patch when he came back in January and scored a bunch and then fell out of the team again. There have been rumours of him dealing with a persistent digestion/stomach illness he has which has reduced his energy and also one of his ankles is fucked/semi-injured. He tried to make a run for the final part of the season but he got injured against Man United and when he came back it was against Southampton when they drew 0-0. I thought he actually looked like he was back near the end of the season, but it's difficult to find the rhythm under Pep when you fall out of the team because it's difficult to get back in it and Pep doesn't like changing things when he feels he has a working system. We will see him in the Club World Cup and will determine if he's washed or back then.
