FIFA is practically giving away tickets for the Club World Cup matches because no one is buying
Why on earth would any football tournament be hosted in the USA? No one there gives a fuck about football, and the few who do are being deported.
The players are literally being barred from the tournament because of US immigration rules

my local games:
Al Ain FC (who?) vs Juventus on wednesday at 9pm (yeah thats fun, not gonna get home til midnight on a weekday oh and the subway system shuts down at midnight) cheapest ticket is 73 dollars. most expensive is 1467 (??). lot of tickets 200+

Salzburg vs Al Hilal (who gives a fuck) at 6pm on a sunday cheapest tickets 53 dollars. can get good seats on the halfway line for about 100

Wydad AC vs Al Ain FC (literally who for both i dont even know what countries they are from) Thursday at 3pm (who the fuck is gonna take off from work to watch this shit) cheapest ticket is 33 dollars good tickets halfway line are 65

The problem is not where it is hosted, but the fact that it is a Club competition, which means it has a lot less appeal than the real world cup that involves national teams.

I’m sure it’s merely a coincidence that the USA are getting the club World Cup and World Cup in the span of a year

This would be a problem in literally any country besides maybe Brazil. Only brazilians care about this tournament. Tickets would need to be given out if this was hosted in Europe too.

If they wanted people to care they should have made it a seperated competition from the OG CWC for one. Imagine if UEFA expanded the super cup into a quadrennial super champions league and the most successful teams already started with a few trophies. Trophies they got from playing one match.
