Are their clubs really that strong?
Apart from the big six+ oil clubs, I think most of them are on par with Brazilian, Argentinian and Mexican clubs.

bayern, dortmund, psg, real, barca, city, liverpool, inter are unbeatable for anyone but themselves unless they have a bad day, everything else in europe will be a balanced game against teams from brazil, mexico, argentina, japan, korea and even mls really

The average MLS team would lose a two legged playoff against a championship team, the fuck are you on about? MLS players go abroad to play in the 2. Bundes and for non big three Portuguese teams, and those are the ones good enough to get out

Which former MLS players are currently active in 2nd Bundes? I don’t know any, but I didn’t pay attention. Either way, it is respectable to play 2nd Bundes. MLS is a decent league, and the best South American leagues are stronger than MLS obviously. And both have more balance than most European leagues. That is admirable. I think the difference between weaker teams within the leagues isn’t that huge, but it is probably still fair to assume that a weaker team from a top Euro league would normally beat a team from another continent in the same position - assuming everyone actually plays all out, which is something we haven’t seen in intercontinental competition since arguably … ever. The divide at the top is massive. Either way, your leagues seem good as they are. I would kill for more balance

I'll tell you the truth here.
Most of the MLS teams have a very good technical quality, comparable without a doubt to the teams you mentioned, second and third tier in Europe and first tier in South America.
but there is one thing that holds your league back, there is no intensity at all. Most likely because there's no pressure on the teams to get a result.

Teams that I think are very difficult for the top South Americans to beat.
The biggest in the EPL, lots of money, even bad teams have money there.
Bayern, and a few others from Germany, but it depends on the moment. I think Borussia and Fluminense are a good thermometer.
Real, Barça and maybe Atletico de Madrid, Botafogo will play Atletico de Madrid but Botafogo is not even close to being one of the top teams in Brazil and is the worst team from Brazil in this championship without a doubt. I'd like to see Palmeiras come first and play them in a playoff.
Portugal, I think it's very difficult if Benfica are inspired. But there would still be a game.
Italy is the biggest unknown and I'm going to wait for Inter and River. River aren't on the same level as Palmeiras and Flamengo. I think they're on a level with Botafogo today, maybe.
And of course PSG...

???
The EPL big six includes an oil club, and RM, Barcelona, Bayern and the big Italian clubs aren't oil clubs.
>I think most of them are on par with Brazilian, Argentinian and Mexican clubs.
No. Relegation-tier EPL sides would easily compete with top Brazilian sides. Argentinian and Mexican sides would struggle in lel liga.

That's like saying Spanish teams wouldn't struggle in the EPL because RM might be able to snatch one of the UCL spots.
>>149227780
You're underestimating how tough the lower table teams are in the EPL. Palmeiras or Flamengo would lose points here and there end and up 15th or so. With a good manager on a good run maybe they could crack top 10.
Of course, this is assuming current incomes hold. Flamengo or Palmeiras would instantly become way richer if they played in the EPL, but I assume we're not taking that into account in this exercise.
