An opponent deserves a certain amount of effort. No showboating and neither extreme tryharding (most teams/athletes won’t do that anyway since they will not spend all their energy on an inferior opponent) nor absolute coddling. If my opponent basically dances around me for the entire game, it is even more humiliating than simply getting BTFO. I want my opponent to take me serious. They don’t have to give 100% like it is the CL final
