He's reading too much into it, we just love football and we love to see our teams competing and beating big teams, and Europe is the ultimate "big team" collection. This stuff we're doing against their teams we do against our own teams, so it's not a question of feeling inferior, it's just football banter.
And we'll never feel inferior regarding football because we consider ourselves to be best in the world, so it's just we want to beat their teams. And banter about it.
There's another things we suck and we feel inferior compared to the rest of the world, but football is not one of them. But europeans think they are the best the same way, so that's why we clash with them.
