Why?
Because...
Prior to this game, Goalkeepers used to stay in the penalty box. They heavily relied on their CBs and didn't need to be perfectly good at passing, tackling and not able to run for long distances, and mostly, participate in the construction of the game.
Neuer changed all of that.
He broke the conventional way of goalkeeping, changing goalkeeper into a libero/extra defender, able to tackle, participate in the passing construction scheme... Everything.
The impact of this game, many years laters, most academies ask nowadays goalkeeper to pass, tackle, not be afraid of living the penalty box, and most don't care if you can't shoot a 6 meter kick anymore if you have all the qualities above. Which indirectly had a huge impact on defense schemes, but that's for another discussion.
