Soccer needs the USA more than USA needs soccer. The money, the brands, the media exposure, the addressable market. Even if 1% of American households buy one soccer ball and a soccer shirt, the investment will have paid off. You can't be a serious financial institution and not have at least one office in London; it's the same for any kind of entertainment or sport and the United States.
