>>149518744 (OP) The real world cup will do fine. It's just that no one cares about the CWC except Brazilians

>>149518744 (OP) That would be a big surprise. 1994 had great attendance, and the sport has definitely grown in the US since then. The CWC is a newly established plastic cups many clubs treat as a lucrative preseason tournament. It cannot be compared with the World Cup, the biggest thing in the sport
>>149518744 (OP) I dont think so. Only fans of the participating clubs care about the CWC. The actual WC will of course be followed by millions of people from every nation.
>>149518744 (OP) The real world cup will get tourists from all over the world. The CWC is just a summer meme cup

>>149518744 (OP) they dont care about attentance. they set a ridiculously high price floor so they can force the sponsors to pay even more ridiculous rates for suites and other premium experiences.

>600$ tickets to watch a summer audi cup live when its streamed for free. I dont blame the burgers. If anything the attendance is impressive given those ticket prices and the fact its a friendly summer tournament.
>>149518854 >The real world cup will do fine not if you guys keep doing all those weather and cooling breaks stop with this shit idc if players die in the pitch
>>149518744 (OP) >The real world cup might not fare much better the average normie didn't know what this tournament was, when or why it was happening and a lot of them thought it was the other world cup like a day before the tournament started. it confused the consoomers
>>149518744 (OP) Maybe. Since it's so spread out. But I'm gonna be honest with you. If it wasn't for /sp/ I would not know there was a "Club World Cup" on.
I have not seen or heard a word about it outside of this place. Most people have no idea it's going on, if "their" team isn't in it they 100% haven't heard of it.
Most normal fans would consider this to be promotional/pre-season friendly mickey mouse tournament.

>>149518744 (OP) They should've just staged it in smaller soccer stadiums
>>149521068 It's like Marie Kondล, All the empty seats looked bad but of course they were expected, a packed Nashville or Metro stars field would've been kino
>>149519862 Weren't those started in the 2014 world cup?

>>149518744 (OP) No one would go to these games in other countries. Do you think Flamengo vs Ulsan would get 30k in England or Spain?
The 2000 tournament had a slightly higher average in Brazil but there's a caveat: half the games involved a Brazilian team. The games that didn't had empty stadiums

>>149521085 It would habe neem cool to play the group games at least I stadiums where clubs actually play no one plays in the rose bowl unless it's real Madrid
>>149521068 FIFA and Infantino are incapable of modesty. They are so far up their own ass that they thought this tournament would revolutionize the sport, and for that, the biggest stadiums available seemed fitting
>>149518744 (OP) Mickey Mouse cup with atrocious scheduling. >>149518857 This. You can't get 70,000 Fluminense and Inter fans in North Carolina at 15PM to watch a game between the two clubs. But you can definitely get 70,000 Brazilians and Italians (+neutrals) there for a World Cup R16 game.
>>149519087 Every parking lot in the world combined in to one big monstrosity would still only be some completely negligible percentage of the world's surface you brainlet.
