So european clubs don't give a fuck about the CWC and don't even keep track of wins there (instead counting CL wins, Domestic league victories, etc) but latinx clubs view it as the greatest victory a club can have?

I don't think i've EVER heard a RM, Man City, Liverpool,. Bayern, etc fan even MENTION it but hues have said that it's considered the greatest honor a club can have there.

The CWC rounds off the sextuple (a concept basically invented in the late 2000s), it is only talked about in Europe in that context. Barca were the first to win it, so why wouldn't they celebrate that? It's usually not about the CWC itself
Despite the consensus here being that the CL winner is the best in the world by default, it's obviously dumb to say that neither fans nor players nor managers nor club officials give a flying fuck about the CWC (I'm referring to the old and the new format here), but it basically is the first tournament to be sacrificed here (unless your country also has a league cup). Winning it is seen as a chore nowadays, and the historic value is low as well. It's a bit scummy, I think European clubs could and should care a little bit more

That's the incentive for this new format, and that's why club officials love it for the most part. Players and managers on the other hand aren't really motivated. Players know that losing means their vacation begins sooner and potentially lasts longer, and no intercontinental competition has the prestige of the CL anyway, so the entire thing doesn't work as a season saver. For most fans, there's not that much of a difference between the old and the new format - the new format generates a bit more hype in the eyes of some people, but it suffers from being right between the seasons here. Many consider it something like the International Champions Cup with extra steps
The old format was a very unspectacular but accepted event European clubs could half-ass. That's why everyone was okay with it. The new format is a much bigger hassle, but it pays well

the reason it doesn't matter to us, at least in recent decades, is the format of the world cup. some arab club was invited just because they were hosting. the champions league winner would just play the semi final and the final, usually against a much weaker team. it's like they're already the super favorites to win, so theres no glory in winning because there was no challenge,

in theory, of course this would be more prestigious than the champions league, but it just wasnt the case. the current format is better, but still feels weird because the season is over for us and there was a lot of complaining from the clubs. it felt random at times as well, like the portuguese and english champions liverpool and sporting dont play in it, but a super weak porto gets to play because of... reputation? it just doesnt add up.

anyway, i think this format could work, and it could become more prestigious over time.

I'm not a Zoomer.
Literally the only decent teams in Europe are from Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy and England.
I know teams from Greece, Holland, Ukraine, Russia and Turkey, but they're no good today. Apart from Shaktar Donestk, who were reasonable a while back, and Fenerbach
No team other than the countries I mentioned is responsible for the success of European clubs.

Back in the day this was a single match trophy so you couldn't take it that serious, it was almost an exhibition game. Now they have been transforming it into a full regular tournament over the years but the difference between Europe and the rest of the teams is so huge that you can't take it seriously either. In fact non european teams would have a bigger chance if this was still a single match. I don't think any non european team will win this for a very long time now that a few top CL teams will compete in this.

While the CL is the most elite competition all in all, intercontinental competition is the very top on paper. A lot of the world seems to care about it, but Europe either fully ignores or ridicules it. I think the best format for a club World Cup is an annual tournament of only the continental champs, and you could expect the European representative and the fans to grace that tournament with a little more effort since they are the favorites and the main stars. Itโ€™s a bit of an attitude thing, it wouldnโ€™t hurt to respect it a little more. That doesnโ€™t mean I want it to get as much hype as the CL or the national leagues, thatโ€™s impossible anyway. But a bit more attention and respect wouldnโ€™t hurt
