At some point we need to stop to be ashamed of the truth. 2024-25 PSG IS easily the best Team in history. No team at their prime are steamrolling other top teams the way this PSG does.

PSG started off fucking barragistes, and were almost dead before their match-up against City. Then they manage to BTFO everyone. The had tough competition too. They're just too good enough to rekt everybody but saying their competition is weak is laughable considering where they come from early that season.

Made me look at who has the best goal differential in CL history, league and knockout phase combined

PSG was +23
2024 RM was +13
2023 Man City was +27
2022 RM was +15
2021 Chelsea was +19
2020 Bayern was +35
2019 Liverpool was +12
2018 RM was +17
2017 RM was +18
2016 RM was +22
2015 Barcelona was +20
2014 RM was +31
2013 Bayern was +20
2012 Chelsea was +13
2011 Baecelona was +21
2010 Inter Milan was +8
2009 Barcelona was +19
2008 Man United was +14
2007 Milan was +10
2006 Barcelona was +19
2005 Liverpool was +9
2004 Porto was +8
2003 Milan was +7
2002 RM was +21
2001 Bayern was +12
2000 RM was +12
1999 Man United was +13

Not really. This PSG side seems incredibly dominant. We are seeing something different. Key players seem to be Hakimi and Nuno Mendes who play like extra strikers. Even Bayern, who did have some success in suppressing them, eventually lost to 9-men PSG.

>PSG have basically had six good months and that's it

Good would apply for a club like arsenal I suppose, but this shit here is more than good. PSG have senslessly beaten big historical clubs repeatedly. It's a fantastic 6 months they've had at the very least?
Moreover these first 6 months might only be the beginning of what could be years of parisian domination. Enrique might reign supreme for a while. Current Psg's squad average age is 23. Their players are contractually locked in for years.

its not a banal good 6 months when a team wins 4 titles while crushing the opposition, and are on their way to win 2 more. This PSG hits different, we're all likely witnessing something special here.

>The Champions League moved away from being strictly for national champions with the 1997-1998 season, when runners-up from top-ranked leagues were also allowed to participate, according to Wikipedia. This change was further expanded in the 1999-2000 season, allowing up to four teams from the strongest leagues to enter. Prior to this, only the national champions of each country were eligible to compete in the European Cup (later renamed the Champions League)

Only ganksta teams used to compete for this cup now you're scoring ten goals on some team from Moldova

They may well be at the start of a period of great success, but so far they've had one brief moment of greatness and that's it. They lost a third of their Champions League games and thus cannot be considered the greatest champions of all time. Expecting more from future PSG teams is not, in itself, a reason to overstate the worth of the current one.

You did not watch them then, the blatant refballing in la liga was disgusting espexially when it comes to offsides and we all know about their game against Chelsea.

You are ignoring the tactical innovations from Enrique. You focus too much on losses and forget about style or game philosophy.

Enrique's style has evolved since training Barca... for years he was against transitional play. He hated it. But now he has integrated it in his tactical toolbox. While in possession, PSG's fluid back three defense with one of the wingback positioned higher open so many options in the build up, most teams dont even know how to handle them. Add the permutations of positions and roles, and you have a completely clueless team facing psg. We've seen that happen many times including in the CL's final.

Psg plays a form of football that is very demanding physically and tactically, but they've been drilled so hard and so well... they make it look easy. It's not. And it's not everyday you see any team play at that sort of level. All parisians know exactly where to pass, when to, to whom. They play so fast and precise it's really fucking hard to take the ball away from them.

PSG are destroying everyone whith their philosophy right now. Its not a bug. Its not a statistical oddity. PSG plays a different game.
