He sounds to me like he’s seething that he doesn’t get huge open-top bus parades every time he wins a golf tournament. Boo hoo; I don’t care.

Pretty weak field this year desu. Sheffler was injured, Shauffler injured, Speefler was injured, etc... Honestly, I probably could have gotten top 10-15 with the hosers he was up against

It’s really funny to hear an incredibly rich famous and successful married with kids athlete say how everything seems completely meaningless and who cares, what’s the point, then you have me, a complete and utter miserable failure, 5 years older than Sheffler (33) who’s a virgin with no friends, no career, no house, nothing, no accomplishments whatsoever in life, and somehow I’m supposed to get the motivation to want to continue living, continue working towards a future, have hope that things will get better, etc.

I don't think he actually meant that everything is meaningless, what I got from his answer was more the idea that meaning is transitory. things matter in the moment and then it's on to the next thing that matters, no victory or defeat is permanent. Im not gonna tell you that means you're not a failure, by some metrics you might be, but if success is transitory then failure is too. If you want to work to improve your life thats great, if not, well as they say "at the end of the game, the king and the pawns all go back in the same box."

He's pretty much admitting here that he doesn't have it in him to get to double digit majors and compete with the greats because "muh kids" and "muh wife." Just wait a few years and see how his swing works out for him when he's not practicing as much. The golf world should be angry at him for saying this.
