Do you incels seriously read nothing but /pol/?
They were doing continental rotations at the time, which they stopped. When it came to Africa's turn bids were
South Africa (just lost to Germany in 2006)
Morocco (who have been bidding since the 90s)
Egypt (who got no votes)
Tunisia and Libya had a joint bid pulled out.

Bro explain to me, why are you Americans "like that"? It's like you're incapable of comprehending nuance, everything is either or to you guys and is essentially the 4chan way of seeing things. You need constant stimulation, like in Club World Cup someone who went there mentioned how every quiet moment would be filled with music or something. You seem to basically know nothing about the world, almost like self imposed North Korea repression. I'm not even going to get into the South Africa white genocide meme. I know you guys say America is huge and that's why you know nothing but that excuse doesn't hold up. And of course you seem to have this propensity to consume that I partly impresses me partly surprises me. For example, why are your kitchens fitted with the best equipment yet you guys don't cook. Like knowing how to cook in America is a big deal lol

You had to be there to understand

The globohomos were going all out at the time. That WC played a key role in establishing the foundation for their upcoming global reset psyop, and holding it anywhere but the darkest and most gigapozzed country on the planet would have disrupted their flow entirely. At the time they didn't even care if they had the money or infrastructure to organize it, they just magically "found" 4 billion dollars and literally scooped motherfuckers off the streets to throw everything together in weeks. They staged the following one in br*zil in a sort of grotesque celebration of the end of the age of reason

SouthAfrica got straight up ROBBED in 2006. The 2010 hosting was basically a single-candidate competition (Morocco threw their hat in the ring but nah)

This is absolutely true; they all agreed to give the 2006 World Cup to an African bid and then someone voted wrong and it went to Germany instead. So they had to rig the next one for South Africa instead.

But that doesnโ€™t answer the main question of, why give it to an African country at all, ever? And the answer to that is blindingly obvious; lots of players are African and they love football and theyโ€™ve never had one before and also Africans love to pay bribes. Lots of reasons.

2006 was supossedly going to be awarded to South Africa, but Germany won it. Evidence came out later afterwards showing the krauts did lots of lobbying to get the WC. FIFA calmed everyone down by deciding 2010 was going to be held in Africa no matter what, and SA was then awarded the WC.

Because at the time it actually looked like SA had a pretty bright future. Lots of foreign investment, rapidly improving living conditions, a seemingly functional democracy...
All the problems they had seemed to be on the wane and the WC was thought to be a way to increase tourism and investment even more.
Unfortunately a year later Jacob Zuma became president and the collapse accelerated.

FIFA and Blatter specifically simply wanted an African nation to host the World Cup for the first time. It was supposed to be good PR and a sign of respect for Africa as a whole (if you're generous and willing to assume FIFA didn't only have their own ego in mind)
They didn't really want Egypt or Morocco or Algeria, but a "black" nation. South Africa beats Nigeria when it comes to overall wealth, infrastructure (partially because of their rugby and cricket traditions), and internal stability. The climate was also judged to be more pleasant, I guess. It had to be South Africa. Nothing strange about it once FIFA's ambition comes into play
It was a decent World Cup. Not perfectly organized, but in the end, everything went well. And the fans were passionate and memorable for sure. A nice change of pace. No other sub-Saharan country is capable of hosting
