Performance-wise, a World Cup held in what is the middle of the season (for the European top leagues) is probably better indeed. Players still have a bit more energy and are less injury-prone
There's nothing kino about December (or the Qatar World Cup) itself. Qatar originally promised to hold the cup in summer because they'd be using cooling technology in the stadiums, but turns out they lied. The schedule changes needed to fit the World Cup into winter were downright terrible.
The World Cup should always be held in the season. July is the best option all in all, summer for most people. It has proven to be the best for season schedule and is also tradition. But sometimes I think that club season would be better off following the calendar year

I dont know. To be fair I only watched one match, which was Germany v. Japan, because Iam a german, who lived some time in Japan, which made the match special to me. I couldnt bother to watch any others matches due to all the bs happening in connection with that WC.

it was fucking garbage. The location was garbage, the atmosphere was garbage, the host nation had no business being in the world cup, you couldn't drink a beer and watch the game outside but were huddled inside with hot cocoa, Qatar is a slavestate shithole that literally killed thousands to host this bullshit. It was the fucking worst.
