Ronaldo was the better player. Messi was on better teams.

CR7 is all physical gifts, but has the talent level of a 3rd stringer at any elite club (being generous here)

Messi has none of the physical gifts but actually has talent

What a fucking retarded take.

CR7 came to United as a skinny and scrawny prospect. He broke a transfer fee for youngsters due to his great dribbling ability and technical skill. He bulked up as he aged but he was a very technically gifted winger. Not Messi or Neymar tier but definitely elite already.

Stop watching football through reels.

I played on a team with a CR7. Like the teams CR7 played for, we were the all star team that hogged all the talent in the region.

At the end of each practice our B team would scrimmage on A team 11 v 11 full field

We had this stud American Football player in our region that never played soccer before but we let him on the team because he was like CR7, bigger faster stronger than everyone else in our region

We called him "Racehorse"
He played for our B team in the scrimmages. Since he never played soccer before, what we did was we just had him sit up top doing nothing like how everyone uses CR7

Our A team always had our B team pinned back on their defensive half and anytime the B team won possession they would chip it into the A teams half off the field where Racehorse could run under it

Was just like CR7, every time Racehorse outran and out muscled the defenders and had a one one one. He'd miss it 4 of 5 just like CR7 because he was such a spazz but he still scored 3+ goals each game

When the regular season started Racehorse went back to playing American football

This was all way before CR7, so I had no idea people would love Racehorse like they would love CR7, despite how much he embarrassed the game of soccer

But here we are

What they need to do is multiply their goals by the coefficient for the league for that year
Because Messi never played in England that could be the one thing that makes Ronaldo better, he did it in Italy and England Messi only played in Spain (France is MLS tier)

counting copa with only Brazil as consistent contender.
Let's see the tournament finals, okay?
2007: Argentina lost 3:0 to Brazil in the final.
2011: Eliminated in QF
2015: Argentina did draw 0:0 and lost on penalties.
2016: Argentina did draw 0:0 and lost on penalties.
2019: Eliminated in SF
2021: Argentina won 1:0 with a goal of Di Maria: COPA!
2024: Argentina won 1:0 with a goal of Lautaro Martinez. COPA!

So Messi lost three finals and won two, but scored a grand total of zero goals and zero assists in the finals.
