Offense-Reid-Kelce-Scramble-Ref bab doesn't have his all star cast and looks like poo. All he knows is chucking deep balls to speedy guys and tip-toeing on the sideline.

Salary cap and mediocre drafting. Winning means the good players that helped you win want more money. Wanting more money means you have to let those good players go. Mediocre drafting means you're not replacing those good players.

They genuinely got lucky and/or reffed through a lot of their success. They had a lot of close games last season and the bull came do at the superbowl.

This. Shit got too loud. Then they tried backtracking to make it seem fair but the damage was done last season. Now they've had to play off merit and while they're not a bad team they're damn sure not better than Philly

I mean it was a close game, yeah a 2 score TO swing is going to be fatal. we'll be fine, especially once Worthy and Rice return. defense looked much better on the whole, LT is holding up better than last year giving Pat time
run game is still concerning and obviously yeah blown secondary coverage needs to execute better

In a weird way we should all be grateful to Taylor Swift because she was the canary in the coal mine that let the league know their golden boys were actually widely despised villains.

Their plan was clearly to have her make guest appearances at as many games as possible to promote her tour and recruit swifties to football games but they mistakenly assumed people would just lose their shit unconditionally and engage in mindless idolatry like what normally happens when Taylor goes anywhere. And instead people stared heaping scorn on her. They hated the Chiefs so fucking much that instead of Taylor making them more likeable the association with the Chiefs made her hateable and just amplified all the negativity surrounding the Chiefs and the obvious plan to refball them to a "historic" threepeat. The league wanted that storyline so, so badly. The fact that they abandoned it at the last second indicates that their internal Chiefs-related metrics must have been overwhelmingly negative. Like, "15% of the fanbase might quit the sport if this happens" negative.

I guess they figured them just being in the owl was enough exposure and they didn't need to risk outright revolt if they cheesed the owl the same way they cheesed all those one-score games. Given how much worse the Chiefs were than the Eagles they would have had to drop the act entirely and make like 20 completely fraudulent calls just to keep it close. The NBA would have just done it anyway and told the fans to suck it but that's why basketball is a second-rate sport. The NFL had juuust enough self-awareness not to show their ass when they knew everyone was on to their act and pissed about it.

Unironically Taylor Swift. Should have never gotten involved with NFL business. Exposed the league as being a soulless shell of it's former self. She's a reminder to everyone that at least two if not three of their SB rings are fraudulent asterisks.

>Analyzing 13,136 defensive penalties from 2015 to 2023, we find that postseason officiating disproportionately favors the Mahomes-era Kansas City Chiefs

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/fire.70020

>Moreover, we find that referees are more likely to call penalties that benefit the Mahomes era Chiefs offense in high-leverage situations. When conditioning on the expected points added (EPA) potential of a play, postseason penalties tend to occur in ways that disproportionately advantage the Chiefs when they are in strong scoring position. Similarly, when conditioning on down to go, referees are more likely to call penalties that favor the Chiefs on third or fourth down, which are situations where penalties can directly extend drives. Importantly, we find no comparable postseason effect for the Brady-era Patriots, the Alex Smith–Andy Reid-era Chiefs, or other recent contenders such as the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, or San Francisco 49ers

So this is what happens when the KC reffies are no longer propped up
