They had Tuesday Night Football for several years starting in the late 90s and it was gaining traction with the public (who were just used to MNF, Thursday night games weren't a thing yet). 9/11 ended that

J.F. Kennedy signed a law in 1961
>The act contains language that limits the window during which NFL games can be shown on television between the second Friday in September and the second Saturday in December; during that span, they can’t be aired past 6 P.M. on Friday (to protect high school football) or at any point on Saturday, which essentially led to college football monopolizing that day of the week.
Tuesdays could work I think but as far as I know the Monday numbers are so bad that no broadcaster would pay for it

Its a day for college football and its really a big deal there. I didnt realize this until i watched some games. They do stuff in the show before the game that are World Cup final tier, sometimes even more impressive and the crowd are always full. Its not like u23 sports anywhere else in the world at all.
