Best and Worst faction to be arrested by in the Human Sphere?

LAST THREAD

>>95698664 (OP)> TQbest? Probably 012 they have to at least kinda pretend to care about human rights
Worst? I don't know maybe CA the morats will probably eat you or something. Or the Nomads when the Mexicans just open the airlock and kill you.
Odalisques are for ______
>>95698714providing security to VIPs
>>95698714Never getting a model remake because CB is too PC for the cheese cake now that's it's a big boy company
>>95698714Sitting in my backlog, it seems.
>>95698684Thereโs like a 70% chance that Nomads will give you a cool gun and a cocktail of combat drugs if they arrest you, which is a win in my book. Worst is without a doubt CA, with YJ being a distant second. Ariadnaโs might be a contender, depending on the seriousness of your crimes; you might get a talking to from an overworked Merovingian bureaucrat or sentenced to hard labor in a Tartarian tessium mineโฆ or you might get handed over to Warcrimes Pete for an afternoon of fun.
>>95698636Normoid market is huge
>>95699161Some of these companies need to accept 'normoids' are never going to be interested, full stop
It needs to cash in harder on the weebs (unfortunately since weebs are fucking retards and generally trash).
>>95667791>>95667796>>95667807>>95667852Same anon from last thread, would anyone have the lore bits for these?
>>95698871YJ I think it's normal for average crimes but the YJ extremes definitely earn them second place. Kuang shi, Wu Ming, concentration camps (like that island with japanese on it), shipped off to hard labor on an asteroid
How is N5? Is it a good moment for getting into Infinity?
I have a quite big pile of old Aleph stuff I bought with N4 in mind but life went crazy and I never had a chance to work on it. Would you recommend Infinity as it is right now to people who have time only for one (1) game and can't dip into multiple projects?
>>95702049The Competitive players, the people from Barcelona that play monthly tournaments said that the game has never been in a better state regarding rules balance, addressing grey areas and that stuff.
As a casual player I can say ... yes, it's Ok. But it is a very demanding game. It's overwhelming and loaded of stuff. Once you reach the point of playing it fluently knowing all the shenanigans it brings joy and satisfaction but it's climbing up a hill, really.
>>95702210>>95702049To be fair, you can lighten the rules judiciously to learn the ropes, adding more stuff later on.
Does anyone else play the RPG or is it just me? Then again, I discovered infinity by stumbling on the RPG by pure chance
>>95702991It's one of those games I've been wanting to play for a while, but it's not D&D or a derivative so no one I know is interested.
>>95703771>Dnd limboTrue hell. They won't even try to play it?
>>95702049I see a lot of new and returning players lately.
N5 is not good. 15 model limit (just like n4) limits armies using cheap light infantary.
lots of unit profiles and armies deleted
model availability for purchase is a mess.
example guhlam expansion box contains deleted sniper.
lots of wisiwig weapons sculpted and no longer have unit profiles.
if you want to play and use fire teams there are many models missing that make the fire team worth taking. example myuib with light smoke grenade launcher. old model awesom, no new model. now i cant lead the fire team out of deployment zone under the cover of smoke.
quality of sculpts has been hit and miss since just after defiance. example the long wang tag has a shield on its left fore arm. in the past it would be sculpted seperately. now u have its fingers poking out of the shield, ie require u to paint a shadow.
personaly
i think theses sub par sculpting techniques will flatline infinity sales.
as for pricing and the debate over metal if u take the new iss box and look at the amount of metal in the robot dragon and the remote thats about the amount u need for a tag.
the buisness investment in alternative goop was a mistake. its just led to sub standard sculpts.
as for the rules, infinity has been no less complex since 3rd edition. we still have layered rules, and more so than 3rd ed.
3rd ed special rule lvl2 grants lvl1, so u have to read the rule book for that not just the wiki.
5th ed this weapon has -save, you unit profile grants +1 burst etc. so layering ontop of the core weapon rules.
the main complexity of infinity is all of the base game mechanics. putting it all togther and writing a list that you know how to use and executing it to a scenraio is difficult however this whole experince hasnt really been streamlined since 3rd ed.
i would like to see the comand token eliminated and replaced with multiple lt orders for active turn gameplay, thus eliminating a pre-game mechanic and streamlining startup of a game.
>>95707297>15 model limit (just like n4) limits armies using cheap light infantary.Kurwa!
do you have a problem with more than 15 models, or do u have a problem with lots of camo? articulate yourself a bit
>>95707297Why do you format your text like you are having a stroke?
>>95707904More than 15 models would only invalidate smaller, elite armies more than it already does. It's already extremely debatable to ever consider not going full 15 models all the time, imagine if some armies can get more. You either pick an army that drowns the opponent in orders, or you don't have fun because you won't get to play
So Code One is not a thing anymore, is it?
You have just explained why the 15 model limit sucks the fun out of the game. Back in N2 or N3 we didn't have this problem of people being too shit scared to play against 20 model lists, while fielding 9-10 dudes.
That being said, I'd be pretty happy with heaps of changes to the game, like removing tactical awareness, and the whole command token system, so maybe I'm not representative of a normal player.
>>95709215I don't understand why the limit removes the fun, if without a limit people would still try to shove as many people in (just like they do now with the 15 limit) and would exacerbate lower order lists being drowned.
Right now it's "if you don't hit the limit, you're more than likely rocking a weak, subpar list", which would become "if you don't optimize the fun out of the game by maximizing model count, you're rocking a weak, subpar list"
>>95700853Same anon from last thread.
I'm currently at work, i'll post today or tomorrow, so check back later.
>>95702049Infinity can be complex, but that complexity mainly comes from unit rules and learning your options.
If you and your friend circle stick with models who have few special rules at first and then gradualy introduce new ones, it should work out fine.
>>95708766No, code one didn't carry over to n5 because according to CB most people learned the game by having veteran players teach them the normal rules in small steps, so code one missed the point
>>95709215Nah, I was "Do you really have to be like this?" every time some troll would walz England still won or other spam list.
>>95709592Imo they should have made it for casual players who don't want to chase the meta instead of training wheels for noobs. Most of the rules implemented, but fewer and more generic profiles.
>>95708482>Jon from Human ResourcesNew lore just dropped!
I haven't yet played with my YJ in N5, is this pack worthwhile for WB/IA?
>>95709780Forgot the picture
>>95709780>>95709786If you like the models. The profiles are meh.
Gudan are decent. They can sit in camo and help guard your DZ while generating orders, but that's about it.
YinShe are sub-par. They can bully cheap models with MSV but don't really have any other tricks. Pretty expensive for a profile that isn't durable and only is occasionally useful. If you run into a high armor MSV model a K1 sniper with Albedo-6 is great, but will that happen enough to be worth it?
The Yin-She model is super cool tho.
Since fucking when do multi weapons also get shock
>>95710467Since like first edition?
>>95710520Surely you're gaslighting me. Didn't multi weapons in N4 only have DA and AP?
>>95710792Nah, AP/Shock for Multi Rifle and MultiHMG, MultiSnipers have varied a bit. I think at the very beginning in the first rules leaflet the Multirifles shock ammunition was the burst 1 mode, it got later buffed to DA and shock was moved to burst 3.
>>95709780Don't listen to this retard
>>95709977 he doesn't know shit about the game.
The gudan are now a new staple for vanilla, WB and IA, but keep in mind they sit in camo most of the game, so you may just proxy them.
You take either the 12 or 13pts loadout, with switch on now no longer automatic the 12pts is arguably stronger.
The yin-she is indeed bad though, but at least the model is cool.
>>95711166Is 28 points for a K1 marksman bad?
>>95708482Hey Nourkias...
Lay off the people...
>>95698714Passionate, sweaty handholding
Still some of my favourite models and still could be interesting gameplaywise, as they are the closest that we have to 40k tarpits in Infinity.
I'd say sadly we won't see an update, but CB doesn't do attractive models anymore so this might not be a curse after all.
I just hope they don't get cut.
>>95713855Nah, O-12 still gets cuties
Want to play infinity so bad but no one to play with...
>>95719947Tabletop simulator is there for us loners
>>95720194That's the issue. Even online friends don't want to play infinity, they don't like wargames
>>95720575Find new friends.
>>95720733I'm tired of making new friends. I've got friends who like everything but the specific wargames I like (infinity and heavy gear). I can get them to try almost anything but they don't stick with it
>>95702049I'm learning to play, and stripping back the rules and slowly adding them bit by bit makes it very digestible, it's a very bad idea to try to rawdog the full rules from game 1, there is simply too much stuff amd too many things to control simultaneously if you are not used to the core procedures.
>>95709215Lmao at this gross pollack.
>>95709780>>95709786Gudan are absolutely worth it for IA and WB.
The other guy is trash but whatever
>>95709786I was all ready to join the parade of shitting on the silver snake (Yin She) but...
Maybe 30 pts and only .5 SWC for a sapper K1 Sniper isn't ... Bad?
It has Albedo -6 as well, so it's a sniper that most snipers don't really want to gunfight. Almost any sniper will be -6 against it (either the Albedo or the sapper state's mimetism and partial cover).
Anyone else have any thoughts?
>>95723440I think it's just somewhat subpar, and not some objectively always useful specialist. So in casual games it's definitely more than viable, but in a competitive environment there's way better stuff as you have to optimize.
For me, as always, looks >>> stats. It looks fucking baller, so I will use it
>>95722731Then stop complaining.
>but I like to compla-Then do it somewhere else.
>>95723378NTA, but I'd like to chime in that Brutal Force events (basically 300pt limited insertion with combat/area control scenarios) were loads of fun because it upended the meta and people could bring out the TAGs/HI links they normally hardly ever fielded. I know that complaining about everything is practically a Polish national pastime, but that's not all there is to us.
>>95720194How do you handle the more tricky LoS and ranging situations in TTS? Like measuring from the top of a silhouette? So far we've been eyeballing it by putting the camera behind the mini and seeing from there. Another issue is diagonal movement with jumping
>>95712198It is. Because it's on a 4-4 single-wound piece with barebones bs13 in 90% cases. Also it's 29pts
>>95723440It would be really cool if they added "FTO" to the sapper loadout, because just a single die on ARO is not worth it.
Compare it to Nikoul who brings a mine, an msv1 and an extra wound โ and he's not even that good this edition because of viral nerf and the existence of some really strong active albedo shooters.
Speaking of, if you want a good active albedo shooter in WB you just take Lei Gong.
Bullying PanO nerds and dating their sisters while they seethe and cope in their blue armors.
>>95726679This post was brought to you by Bakunin-gang.
>>95726618B-but he looks so cool...
In other news, just found out how badly they fucking butchered Crane operatives. What's this junk?
>>95726827Then just take the cheapest version, that guy is a specialist with d-charges and can occasionally shoot some riot gurl with his e/mitter, also slots into your general WB core. You could do worse for 22pts.
>>95726827>What's this junk?He looks kino THOUGH
>>95726827Why do you care? You don't want to play him anyway.
>>95726867You shut your whore mouth by allah. Old crane looks baller, not whatever that is

>>95726905This is a Qing dynasty Crane
>>95726827This is a Ming Dynasty crane.
>>95726933It looks uncool, so the faction feels less cool as a whole
Been awol since the end of N4, before anything about N5 was revealed. I noticed pistols lost CC ability and shotguns their template. Bit sad for the shotguns but pistols were the better choice in CC unless the model had a dedicated cc weapon so good riddance
>>95727112It's just a new armor model. YJ has them once in a while.
>>95726874Crane agents aren't good? Is there like any unit besides the usual 5 in any army that's good or is it just a YJ issue
>>95729062There are more than 5 good units in most armies imo, and it's just that crane sucks. If you want a good active shooter, take hsien instead, or miranda, or even Adil because of how scary even one hit from him can be, even bao could work better than crane.
Cranes pay a lot for questionable rules, and there are better models in IS. Like, su-jian actually costs less and has stealth this season.
>>95729738Did crane always suck? He looked lame in N4 too
>>95729910He is better than ever now, and he still sucks.
>>95729738Su jian has stealth? I don't see it on the wiki, and I can't access the army maker
>>95729954There's a new ITS seasonal rule where you can make one trooper (that's not a rem, tag or in a marker, maybe some other restrictions) get stealth and a silenced pistol. Read on it in the end of the ITS rules.
>>95729062You made me think: who's actually good in ISS?
Good (in no particular order):
Hsien, Koga, Jinwei, Zhanying hacker, Taowu, Shenji, Quianfeng, Miranda, Su-Jian, Sun Tze, Deva (KHD), Dakini
Decent:
Wu Ming, Adil, Feiquan, Bao, Longwang (I just think he's better in vanilla), Jinyao, Ninja, Kanren, Lunah
Meh:
Crane, Pheasant, Bayara
I'm not mentioning celestials and shit that you will take anyways. There's a lot of great models in the sectorial, definitely more than just 5.
>>95727125It's actually a lot, lot better for the game that shotguns lost templates. All shotgun models who were meant to have templates eventually got a compensation (like su-jian, for example).
On the contrary, some models who relied on +1B in CC with their pistols (like Greif or Kokram) suffered greatly and weren't compensated at all. If they fixed that, it would be cool.
>>95730053Ah, I see. Never used or looked at ITS, but that's pretty cool
>>95731941In a sectorial full of HIs, someone has the be the weakest.

>>95732222We're so back crane chads
Real question, is there unit that's genuinely terrible, that is, not even worth it for casual games without optimized or at least well thought out lists?
>>95734720Any CG unit that isn't a hacker or a KS controller
>>95698758I hate that they forgot their roots and also turned Nomads into blatant capeshit references. Slowly chipping away at a classic Chimera model in 3d.
>>95734769Meh bait.
>>95734720If we're not talking about particular loadouts but whole units, then I don't think ISS has anyone other than the crane that fits the description, and even with him you can try making him work. It's just that none of his layouts feel finished, all of them feel lacking a bit. Like I'd definitely play the triangulated sensor profile if it was a specialist. Maybe the hacker would be playable in theory if IS had repeaters on the field on deployment.
>>95698758I mean, the odalisque was always a very tame, but well done, model. Only her belly was and is exposed, and PanO armor as no smaller boobs
MANHUNT is an unofficial, fun alternate mode for playing Infinity designed by Warsenal.
Unlike standard ITS missions, MANHUNT is less about fighting and more about playing out a dystopian fantasy and creating memorable stories through emergent gameplay and random chart results.
Tension, story, and asymmetryโsomething between a campaign and a tactical thriller. Download it for free and let's play!
More info: https://warsen.al/blogs/manhunt/launch
>>95737913Look fun. Are there any other narrative/campaign random generators, and/or something where you have a "persistent" army who can take losses across missions or be replenished
>>95738160There's the domestic ICS, but your upgrades are limited to army-wide command bonuses and points for your single Spec-Ops unit.
>>95738365I see. That's a shame, I quite like the warchest system in BT and I think kill squad has something like that as well
Where's the new studio update? I can't wait to see how they manage to botch this qt chinese gestapo engigirl...
>>95737913Interesting idea, good job Warsenal. Sounds like a Infinitymunda of sorts.
>>95737586What are you ever going to use a regular CG for, or any of their SEC profiles for. You always have a better option for whatever role.
>>95741155Just because there's something better for a job doesn't mean it's straight unplayable like the anon asked, you metagaming, pierogi gnawing, orderspamming slav.
>>95741155A CG FO or SGL are both good options. Sometimes you realize you're better off saving points somewhere else instead of running those shitty N5 kuang shi, or you want a core slot for your meme wu ming link, but you still want a linked smoke shooter.
The MMR is the only completely useless CG profile.
>>95739975Her render was already shown off, it's just a pedestrian "helmeted model in firing stance" IIRC.
>>95741261Damn bro calm down. Also he didn't say 'straight unplayable.' And infinity isn't a game were you just Willey nilley take pointless less effective choices unless points or SWC force you too.
>>95741444I can't think of a time it would t just be better to take the KS controller in a KS link, since you can stick some of ISS's good wild cards (like adil) in that thing to give the wildcard easy SD (same with the SGL).
>>95741846There are two problems with your plan. First: N5 KS are absolute, utter dogshit, and I personally try to avoid using them if I can (which is hard if you wanna run a sun tze su-jian list). Second: the best guns in IS aren't wildcards.
You say
> some of ISS's good wild cards (like adil)...but that's just Adil. The other wildcards are either shit or utility dudes.
And at the same time you can run a CG haris with a hacker and smoke and then Adil, and that link can easily push forward under smoke and do different objectives. Also you can change the smoke guy to the FO, so that your haris does most classifieds all by itself, while your monitor shoots smoke from group 2.
I'm getting back into the game, sitting here assembling some backlog models. And out of sudden each and every drill bit I have is either completely blunt and barely drills anything, sharp but immediately breaks in half when attempting drilling, or is 0,005mm too thin for the vice to grip it properly.
What the FUCK?
>>95742037> Utter dogshitThere is no world where a package of 3 regular orders (and two impetuous orders) for 25 points and 0.5 SWC (Which includes a smoke launcher) is 'utter dogshit.' it's not n4 levels of bullshit but you have to be a literal contrarian to insist it's 'utter dogshit' to have that many cheap orders, and smoke, in your list, with or without a wildcard in the group too, even if all they do is sit in the back and feed orders to shit like a su jian.
I stopped reading after that idiotic statement. Don't bother replying.
>>95743141>drillWhat for? Are you assembling TAGs from 2007?
>>95743602> I stopped readingI thought you had to be 18 to post here, or is it only true for green boards?
> 3 regular orders (and two impetuous orders) for 25 points and 0.5 SWCProblem is that it also costs 3 trooper slots which are a resource just like points and swc. And you're wasting 2 of those (and your only core slot, too) on units that don't do anything until maybe spending an impetuous order on 3rd turn if they somehow survive till that time. Also if you link them for smoke shooting, you can't even spread the KS to cover more ground with their templates.
Yes, KS is shit that's only used to fill the rest of your list with cheap troopers. They won't accomplish anything meaningful, and you can easily link smoke with other CGs. I knew you were either baiting or simply bad at list buildng back at that retarded CG comment, but I guess you're also a manchild who can't take people on the internet being right. How sad.
>>95743873Old haqqislami remotes. But I also pin everything to the bases, since I use basetops or resin bases for everything.
Damn, didn't want to spark such a heated discussion. I personally like to build lists for flavor over meticulously thought out list buildings as me and friends just chill out (hence I also wish for a campaign/narrative book for connected games). One time I built a penal army, basically just KS with controller, couple of pheasants and a Hsien
>>95745393>But I also pin everything to the bases, since I use basetops or resin bases for everything.Just cut the underfoot strips to pegs. Works wonders and is actually faster than pinning.

This is what I found for older unpacks:

>>95773110Tohaa will likely remain out of catalogue for the foreseeable future, if not indefinitely. Revamping them just isn't their priority. Personally, I think Tohaa are cool as hell, so it is a bit of a shame.
>>95760876Would you actually run it? I always wanted to try but I don't know how many anons will actually be interested
>>95773199With all the vocal support for tohaa, why didn't they sell then? It's a shame they're discontinued but no point making something that people don't buy
>>95776363>why didn't they sell then?Because most people are retarded.
>>95776363I got into the game after they discontinued Tohaa proper, so I couldn't really tell you. The Tohaa aesthetic appeals to me, but considering they've not done well in the past, I assume I am in the minority.
I was able to, eventually, buy basically every model in the range, so I am quite pleased they're still playable. I'd love some new stuff, but I don't expect it.
>>95777650They look good, but are quite challenging to paint.
>>95777650>>95776363I got in during N3. If I recall, Tohaa were not super popular for a few different reasons.
They not humans and were just as bad as CA. People like playing the "good guy factions" (humans) or the straight villain. Not the third guy there being a cunt.
They were a weirder faction that played different. They were seen as kind of OP, but because they were cheesy. No one liked playing against Tohaa BS.
Their fluff angle wasn't as well developed. Back then, CB didn't understand the appeal to sectorials. They were very surprised to learn most people (about 60% at the time) were only playing sectorials.
Sectorials give your faction character. "You are not just PanO, you are Varuna!, here is all the fluff and how you are different and why your planet is cooler than other PanO planets". Tohaa was a sectorial and their fluff was just they basically manipulating humanity. That is about it.
>>95780851>They were seen as kind of OP, but because they were cheesy. No one liked playing against TohaaI figured this must have been the reason, compounded by being the duplicitous assholes.
When every faction is tacticool John Scifi, threesome alien faction stood out a bunch, and I guess they felt more like fantasy characters (the tohaa are the usual asshole elves). The CA feels more grounded, so to speak. They're basically the covenant
>>95780936Weirdly, lots of the stuff that made Tohaa different got put into the game.
I suspect that another issue with relaunching them, how are they going to be made interesting.
But also GW is surging, so it is going to make things difficult for CB to expand.
>>95780972Surging, again? What have they released recently?
>>95781397I mean more in general for the past 3-4 years.
Tohaa went OOP and GW has been dominating the market, making things harder for smaller companies like CB. That makes Tohaa revival a tougher sell.
>>95781697Heard kill team isn't doing so good anymore, however. I don't think GW is still rising, not as hard as they were when KT first popped up
>>95782800Feels like GW is moving towards media empire. Arguably CB is as well, but much smaller scale.
Aww, they wear samurai helmets
>>95776146Not sure. Genuinely too self conscious to likely do it
>>95787243Now check out the Sphinx.
>>95783225It's all about IP now. TBf GW is handling its IP quite smartly now compared to a decade or so ago.
>>95787361She looks pretty nice, I think.
>>95787361The turrets being metal is a pleasant surprise, I thought for sure they'd have cheaped out with Siocast ones.
>>95787409>quite smartlyDid you miss the blanket lawsuits against anything (and I mean anything) with Warhammer in their title from like two weeks ago?
>>95787473Eh they have always been quite defensive of it. They raided Cults3d too.
I'm more talking about how they are managing it concerning games and other media. They control it way more carefully and select the companies they collab with very shrewdly.
>>95787413I was thinking of the expression more than the quality of the model.
>>95787331Too bad, I was interested.
>>95783225CB has a game, the game is there, you can play it if you want. You can buy the miniatures if you like them. That's 100% CB's business right now.
GW wants 40k to be every second on your social media feed. They want 40k on your media, they want the wargame, the skirmish game, to videogame, the TV show, the movies, the action figures you buy evertyhing from them. They want cultural relevance to the point that 40 k is in the conversation constantly. That's their goal.
Even if CB has a new manga coming out, or a videogame or even a TV show they are far away from the plans global takeover GW has now.
What the hell is Deras Kaar? I found the name as a category on Human Sphere, it looks like a vestigial Tohaa sectorial? Where did it come from and where can I read up on it?
>>95788408GW has no "global takeover" plans lol
They're just seeking more avenues to generate profit and media is an obvious choice for that. Their problem is that their golden goose has some inherent problems that prevent it to become as popular than, say, Star Wars was at its height. In this sense CB is not that different, with Infinity and its spinoffs making ever more media spinoffs to generate interest and profit.
>>95788408>or a videogameFor one I'm excited about the Aristeia videogame.
>>95788431That's the name for the reinforcements company.

Thoughts on fliers in general?
>>95790076I think they are a cool addition to the game.
>>95790076They don't belong in this game.
>>95790076I think they are a fun addition to the game. Enjoyed playing them and was fun figuring out how to play AGAINST them. It is dumb they are manned. Humanoids make things like this look clunky and dumb. Even the best one, Go-Pod, look like they'd only work in low-gravity.

Alright, as far as that rpg game:
- will be in central european timezone.
- schedule will be in the evening starting 21:00, on Fridays or Saturdays (open to other days however, but still in the evening)
- will take 3 players, at most 4
- Considering this is the infinity general, I would like to mention firsthand that I'm not super knowledged on infinity lore. By this I mean, I don't know the nitty gritty details, only what's in the rpg books, so heads up if I get something wrong.
No other informations for now, I'd like to know how many of you anons are actually interested, then we can get to organize further
>>95794803Not interested myself, but do post an AAR later.
>>95795029Don't even know if it will start. It seems there's two anons that were interested, but even then, flake ratio is very high for online games

>>95797867No, they were all primed black and then I built up NMM textures with a brush. I prime black, then cover a surface in off black and work my way up to off white. Maybe 12 total steps.
I think I might actually make a video on that at some point.
>>95797882Please do, interesting method.

>>95794355Isn't it a bit weird that PanO just enslaves a race of sentient fishmen? Ariadnans are savages, so Antipodes don't count.

Hey anons, a friend and I tried infinity at the UK games expo recently and we bought the starter set and beyond sandtrap from there. He took pan so I'm getting the JSA.
Furst fight on friday, what am I in for? We calculated our lists and we both have 150ish points. I was told that pan are very strong when you're new since they are the best in a straight up fight.
My list is 152 points whilst his is 150, will this make a big difference?
How is JSA as a faction? I understand that they're new, I'm not sure if I'll want to stick with them but it's difficult to know which playstyle faction would work for me when so much of the game is a mystery still
>>95799239Yu-Jing propaganda, Helots are happy to be PanO citizens.
>>95800841I don't play either of the factions, but I'm told sandtrap is not super well balanced as a starter, mostly because of Pano's excellent sniper and heavy machine gunner. You need to try your best to avoid engaging them in favorable for them range brackets, and focus on whatever objectives your scenario has. A lot depends on how dense table you deploy, but this is something of an art in itself.
>>95800937This is beyond sandtrap which I don'tthink has any snipers, it has:
Pano:
1 Blink with Heavy Rocket Launcher,
1 WildParrot,
1 Firefly Paramedic with Combi Rifle, and
1 Hetkari with MULTI Red Fury.
JSA:
1 Teishin Hacker with Boarding Shotgun,
1 Kurayami Hacker with Light Shotgun, and
1 Shizoku FTO with AP HMG.
>>95798306>>95798937Just you two? Sounds good. Primarily on discord but tts would be great as I don't use the default abstract range system (I use the tabletop ranges), and you can get 3d environments*
I'll link a form so you can drop your info and some details, then I'll contact you guys.

*Disclaimer: don't expect much in this department, it's very time intensive
>>95800841>My list is 152 points whilst his is 150, will this make a big difference?Won't be significant, aim for the same number of points later once you have more minis.
>How is JSA as a faction? They tend to be a bit of glass cannons, they are worse than PanO at shooting (especially at long range) but better in close quarters and had moving around the map (bikes, smoke, various augmented climbers etc.).
In general in Infinity you are not hard locked in a playstyle depending on the faction, but each faction can push a certain playstyle more than others.
>>95800841JSA has some absurdly strong units.
They work great as a faction, but they are way less straight forward for a new player. If you stick with them and figure it out they are probably nearly as good as Kestral or CA the two tops.
>>95802553Which are strong? All I ever hear about is hatamoto
What does a Thunderbolt look like? Have they released any models with one? There doesn't seem to be any picture of it in the rulebook.
>>95804251Don't some of the N5 JSA models have one? Or is that the contender
>>95804715Nope, and I was looking for it specifically to convert some for the Japs.

>>95805019Is there even a description of what it is?
>>95804251>>95805019I don't think they have yet released one. In game it's essentially a more basic version of the Feuerbach, so I would just use that.
I believe JSA primarily uses PanO-originated weapons for their more advanced guns, so I would opt for their design. You can get one printed from https://www.monstrousmakings.co.uk/product/panoceania-weapon/
Is this game any less a hacking fest from N4? Is thrle competitive meta (Not the retards from Barcelona) meaningfully different from playing repeater chicken and using smokes/Bearpode-types, etc?

>>95805533I'm not printing stuff overseas to pay shipping on a few bits. The Overdron HRMC conversion STL is looking mighty tempting though.
I guess I'll wait for a proper art/model then, it's not like my backlog's getting any smaller.
But while we're at the subject of proonting, anyone have STLs for TAG conversion kits? Specifically, I'm looking for the Shakush arms holding the gun 2-handed, and the old-sculpt (this is important) O-Yoroi arms wielding the katana. I know I've seen both around but can't find them now.

>>95801524>>95802553>>95800937Thanks anons, first game went slow as you'd probably imagine. And we probably got a lot wrong.
I deployed one hacker in infiltration in a corner behind a chokepoint, hoping to hack one of his heavy armours as it moved forward, and a parachutist hacker in reserve to deploy where needed.
Furst turn he advanced with his orc and a basic trooper up the centre, then some heavy infantry up the flank, killing one of my basic troopers.
I used my troops with minmatism and heavy AP rifles to pick off one of his troops and the orc from long range, then my parachutist jumped down around the corner from his hetkari.
For his second turn his blink revealed itself and took a shot at my lieutenant, luckily I made my save thanks to cover. He then spent activations setting up supressive fire and used two activations to try and kill my parachutist, (I won the f2f roll and made my armour save respectively).
My second turn, the parachutist charged the hetkari and killed it using a combination of martial arts and a demolition charge, putting my opponent into retreat, we called the game there.
Really enjoyable game! We had some spectators who were also interested and they played using the starter box troops afterward, one is looking to play nomands and the other is looking at ariadna.

I'm way behind the lore, basically I just remember the Japs splitting from the chinks. Did the CA actually put someone in the O12 council?
>>95856527Yeah. Long story short the Tohaa almost exploded Coincilium as they tried to destroy/activate the Digester, so the humans and the CA declared a ceasefire in order to save the planet.
Basically we are now in a kind of cold war situation between the humans and the aliens. No more open hostilities.
>>95856557Oh I see. In a way it makes more sense than the CA having unlimited troops on paradiso despite the attrition. With the humans having complete space and orbital superiority, they could've nuked ground zero a million times. In fact, the only places they couldn't have nuked were those with civilians taken as hostages.
>>95856557The tohaa are such fucking assholes. The whole paradiso thing was engineered by the triumvirate, and when "normal" tohaa came, they still backstabbed the humans and tried to kill them to steal the paradiso digester, and you're telling me they did it again on concilium?
>>95849078If you are going to take pictures with your phone, pls install open camera and disable postprocessing kthxbye
>>95856719The Triumvirate got worried the CA would seize the Penny Arcade and sent in the Spiral Corps to trigger the Digester's emergency security protocols. McMurrough was there and thwarted them before they could set it off fully (thus the Old Man of the Mountain's ploy of trapping him in Dog-Warrior form pays off), so the apocalypse it would have caused is slow enough for the EI to swoop in and provide tech that can halt the issue.
Consequence is that the CA's territorial claims are recognized, they get a special advisory seat at the O-12 table, Spiral Corps are kill-on-sight mega-terrorists, and the regular Tohaa military may gain an ally in getting the Triumvirate weeded out.
Also the Digester's security protocols open a bunch of wormholes, hence we get a new planet.
Do we have a confirmation that the various Circulars connect planes within the Milky Way? Imagine how freaky it would be if the Human Sphere was actually scattered all over the universe in different galaxies, and just randomly connected due to wormholes.
>>95857631>Also the Digester's security protocols open a bunch of wormholes, hence we get a new planetHuh. I guess it nukes the planet while skedaddling through a new wormhole.
>CA's territorial claims are recognizedConsidering how objectively evil the CA is, this feels like a far fetched plot point just because some different client terrorists tried to explode them. The morats, Nexus operatives, umbra legates, sepsitors. First thing the CA did was go in guns blazing and enslave the humans on paradiso
>>95857821>this feels like a far fetched plot pointInfinity is a setting built on realpolitik. It doesn't matter how brutal the war has been, when Concilium is about to get eaten by rapidly-expanding breakdowns in reality that you don't even understand, and the EI offers negotiations for technology that could stop the problem cold, moral concerns go out the window and O-12 is homing in on the negotiating table faster than your fat coworker homes in on the donut box.
>>95857877It's still going too much too quickly. You have an alien civilization which committed the most heinous actions to enslave and convert you, with horrific weapons and tactics (like Shasvasti infiltrators completely replacing people), and you give them access to your governing council? To make further infiltrations and sabotage even easier? I'm not contesting the truce.
>>95857821No one suddenly decided they were good guys, they simply had overwhelming force through which to totally devastate the entire Human Sphere and left humanity with no choice. They would not have sought such a peaceful middle ground if not for the events on Concilium.
>>95858465Yes but consider the following: Speculo pussy
>>95858465My dude, a seat on the O12 was a condition of the truce. It's not like they declared truce to deal with the Digester and then O12 was like "Aww, c'mere buddy, have a seat and lets let bygones be bygones." They forced their way onto the council, no one is happy with this development, but humanity managed to a) not lose a heavily populated planet that was the seat of their central government and b) turn a massive invading army that was on the precipice of total military victory into just another squabbling faction that will backstab and be backstabbed in turn.
Also, most importantly, everyone's a greedy fuck, and humanity is willing to let CA continue to probe the Digester for secrets because it turns out it's a lot easier to steal secrets someone else has discovered than it is to discover them yourself.
>>95862246Actually wait, I forgot an important bit, the actual most important aspect: I'm willing to forgive goofy contrivances if it brings us back to deniable black ops as the focus of the game instead of 40k-style endless open warfare against an endless wave of aliens who never seem to actually win despite the technological, logistical, and numerical superiority.
>>95862246Considering the CA's advantage, not sure how humanity can steal anything from them unless it's a physical object.
>>95862297They mostly were winning, but the Human Sphere is just part of the CA's invasions.
Its all together possible we facing the B or C team, while they deal with races bigger than the Tohaa or Humans
>>95858663This is what a sepsitor does. It doesn't corrupt cubes, people just willingly switch sides for that alienussy
FNG question.
Do I need a DA weapon to shot and destroy stuff like deployable repeaters or mines?
>>958635551. the thing you're looking for is the "anti-materiel" trait, not just DA ammo.
2. You still don't need it for repeaters/mines, as they're just deployable weapons/equipment. HOWEVER, this is not the case with deployable cover, as it's considered a "Scenery Element" which does need the anti-materiel trait (or a deactivator).
alright, to that one (1) anon who was seemingly interested in the AAR report on the RPG game
>PCs have been hired as by Bureau Noir agent, tasked to investigate a PanO corpo exec who has been, according to said handler, framed, and accused of collaborating with the CA in the Human Edge
>the exec is on Caerostris-2 station, an ex-mining station, turned corporate blacksite, turned major settlement under the Meteora Group in the Trojan 2 point
>the evidence in the case files handed to the PCs, disguised as the exec's lawyer team, includes money transpher logs from one of the occupied zones on Paradiso, a flight log to a nameless asteroid where O12 mentions finding a small hideout with CA tech, and a video of the exec meeting with a shasvasti in his normal, alien form
>the exec claims he did neither of the things listed, and in fact, when O12 interrogated him, he said the video they showed him had a regular guy in it. He admitted to weird glitches in his aparment's domotics, and how his commlog one day stopped working and had it replaced.
>upon further inquiry, he admitted he had secret lab data stored on it that he wasn't allowed per company rules to take home, but he swears none of the data had been tampered with
>when inspecting his apartment, the domotics system logs did register glitchesโweird millisecond long delays, null errors that required sending a command twiceโbut closer inspection of the quantronics (with a rolled complication by one of the PC's) showed that the glitches were caused by inefficient or erroneous code strings with seemingly no source. They simply appeared in the system with no sign of tampering.
>at the same time, the PCs commlogs chimed with a notification but no messade was present, and the remote staggered for a fraction of a second when leaving the apartment.
And that's it for the first one, very brief due to last minute scheduling issues. If anyone is still actually interested, I will continue writing these AARs.
