Well "homeschool" is really just a polite way to say "throw the 10 year olds into the fight pit, the winner gets gene seed implantation", but as for farming mortals to feed the fight pits I was surprised too given the whole "the blood must flow" attitude. I guess after 10,000 years all the hard core fundamentalist khornates like that must have died off killing each other for the blood god, only ones that persist to the modern day are ones with a more "sustainable" interpretation of the blood scriptures.

Word bearer I'm afraid you were just given a very sheltered upbringing in the 17th, the circumstances coming out of the age of strife, and into the great crusade, and heresy were ripe for some worlds to be more receptive, and your legion was assigned to those worlds but for the rest of the astartes things have effectively always been this way.

Like I said this practice of proselyting isn't to draw in new worshipers its to filter the doubters and retain fit true believers, who will do whatever your Coryphaus asks to enrich and empower himself with no compensation for you, and if you get wise you might turn around and start doing the same instead of expecting the leadership to recognize your efforts in spreading the faith. In other words you're in a pyramid scheme.

what you do is find those already openly dissatisfied with the imperium, then work through their belief structures. It's not hard to find some, they send guard regiments against rebels all the time. underground rebels, people told they're heretics for any infraction, prisoners who opposed the status quo, exiled reformists, broken faith where molested by priests and didn't like it, primitives from overlooked feudal/feral worlders, agri world workers tricked by propaganda, pirates exiled for a paperwork issue from the merchant fleet, and rouge heretechs hiding on the run.
I find some and (in disguise) ask them about their troubles. Underhives for instance, are full of escapees who hated upper hive life. Just approach disguised, corral them together into communities with enough resources to survive(marked with your symbol). enforcers will descend eventually, but that's part of the plan.
Then I use the image already cultivated of us as avenging angels to "deliver them from evil" as a planted mortal agent prays for us before we make our entrance, I try to "grant wishes", cure cancer, kill rivals, implant augmetics (with trackers) then tell them when I knew the emperor, he was very clear to me that the imperium shouldn't be like this. It's short work smuggling them off world to "Outer-Terra"
I guess you can set up your cults as being emperor+friends, then slowly introduce chaos, I have a lot more great crusade tech leftover to do the healing. you'll need to make and gift/sell contraband. Better roids, sensory gells, lotions and the like. Go for seldom visited recruitment worlds and overpopulated shrine worlds, emptied ork worlds whose human slaves were left behind, they usually like ceramite giants showing up.

In all seriousness, though, it'd be interesting to see the writers work real world cult practices like love bombing and various sex cult things into Chaos, as they'd be a good fit for Nurgle and/or Slaanesh. I dunno, maybe they think that'd get "too real".

Just do what the Alpha Legion do. Take any niggling issue people have about society, organize people into that, and then trickle in corruption. Maybe it's tidbits of forbidden knowledge, tainted rhetoric, or you just give them daemon artifacts. The point is not to get people to accept chaos into their hearts, just into their souls.
