>>95857225>Star Wars, Star Trek, basically any nerd comunity got taken over by socialists>Star Trek [...] got taken over by socialistsThat's stupid as fuck, you've had your brain completely scooped out by culture war faggotry.
In broad strokes TOS is about as close to a lefty utopia as a mid-century series was allowed to be, TNG followed along in much the same vein, the subversion of that happened with DS9 in the 90s.
What's clearly happened is the balance of power has shifted away from the original creators, not just Roddenberry but the people that came along with him and after who respected and understood the material, and shifted toward studio meddling suits who fail to understand the franchise and are therefore doomed to shit it up. Or, as the anon you replied to wrote:

Take the reboot films as an example, JJ Abrams is on record saying he doesn't like Star Trek. It's explicit and unambiguous. Or this clip which contrasts a Leonard Nimoy interview explaining the origins of the Vulcan nerve pinch contrasted with a clip from Disco:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFTsctYfWEw
I've run out of time before I have to leave for work to talk about GW and Warhammer but that process is already complete. The seeds were sown with the takeover and public listing, and while Kirby's mismanagement obscures things a bit it's clear that it's over. 3 year editions are NOT socialist subversion but planned for maximum extraction of money from the playerbase.
Barring games getting fat and stupid on the HFCS of 40k refugee money, the rest of the hobby being smalltime firms by and for hobbyists gives it immunity from this crap.
