Tariffs swung massively instability into their market model, they ran out of funds, stock crashed and they've had to sell their most profitable IPs to other board game companies just to keep treading water.
Now most board game companies make everything in China, but most board game companies are not solely funded by KS and have a more distributed market outside the US even for what they are crowdfunding. Stuff like Zombicide and CMON's Marvel game are massively sold within the US even on KS. So most people have just slapped some extra shipping charges for Americans on the KSs they are running, but CMON got completely fucked. Not the first time a company has gone down like this, KS mismanagement is eternal, but probably the largest example.
