Ok niggas, I need to fill my fantasy game with miniatures.
I need to construct a 50 point box with minis.
Large minis costs 4 points
Medium minis cost 1 point
Tiny minis cost 1/2 point.
I already know I want at least an Owlbear and 6 goblins so that's 10 points away for me.
What are some quintaesencial fantasy enemies that I CANNOT forget here?
Creatures that are a must for fantasy games? I'm also going for some reusability here, I don't want to add like some rare endboss stuff like a a lich
You can't go wrong with wolves. You can always use more wolves. Also you can combine them with most enemies in most enviroments. Wolves and goblins in the forest, one wolf pet and a bandit in town, two wolves chained in a dungeon. Wolves.
(I'm not a furry btw and I'm not into watching knot porn)
>>95845855 (OP)Owlbears are hasbro's IP, you're going to get your ass sued
You need undead. They dont all have to be the same, but a scatter of at least six zombie, skeleton and ghoul minis should be flexible enough
>>95845855 (OP)>>95845886It's true, but you can call them wargs if goblins are riding them. In fact, and I'm not joking, look at Goblin Slayer for goblin types. Hobs, gob shaman, gob champions, Goblin lords. Another thing, Dungeon Meshi is good to look at. Yeah yeah, anime, but all Japanese euro-esque fantasy basically comes from the early editions of DnD, where the MOST essential monsters are usually present. A merperson, an undine, a golem, living armor, chest mimic, ghost and skeletons, etc. Nowadays people know about mind flayers from either Stranger Things or BG3, but I think they're LAME. Include something else that can do psychological or hallucination effects.
>>95846204>Nowadays people know about mind flayers from either Stranger Things or BG3, but I think they're LAMEbrother
I've been playing dnd for like 25 years and I always, always hated mindflayers, I always thought they were extremely gay and lame
but I also think all psyonic powers and related stuff is gay and lame
It's like
>"uuh I'm in your brain; I don't understand this gay stuff I'm seeing I'm insaaane aaah"cthulhu horror setting is also lame and gay
seconding something not gay OP, like a giant, or some creature with a big boulder. If you are going for minis, you can't ignore a giant boulder.
"uuuh miiiiind stuuuf oooh" has no place in miniatures
>>95846360I'm glad you agree mindflayers are lame and gay, but I think a single mind-type is actually good. But maybe it's more like a fungal or plant guy where the spores or pollen do it. WAY better than direct psionic stuff since you can prepare for it if they notice. Like wind magic to blow it away, or pissing on a rag and putting it over your mouth like a bandana. I also agree with a big boulder guy, like a troll, giant, or ogre.
>>95845855 (OP)What game/rules? Why are you applying points to minis? Why not use space constraints? It's not like points are more important than space when you carry the minis for your gaming session, unless there's something you're not telling us.
As for minis themselves, I'd add:
>slime/ooze/other vaguely dangerous amorphous blob>griffin or similiar-tier flying monster as mid-boss or heavy ambusher, plus fliers will fuck up stale party tactics>giant rats>bats, possibly vampiric>heavy blocker dude - rock golem or animated plate armor are classics>chest mimic if you use them>spiders - rat-sized, giant or swarm of plain ones>just-released hostage that doesn't help a lot but must be protected until rescued which means another less-predictable element on the battlemap
Buy cheap toys and glue. Cut up the toys and reassemble them.
>>95846531What's the difference between points assigned to space constrains, and space contrains
Also I like the hostage idea
>memorable, reusable, not too rare or endboss
>Large
Giant, Ogre, Minotaur, Giant Snake, Giant Scorpion, Steam Contraption, Troll, Dragon
>Medium
Dark Knight, Mimic, Mummy, Warlock, Pirate, Ninja, Wolf, Spider, Fishmen
>Tiny
insect cloud, imps, faeries, familiars, gnomes
>>95846843that looks like shindol, but I've fap to every shindol, or maybe I didn't?
>>95846789can't go wrong with a good 'ol giant scorpion
>>95846360Absolutely braindead post
Nicely scaling: a few rats, some Skaven-like shit, a single monstrous rat unit - combined with your goblins that's already a pretty alright sewer crew.
And anon is right, you need undead, they also offer some nice variety.
>>95846913Cultural Anthropology, LN in the chart
>inb4: what chart
>>95846204Mind Flayers were fucking cool for decades before BG3 and Stranger Things were even a sperm. And I'll never forgive those franchises for ruining them.
>>95846360There are no red crayons remaining in your lunchbox because they're your favorite flavor.
>>95847590Even when I read the Drizzt prequels upon release, I thought they were dumb. Squid heads? Get real man. Octopuses and squids are cool on their own and don't need humanoid bodies.

>>95853717furries need some love too y'now
>>95845886(I'm not a furry btw and I'm not into watching knot porn)
>>95845855 (OP)At least one giant
A bunch of gnolls
A black dragon (the coolest kind of dragon)
A couple of generic dudes for all of the common races (humans, elves, dwarves)
A horse-drawn wagon (this will get a LOT of use)
A giant snake
Giant spiders
>>95855402>A horse-drawn wagon (this will get a LOT of use)we enslaved the first humanoid that engage in a fight with us, and he's been carrying our shit ever since
bandits, cultists and rats
>>95846647have you ever interacted with a physical object?
>>95845855 (OP)Bird Brain and Chest Paints make up for the rest of those terrible names.
>>95845855 (OP)Little red demons and one big red demon
>>95857888Imagine asking this nigger for the measurements of his house, and he literally chops the foundations, carry the house on a semi-truck and goes
>Here! My physical house! You asked me about the measurements, right?lol
