A lot of Star Trek is fairly pulpy as it is and the same things in STA that make that work, like its dice resolution and metacurrencies, are present in Conan 2d20 too. They are using the same basic engine just at two different levels of crunch. Conan and D&D are also not really gunning for similar styles of fantasy either so it's not like they're two things in the same space. Conan's setting is also not well serviced by D&D's assumptions, where as Conan 2d20 is purpose built to facilitate it. It's also just a better game by a good distance IMO.
