Not really, it is really hard to play or run a D&D scenario where mortal guards are an actual threat so they just fade into the background until someone starts murder-hoboing.

The campaign takes place in Edwardian England, so a "guard" is either one of the Bobbies, which strike fear into crimbos and ne'er-do-wells across London, or the actual Guard units of His Majesty's Life Guard. Which, as the elite of the British military and direct representatives of the King, are generally given respect regardless of who they're dealing with.

Typically. Though we did have one game were shit got pretty First Blood really fast. That was a fun campaign.
