Has your group ever picked theme songs for their characters?
I played in one group where we did and it was fun. We picked two songs each for our guys, one combat and one non-combat, and they got used during solo scenes, and my character's song ended up as boss music when he eventually became an NPC after betraying the party. (Justified btw, they were gonna drop a magic nuke on a city full of civilians)

My group played online.
Some of us did pick some songs that fit our characters, but they didn't end up played because we forgot at the time.
One or two or three important NPCs did have a song chosen by the GM to play at their grand entrance, but he of course had time to set it all up.

In the end the one time a music theme was used for my character was me putting it in the background while I doodled it outside of session time.

It wasn't an official thing, but in the last game I was a player in, my PC kinda had 'Turbo Killer' as a joking lietmotif when he hit the combat stims.

Yes! A few of us were big wrestling marks so sometimes we'd pick walk on songs. It was super fun.

Oh, I forgot one. This wasn't the players, but something I did as a GM. Any time the Road Wardens showed up, I heralded them with an instrumental rendition of the Panzerlied. This was something my previous GM had done, and I just found it amusing, so I kept it.

The only time I didn't do it, the "Road Wardens" in question were in fact highwaymen scouting a caravan camp.

Cringe is based.
Be more cringe.
The shit you thought was cool when you were 12 years old is actually still cool and you should not be ashamed of it.

I have a 100-song playlist for the campaign I've been running for the past three years. It isn't played during sessions, but it covers major events and characters. Each of the PCs has an original theme, a "Descent" theme, and a "Return" theme, riffing on the Campbellian Heroes' Journey. So you might have
>Žüťilé's Theme
>Žüťilé's Descent
>Return of the Prince of Ash

Okay, let's go
My first char was a moody, weird disgraced lord/knight who had a hateboner for elves and wanted to become emperor, being named Mikhael-as so we kinda have these two for him

and

Second one was an elven assassin lady who was recruited by the party and given a non-elven name (she only had a moniker before), being named Gladys. Got into worshipping one of the evil fallen deities in the setting, but drew good from his teachings. So you have these two

Third char I played was named Theodore, but adopted the edgy moniker Scintillifer as his whole schtick was seeking out hidden magical knowledge and sticking it to Big Magic. He actually has one theme as the character was very well-established and well-written compared to most others.
