Why didn't anyone tell me that stars in 4e/Nentir Vale are actually living, malevolent eldritch horrors from beyond balefully gazing down at humanity?
That's such a metal cosmic horror concept from such a vanilla setting.

It doesn't add anything.
4e's fluff was so inexpertly wrought.

You know that all rpgs settings are all just made up ideas in a game of imagination, right? If you like endrich planets and stars so much, you can just add them to any setting you run yourself. No need to wait for a company to sell you a product or edition saying you can do it, you can just use the idea yourself, whenever you like.

>Using your imagination to create your own setting, instead of just buying some slop someone else made, is lazy.
Corporate hands typed those words.

WotC were stupid and never put out a proper setting book for Nentir Vale where that sort of information could be easily accessed. And of the small number of people who actually used that setting, and the smaller number who read the fluff about the stars, only a tiny proportion found a way to make that in any way relevant to their characters' ground-based adventures in any greater way than "look at this spooky monster that you're only interested in the statblock of".

Are you asking if a ttrpg that came out 14 years before Elden Ring was copying Elden Ring lore?
