What’s the benefits of a TTRPG over other games or wordbuilding?

I require the companionship of other humans, but also crave structured activity.

Also, fun creative writing.

Also, dice go click clack.

Why don't you look at the replies to that tweet you screenshotted if you really want to know?

For people who like to lose themselves in immersive fantasy, it's pretty much the ultimate entertainment. I like them for the same reason I like books, movies, and games. I'm entertained by losing myself to fantasies.
TTRPGs are cool because they are as hyper-distilled and personalized as these fantasies can really get, and it also acts you to use your own imagination, instead of being purely a passive consumer. Most other forms of entertainment you can only judge. In an RPG, you can participate.

Daydreamers. Those who are prone to abstract escapism. They consider what it would be like to live in a different type of existence. People who aren’t into RPGs may just be content to live in the world they’re in.

Still, this isn’t really satisfying, and there are plenty of casuals in the hobby.
