Why are secondary market prices for TGCs so much higher in the US than in EU? Some of the foils are like 2 or 3 times more expensive in the americas
>>95897891 (OP)Americans earn more money, pay less taxes, and are willing to pay way more because they rarely keep savings.
Going from paycheck to paycheck is common behaviour there, but not in Europe.
>>95897924I dont think thats true, at least not the income and tax parts. I picked italy at random and the bottom 50% are actually earning more than the bottom 50% of americans. As for tax, italians in that bracket only pay about 4000 usd more, and they dont have hidden costs like health insurance or medical costs to worry about. In fact, assuming everyone pays the average healthcare cost per year the euro comes out nearly 7k ahead
>>95898292>Ameritard starts to figure out what's upI'd migrate, before Home Security starts knocking.
Pay more, buyfag. You must spend your monies
>>95898292>and the bottom 50% are actually earning more than the bottom 50% of americanThe bottom 50% are neither playing nor buying TCGs Anon.
>>95897891 (OP)Because folks in US of A are hard wired since childhood to consoom, even if american have no money he will just use credit card because what's another 500$ when he's alredy 20k$ in debt anyway. This is also why corporations and companies from around the world love american market and consumer, they will buy everything especially garbage they don't need even if they have no money to do so. You can sell cards for more because you will find retard who will buy it at higher price.
>>95900288>The bottom 50% are neither playing nor buying TCGs Anon.(X) Doubt
They might not drive the market cap like whales do, but MTG and collectibles in general are incredibly popular in the trailer park crowd.
>>95898292I don't know why you would choose the bottom 50% of earners when they are, by definition, a smaller amount of yhe total share of total disposable income
>>95898299I love how you've cropped the part of that bar graph that says the income data is from 2020 lol.
>>95900288Delusional
>>95900567Because its hard to take the bottom 80% when everything is reported in quartiles, and because it gives us the average, and because even if the richest 25% are the ones investing in black lotuses the reseale value is dependent on a rhobust primary market. Its only worth 100k if you can actually sell it for that much, and if noone is buying mtg cards in general then its just paper
>>95900604Thats phoneposting for you, i cant stretch the collage
>>95897891 (OP)America pays nerds too much. Europe pays them less in careers like tech so they can't get as uppity.
Americans in general have much higher salaries/disposable income. Especially for the more well-to-do upper middle class types that drive most of the sales in TCGs.
TCGs are also just more popular and there are more/higher density of people buying, trading, selling. More demand, more money in the game. More "whales", more "investors", etc. In some ways I'm actually surprised the difference isn't mlre pronounced than it is.
>>95897891 (OP)because Euros are fucking poor.
>>95902084GDP per capita is not a measure of personal income, retard
>>95902114doesn't change the fact that Euros are poor faggots
>>95897891 (OP)the us industries as a rule hate secondary markets. any transaction of product away from the original supplier is seen as loss. so they influence obsolescence regulations and laws and create artificial scarcity in supplies to control the aftermarket, and have sellers that will only resell at or above market value, to drive up aftermarket value and encourage new purchases
