>Thread Question:How important are the aesthetics of a unit when you consider buy/using it?
>TQ
incredibly
if I don't like how the official model looks, I will autistically convert something instead
I still don't care for the terminators but the dread has grown on me quite a bit.
>>95897941 (OP)>How important are the aesthetics of a unit when you consider buy/using it?It's at least a contender for the most important thing
>>95897941 (OP)>1d6chanWhat's the difference between it and 2d4chan?
>>95897966God on one hand I like the eye of horus chest so much aesthetically but on the other hand every traitor Legion using the eye feels like a gay cop out
It's funny how all the people shooping leviathans next to the saturnine always have the latter be at least twice as tall as the leviathan, yet every official comparison shows the size difference is much smaller.
>>95897941 (OP)>TQIts the most important thing, idc about taking the fluff or rules seriously, they are just a framework for me to smash my cool robots and tanks together
>>95897982different number probability distribution
>>95897941 (OP)>How important are the aesthetics of a unit when you consider buy/using it?Very, I wont use ugly units.
>>95897990these aren't the actual models though?
>>95897989I mean he was the Warmaster. Even loyal legions were using it before the heresy.
>>95897990>>95898010They aren't next to each other here, but you can at least get an idea of the size difference.
>>95898027He looks like the drummer for the heaviest metal band in the Imperium
https://poal.me/8uyx6y
https://poal.me/8uyx6y
https://poal.me/8uyx6y
The saturnine dread is going to have a 4++, isn't it?
>>95898057Only if the Leviathan does. It'll probably have more wounds and maybe a point more toughness.
>>95898048oh dude, SATURNINE ARE 3 TIMES THE SI-- NO 4 TIMES THE SIZE OF LEVIATHANS!!!!
>>95897966Yeah same. The heads and gorgets options look fantastic.
>>95897990Both the dread and the terminators are good imho. People would love the dread if it wasn't for the (better) Leviathan already existing and the Terminators only work really well in the iron legions. Neither look good in Sally colors imho and both would come off way better in a generic army composition and not alongside nothing but infantry, like the new box cover. Maybe I'm just dumb though, because all the horrible 40k releases of the last decades melted my brain and I think everything not dogshit looks good...
It looks like the legs are posable like normal. Just how much you can pose this thing without it looking stupid is a different question.
>>95897966If it ever got melee options I might reevaluate, but right now it just looks goofy to me. Plus I can't help but focus on the "other face" it has up top.
>>95898048Remember when the Acastus knight went from this to being as big as a Warhound? The creep is eternal.
>>95898110>psykers are better at using it because they can better ignore the screaming of its machine spirit
>>95898114I still mourn that the Porpyhrion became this big unwieldy brick rather than a regular-ass fire-support knight
>>95898077This is a complex kit for a starter set, they really are going in hard on filtering people.
>>95898069The saturnine don't look good. In terms of design they're out of place and we haven't seen a decent paintjob yet though when they're scuffed up they're a little better. They do have a lot of open panel space and details on their guns and reactors so they might be fun to fiddle with, but they don't look good.
The dreadnought looks better because it's got detail that shows off how heavy it is. Its biggest problem is the guns looking goofy as fuck.
>>95897966I didn't know it had so many alternate front panels and helmets. maybe its not so bad afterall
>>95898149They're just not bothering to produce an easy-build kit anymore.
>>95898167*saturnine terminators
>>95897941 (OP)There really should have just been an apex detachment of 4 warmachines instead of the one in an aux detachment.
>>95898167What are the OG art and saturnine model design?
>>95898195I'm sure the new Master Of Treadicus will let you take a full detatchment of tanks/dreads.
>>95898167>and we haven't seen a decent paintjobThe RG one looked good
>>95898205I dunno what you mean by that. What were they supposed to be?
>Avatar of Scorn, piloted by Golgorath
Yes, these are suitably metal names for the IW. Feels like all the new stuff keeps getting called "siege" this and "siege" that, which makes Pert happy. Wish we had some solid shell options though. Just give me big fuckoff battlecannons to mount on the arms, where are the heavy bolter chest guns?
>>95898110Fuck now I see another face.
>>95898167Also funny that they seem really strong rules-wise so HH battlefields will suddenly be transformed by a new type of terminator that had Always Been There Actually.
>>95898250So which chest nipples are those? Volkite?
>>95898253lmao, hope someone paints it up like this
>>95898250>When you got decimated, but at least Perturabo let you pilot the dread build like a fortress wielding fuckhuge guns
>>95898232I was curious what their original design were like and if they used heavy weapon or not
>>95898265>they seem really strong rules-wiseIn what world.
They seem like they cant compete even with 2.0 terminators, let alone whatever new rules they will end up with.
>>95898250Why does this look so good when the Saturnine look so goofy, when they're drawing from the same design cues?
>>95898281Artwork aside as far as I can tell that's the only kind of model saturnine had.
>>95898253Lol this just flips the face dynamic
>Focus brother Anura, you have control of locomotion, I need you to drive me forward so I can hit them with my gun>But brother Furioso, these stinky mahreens have so many tasty flies around them
>>95898289Dreadnought coffin is less goofy than man inside fuckhuge suit
>>95898289It's almost like the cartoonish, over-saturated and excessively highlighted painting scheme that eavy metal does for GW's show models actually makes everything look like ass,
>>95898268>These primary weapon mounts were combined with point-defence weapons, such as photonic incinerators or concussive resonators โ all quite potent in their own right, making the Saturnine Dreadnought a terrifying prospect to engage in a short-ranged firefight.Unclear if those are the only two options
>>95898114Shit that Acastus looks so much better than the one we got.
On topic, I wanted to use my Knight army for HH but I read that their rules are basically ass, does anyone reckon that they're gonna be better in 3.0 or are they gonna be left in the dump?
>>95898308Possibly worse.
On the one hand they might get better at killing dreadnoughts, on the other hand they might get easier to kill now that damage(multiple) weapons are more common.
>>95898308who the fuck knows, they're apparently impossible for GW brainlettes to balance, and as such are doomed to forever ocellate between OP That Guy bullshit and absolute garbage bin Militia-tier
>>95898289The dreadnought looks heavy as fuck. The legs are great because the thighs are just this huge thicc piston. There's gear tracks all over like on the waist and inside the pelvis joints and the elbows. The head is surrounded by layers of armor not just a single solid slab like on the leviathan.
I'm gonna retract my previous statements I think the dreadnought looks good. I'm changing my mind especially after seeing the sprues.
>>95897966it's hard to justify keeping this thing when I can sell it and pick up more rhinos and contemptors than I'll ever need, but damn do I like that giant disintegrator.
>inversion beamer that gets stronger the closer you are to your target
Sick
>>95897941 (OP)Post Models/WIPS/Games
So the new multi-D weapons means dreads and automata are going to be MUCH easier to kill right?
>>95898342>take a conversion beamer >flip the batteries around
>>95898342a shame it looks like a delicate piece of machinery that would break easily at close range. Also you don't have any melee weapons for when you inevitably get charged and tarpitted by the squad of tacticals you were shooting
>>95898352Yes, it's gonna take half as many lascannon shots as in 2.0 provided the unit remained stationary
>>95898308Left in the dump. With all the anti-vehicle weapons doing more damage they got a paltry HP increase. No more side armor is okay. WS4 means they're still insufficient in combat, and with no attacks buff they'll be doing less damage than they do now because they'll get no bonus attacks.
Instead of a fist they should give it a buzzsaw or a wrecking ball
>>95898367>provided the unit remained stationarymovement changes damage?
>>95898352Probably not, they will get some durability buffs
>>95898377The Heavy rule now means the weapon gains a +1 to a stat if fired whilst stationary. For lascannons it's +1 to damage, increasing their damage to 2
>>95898377The heavy keyword now gives you a bonus to a characteristic instead of forcing snap shots, lascannons to from damage 1 to 2 if they don't move for example
>>95898308I want my Dominus suits back, damn it. They're supposed to be older than the Imperium like all knight suits so nobody can pull the RnD card.
We know the Termies have innate DS, why not give it to the dread too? It's a slow lumbering fuck with short range weapons after all. I'm sure you can stick a teleport device somewhere in there
>>95898376Hell yeah, a siege saw for opening up fortifications.
>>95898382>>95898384Well that's fucking retarded.
I hate that all of the Saturnine Dreadnought's weapons are some form of energy weapon. I want solid ammo. I love storm cannons so give me that but bigger.
>>95898391The termies do in fact not have innate deep strike
>>95898391>the Termies have innate DSYou have to attack a 260 point praetor for their deepstrike.
>>95898382I hate that they ported this gay-ass rule over from 40k. Does it exist because GW thinks its players can't plan more than one turn ahead?
>>95898403>>95898405but don't they have options for the teleport bit on the model?
>>95898399That would be a waste of the dreadnoughts reactor output. You have leviathans and rapiers for lots of dakka
>>95898411Those are for the shields.
>>95898354>flip the batteries around>deconversion reamer
>>95898431The ones that give them 4+ invulns.
>>95898352Dreadnought are going to have -1D, Im calling it now
Automata will not, obviously
>>95898448No, they glow when they teleport in. Also like 9 teleport in here without an HQ. I think one of the articles called it a teleport bit too
>>95898411If they join a 260p saturnine praetor, they can deepstrike with him
They don't get to do it on their own
>>95898406Probably because it meant certain weapons on certain units (like multi-meltas on hss for example) just never saw any use ever.
It could also be argued that marines should be able to take a knee and fire off a quick shot with heavy weapons whilst on the move. Which would not be as effective as staying in one place and taking careful aim, but maybe not to the point of it being snap shots.
>It also makes no sense that units can't move and shoot heavy weapons, unless shot at in which case they return fire with perfect accuracy
>>95898455It was already confirmed that a meltagun at close range can one-shot a deredeo. That doesn't sound like -1 damage to me.
>>95898461Needs more skulls.
>>95898478>confirmed>Warcom Lol
>>95898475No, it cannot be argued that a marine on foot should be able to fire a lascannon while running and have it not be a snap shop. Go fuck yourself.
>>95898478I'm not going to believe anything coming from the warcom intern until I see it on a book desu
But dreads could have easily had their wound dropped. Specially if they come with a -1D mechanic.
>>95898391>We know the Termies have innate DSAs far as we saw from the rules? They dont. You need to stick on a saturnine praetor to DS them, so its a really expensive option. If they could do it solo the atomic shredder bomb would be much more attractive.
>>95898505>>95898475It's almost as if moving shouldn't change damage, just the accuracy. Like say... a -1 to hit?
>>95898347Slowly working on my Deliverers and Praetor. Decided to build a sacrificial interceptor taker. Can't decide if I want to make the tassels on the unit dark leather to match the Praetor.
Have a game in two weeks against DG. It's going to be a destroyer/phosphex off and should be brutal.
>>95898413YOU'RE a waste of reactor output! >:(
>>95898505>The eight foot tall genetically modified supersoldier in a highly advanced powered armor suit shouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn because he moved half an inch to get better footing
>>95898517Surely those are just the quickstart rules and missing half the text. No way they're S4 for example. And what's the point of having a secondary flamer if you can't fire it while moving?
>Atomic Shredder bombIt amuses me to no end that the deadliest weapons on the new termies are the tiny sidearms. Imagine if the main draw of a Vet bomb was the bolt pistols
>>95898347Havenโt had hobby time so have my WIL Decurion again.
>>95898391As others said not natively, which is weird. There may be prime slot benefits that grant deepstrike in certain generic/legion detachments though.
The dread did teleport in during the trailer. But that could be via a salamander rule or some sort of drop assault detachment.
>>95898537>Surely those are just the quickstart rules and missing half the text. No way they're S4 for example. And what's the point of having a secondary flamer if you can't fire it while moving? Those are the rules based on the profiles in the article. The quickstart rules are different entirely.
>>95898535Better footing isn't a game mechanic.
Moving round LoS-blocking objects or flat our repositioning are, but that'd be actual movement, and not your flimsy strawman.
So what are those supposed to be?
They look more like adratic disintegrators than the new design for disintegrators
>>95898544The dread is the only one that doesn't teleport in. There's a big explosion from the plasma bombard, and then we see the dread slowly walking up to the fight.
Which makes it weird if you think about it, they had to drive their entire tank convoy with preds and LRs into this ambush valley, I guess the dread was just hauling ass and keeping up with the tanks? Unless it can fit inside a LR somehow. Maybe ride on top of it?
>>95898552Photonic incinerators or concussive resonators. Looks like the latter to me. Technically a noise weapon if you squint, and those do kinda look like speakers
>>95898557That's 100% a teleport energy wave. That area was devoid of any foot troops at the start of the animation. No way that dread suddenly ran there. Everyone else had a transport or teleported in as well.
>>95898572>>95898557The dreadnought also got soloed by an IW centurion, so maybe its not an accurate representation of the rules idk.
>>95898572no, it's a plasma bombard. The IW sees it coming and it gets brighter as it approaches, and it even has a sound effect. Also it explodes in dark-ish blue energy and knocks the guy back, while the teleporting Satties just casually TP in without smoke or shockwaves
>>95898405War Mongerer pls
>>95898584>soloedWe just see the guy running at it firing a combi melta, we don't know how the fight ended. Dread seems to be shrugging it off. Then again it has no melee weapons, so maybe the Centurion just disassembled it over 6 rounds of combat by hitting it with the maul
>>95898594No official model, no rules :^)
>>95898584Not exactly, the trailer ended before we saw the result of that confrontation. The centurion was melting some of the front plating with his combi-melta, but the dreadnought didn't seem particularly bothered by it.
>>95898526What red is that? Kino scheme, also are those axes inside the fist?
>>95898594Its possible the warmonger also gets a similar rule to the saturnine praetor (can only grant DS to similar troops). So a cata warmonger gives cata terminators DS, a tartaros gives tartaros termies, a regular gives regular troops DS
>>95898600>>95898602It cuts to the two fags on terra talking about how the assault has failed.
Obviously this could mean "istvan at large" but in the narrative language of the trailer it seems to mean that salamanders attack.
>>95898601Not in 3.0 where they release journals that explicitly tell you to poach and kitbash. The first of which is the Augery Command and Control Squad.
:^)
>>95898607Mephiston, with Blood Angels contrast over it, and selective nuln oil shading. And thanks! It's very similar to official scheme, just slight tweaks. They're count as chainfists. I used plasticard and replaced the teeth with the cleavers.
>>95898611Even if the assault failed, it doesn't mean it was due to the Centurion killing the dread. For starters, the IW ambush was clearly not the assault force's main target, they got ambushed on the way. So whatever fortified position they were planning to assault is still standing somewhere else, and if the Sallies won that skirmish then now they have a severely depleted force to try and take the other spot, not looking good. And if this was indeed the main fight, you could hjust have the dread shot by tarantulas after it kills the Cent
>>95898611>but in the narrative language of the trailer it seems to mean that salamanders attack. That is schizo logic, did you forget to take your meds again?
>>95898591Doubt, plus the dread is bigger, hence the shock where pinning rules in 2.0 originally from. How else does it appear out of thin air? We call that teleporting.
>>95898630>t by tarantulas after it kills the CentDidnt the Saturnine praetor deal with them?
>>95898631>show fight start>cut away>X side has lostThat clearly implies one outcome does it not?
>>95898635>How else does it appear out of thin air?Adeptus slasher-villain-us
>>95898611No it was definitely talking about how Istvaan V failed. The literal next sentence was about the betrayal of the other 4 legions.
You know I think implacable advance will be shared by all Terminators and allow them to volley fire with all weapons, which would be a really interesting Buff if combi bolters also go to 4 shots with no twin linked.
>>95898626Thanks, I'm looking for a decent red scheme for a blood angels project. I do like how Deliverers is basically uno reverso of the Justaerin scheme.
>>95898478>>95898501They literally went back and removed Deredeo from the example lol. Now it just says Predator.
Literally anything on Warcom that isn't a snippet from something else is unreliable.
>>95898630Youre right, it doesent necessitate the outcome. It doesent even have to be the specific assault the emperors onahole and the banana are talking about (why would they be talking about some no-name formation when theres primarchs and shit on the field, how would they even know the exact time given how warp travel works)
But the narrative language of the trailer says something on its own. It shows some salamanders get ambushed by/attack some iron warriors, and then at the finale when the forces close in on each other it cuts away to reveal that "the attack (offensive?)" has sadly lost.
>>95898664didn't implacable advance use to be scoring?
They replaced his Crusade Force Organization chart with 8th edition style detachments. He mad!!!
>>95898666It's intentional; they trained with them under Horus. He even had them as part of his retinue until Corax came along and took them.
>>95898692Yeah I'm aware, very cool bit of lore, the terran ravens were based.

Isn't that kinda shit?
You can't stop charges with them or prevent overwatch or return fire and no matter how many weapon you shoot them with it's only ever the 1 test...
At least for pinning that's a pretty big nerf
>>95898741This is not inspirational

>>95898799The morale subphase isn't a phase in itself, it happens at the end of each phase. It's the same thing as the current test for 25% casualties at the end of each phase, just in a discrete step.
>>95898831So it IS a nerf for pinning, since that was after each attack. Less predictable now, and not stackable. Pinning is also individually weaker, only doing a part of what it used to do.
>>95898841It was never stackable and always checked at the end of the shooting phase but only one check. People like to roll for it right away as to not forget if there aren't any shell shock weapons mixed in later.
>>95898855You're right, it does say tarantula.

Is cybertheurgy a kind of psychic power? The lore bit for the saturnine terminators say there's rumours that they need a little bit of cybertheurgic resonance, but the lore bit for the dread says that like the terminators, there are rumours you need a little bit of psychic power. (Doubly referencing that regarding the TS buddy). Is that warcom fucking up, or is cybertheurgy just another branch of psychic power?

Cybertheurgy is basically being a hacker; there's more to it, but it's a reasonable shorthand.
>>95898991In which case, which one's the fuckup? Cybertheurgy makes more sense, 'cos machine, but then the TS dude's bit is just complete nonsense.
>>95898991Can I hack time?
>>95898955There are psykers with an affinity for technology, who can do things like mend a broken machine with a mere touch. The lore about saturnine seems to hint at those using it possibly requiring at least some latent psychic talent in that direction to fully interface with the armour.
>>95898991>>95898995Worth mentioning that Machine Spirits are real and complex enough machines have apresence in the warp, so there's overlap between the disciplines
i have twenty two plus one (praetor) saturnines printed but i think i only want three squads of six for a total of eighteen (the third for appending from a sister company) and hope that there will be a command squad option to allocate the remainder to
centurions might be called for instead as well
just gonna sit patiently on the extras until the libers i think

The best thing about the new edition is that It'll finally allow me to field my dream custodes allied force of a shield captain, 20 sagittarum guard, and 5 aquilon terminators
>>958987413m *in armour* you dumb fuck. Guess what sort of rough height a regular-ass Marine would be once you factor in the bootie lifts and big cowl over the head on a Terminator...
>>95898743Those would be the original Saturnine suits used briefly at the outset of the Great Crusade until they proved to be maintenance queens and got supplanted by Cataphractii. The plastic kits are for Vulkan's late-Crusade redesign of the core technologies into new units.
>>95899067Oh holy shit you're right. Finally my ridiculously autistic rework of the Custodes' internal structure can be represented on the tabletop. And if they nerf Adrathic like they did regular Disintegrators it won't even be a cheesebeard army I have to purposefully nerf in order to avoid being a cunt, woo.
>>95899022God I hate that retcon. Machine spirits were supposed to be a combination of three tropes: normies lamenting the "magic smoke" escaped their (to them)black box tech, old people struggling to understand why they can't get the remotamaphone to tell the tellymajigger to record their stories, and blatant lies of convenience meant to knowing-winkingly conceal the fact there were still a few AIs around despite the dogma. Making the animist beliefs of the Mechanicus *literally true* is so fucking lowest-common-denominator dull and boring.
>>95898741But terminators were always same size(eye level) as normal marines in power armour. It make sense because it's armour, meant to be worn over user's own body, terminators were just bulkier but not that much larger than power armour.
Saturnine is warsuit/battlesuit that was mislabeled for marketing purposes.
>>95899171>Making the animist beliefs of the Mechanicus *literally true* is so fucking lowest-common-denominator dull and boring. They shouldn't have believed so hard and gave the machines souls inadvertently then.

>>95899171>Making the animist beliefs of the Mechanicus *literally true*except they are, in actuality, in many ways, if rendered through a distorted and demented lens, in certain angles of the cult
everything, even the apparently inanimate, is ensouled and conscious, and the cosmos at large is the very body of the omnissiah/God which exists for its children to learn and grow and frolic about in
i don't think you could much advance the notion of there not actually being a material universe whatsoever to a techpriest though
>>95899022Machine spirit is just term for internal components that allowed equipment to function. It's just internal computer. Some are better like Land Raider or Drop Pod and some are worse like Leman Russ.
Land Raider's machine spirit can take controll of tank even with crew dead because it's physical component that is connected to vehicle's systems. It's fucking ball that's located behind sensor thingie above assault ramp. We even saw machine spirit modeled on chaos discolord, where chaos marine hardwired machine spirit to his daemon engine mount.
Machine spirit is not warp related, it's just machine's internal computer.

>>95898600>>95898602The diorama GW made shows the centurion facing off with Vulkan. Either he killed the dread and went on to fight a primarch, or he took down a primarch and went on to fight a dread.

>>95899518At this point I would have to ask, what's the point of big dreadnoughts? Like Leviathan made sense as heaviest variant for dedicated siege roles, then they made saturnine even bigger, that use super rare and super expensive weapons, have super expensive systems and require psychic marine pilot, because each legion have multiple almost dead marines with psychic abilities...
At some point just take knights, there are more houses than there are marines and each serious house have 500 or more suits anyway, way more than legion will even have super specialised super big dreadnoughts.

>>95899867Deredeo is just heavy support/devastator squad of dreadnought, all it's weapons are same range as lascannon, so it operates still in infantry weapon range. Also deredeo's weapon's aren't good for sieges, it's build for field battle in support of infantry, autocannons, lascannons and volkite, it either chew infantry or vehicles, but nothing to go against fortifications.
Leviathan on other hand is dedicated siege engine, in 1.0 was called siege dreadnought, it's as main weapon it's armed with combination of siege drills or siege claws with built in meltaguns to melt walls, very big fucking melta to melt bunker wall, short range autocannon that shreds infantry or big grav cannon that ignores covers and collapse buildings. In addition it also have close range weapons to clear enemy infantry and besides that it can have phosphex that is either used by war crime destroyer corps or by siege breakers.
Deredeo can't do much against fortifications, Leviathan is design build to fuck up fortifications by either drilling the walls and killing everyone inside, blasting leviathan sized hole in wall with melta, or simply collapsing building with graviton explosion.

They are meant for battlefield fire support depending on configuration to shread infantry or vehicles not to engage enemy in fortifications.
Also marine version of siege mean encirclement for total of 5 minutes and then creation of breach and assault, because marines are inpatient and hate waiting when they could be killing enemies of Emperor. And hair doesnt naturally stick straight up so they have to lube it between every single action. Oh, and it entirely ruins the ability to stealthily hug a barricade and shoot over it without giving away your position. And enemy bolter and autocannon shots would constantly be hitting the stupid ceramite hair-cone knocking his head back throwing off his aim and distracting him mid-fight. And the biological hair and hole in the helmet makes it impossible for the space marine to have any meaningful NBC protection, so any nearby deathguard plagues and suddenly his hair melts away and the turbo-farts go down into his helmet and eliminate the skank of horus trooper.

>>95900916So hyped for this, the lack of skitarii was the only thing that made me stop getting at least an allied detachment of mechanicum. I like the weird esoteric tanks and cyborg infantry aspect waaaaay more than the dull and boring big stompy robots that 30k mech has been so far.
>>95899272This is only partially true, since all computational equipment in the Mechanicum is required to have an organic component in order to obey the animus silica ban. You can't have self-directing, purely electronic computers.
There has to be a bit of a squishy brain in there somewhere, which happens to give it the smallest amount of warp presence depending on the item in question.
Even in 30k, things like the Paragons of Metal are automata that have gained a certain amount of sentience because of that.
For simple equipment that has no self-guidance, it's almost certainly just electronic nonsense coded to function via Mechanicum prayers. For bigger things, Land Raider included (That black ball is a brain in a case), it's a partial cyborg.
>>95900916Finally
It was always kind of weird how the cybernetica and ordo reductor are described as these very small, very mistrusted subsects that were always peripheral to everything else...and then they ended up being the only representations of the Mechanicum in 30k besides knights and titans.
>>95900931>I like the weird esoteric tanks and cyborg infantry aspect waaaaay more than the dull and boring big stompy robots that 30k mech has been so far.But that's what thallax are (and why I picked up mechanicum at all too)

Are these silver things supposed to be tail-lights?
>>95900957Nah thallax are only a head and spine inserted into a robot body, not proper old skool cyborgs. Also the models are too large to my liking.
>>95900916I think it would be neat if the gun was fused to their arm to some extent.
>>95900973then it's a servitor
>>95900985Are thallax servitors?
>>95900970Just some random details to make the rear plate less plain probably.
>>95900970Brake lights. Dont want to have a pile up in a squadron.
>>95900985Your mum is a servitor
>>95900971There's not really much more left of skitarii, in fact that's why the black books say skitarii are preferred volunteers for thallax because they're already mostly robot and have the will to survive the transformation. Being based on Robocop 2, they're as old school of cyborg as you can get.
>Also the models are too large to my liking. They're not really taller than the nuscale Mk3/Mk6, they're just really fiddly and complicated.
>>95900916Hopefully those are proper Mechanicum skitarii, and not some similar skitonoids armed with galvanit repeaters and polonium carbines and stuff.
Actual fucking Skitarii.
>>95901024>They're not really taller than the nuscale Mk3/Mk6Guess what my opinion is of the nu-Mk's.
And thallax are still twice as wide.
>>95901033So how aren't skitarii too tall if they're taller than old Mks
>>95900916I hate it, looks like a Tusken raider
>>95900916It won't be skitarii, it will be some tech-priest or some special assassin cyborg that is not skitarii.
>>95901042How do you know, have you seen the new 30k skitarii models next to the new marines? Post pics please.
>>95900971>not proper old skool cyborgs. They are cyborgs of the most proper school there can be. Just what passes for cyborgs among your misbegotten kind, then? :^)
>>95901049bro you paint the cloak like an animal pelt
>>95901054Do you think they're going to be smaller than tech-thralls, who are taller than old marines
>>95900916>skitarii are gonna get a second kit before Secutarii get one plastic kitGo fuck yourself, James, you stupid fuckup. You complete failure. You ignorant oaf incapable of observing yourself.
>>95900970Looks like an outlet to me
>>95901064And these tech Thralls are smaller than the old tech Thralls
>>95901064Haven't seen those models in real life yet, post some next to a marine.
And why do you sound this angry about me not liking how large the thallax models are, jeez.
>>95901064I Wish they didn't give tech thralls that zombie gait,I think the drone like lockstep fits them far more,as they not lobotomised, they're just overriden
>>95901064What the fuck is it with nusculpts and having the knees pointing inward?
Did they hire someone that made anime figurine before or what?
They started this shit with 40k aggressors and they still haven't gotten over it
>>95901122>Haven't seen those models in real life yetThis is more what I'm getting at, that most people complaining about marines not being tiny are usually no-games who have no clue what they're talking about and are the /tg/ equivalent of /mu/ math rock hipsters who don't actually listen to music
>>95901084I don't think the kratos is a hybrid
>>95901128Because they're zombies
>>95901126Rite of pure thought is just built in now
>>95901024>There's not really much more left of skitariiTheir codex says it varies from individual to individual. Which is dumb, to be honest. Logistics would be horrendous if one Skitarius couldn't be used as spare parts for the next one.
It would make more sense if it varied on a forgeworld basis - one forgeworld adding brain circuitry for direct control, but going with simple peritoneal-diffussion tank lungs because they aren't politically influent enough to pry the secrets of 2-way cyber-alveoli from the next forgeworld over.
Wounded, specially willfull skitarii get converted into Thallax. The other, more successful ones eventually pass the Crux Mechanicum (more machine than man) and attain stalkerhood, like Ruststalkers and Infiltrators.
Though if they aren't particularly bright, they become Pteraxii instead
>>95901143They are not zombies, they're still people, all Mechanicum did was put rudimentary implants on them to remote control them
>>95901156>They are not zombies, they're still people, all Haitians did was put rudimentary plants on them to control them
>>95901154Can Skitarii become techpriests?
>>95901187why, they are tools
>>95901154>Their codex says it varies from individual to individual.I think it's also across groups. One magos might prefer full limb replacement, another might do the minimum to preserve function. And within those, if needs must, you can vary. Assumedly, the Skitarii parts are somewhat reusable - dude with only his feet replaced probably has feet that fit the full leg replacement dudes - or they have enough techpriests to just graft things as needed.
>>95901136I don't understand your post at all. My issue with thallax models being too large has nothing to do with the size of old marines. I just don't like how scale creep is removing the miniature from miniature wargaming.
>>95900347Those look pretty neat
>>95901239Yeah, they probablt get all the fresh initiates to do menial work like lobotomizing servitors, attaching cyborg limbs to skitarii, etc
>>95901250I don't like scale creep either, but I don't think thallax have ever suffered from this?
The plastic models are the same size as the fw ones, which were released with the fw marines.
They were ALWAYS meant to be bigger than marines, fw even talked about it as a specific design choice.
>>95901250Anon it's supposed to be a giant robot soldier. It has T5 and multiple wounds
You don't complain because a sherman is bigger than a jeep in historical miniature games, do you?
>>95901327>>95901350Why are you all so offended I just don't like thallax, fucking hell.
Tac Blobs with a Centurion and an Apothecary will be hell. There is nothing that can actually hurt them for their points. The Cent can tank all the ap3 and above and the tacs can eat the ap2 and maybe FnP it. Prepare yourselves.
>Can Choom save us?
>>95901370Character wound allocation rule is gone, so once the centurion starts tanking AP 3 hits he will also have to eat the AP 2 hits that come after.
>>95901366If you don't like Thallax just say so. Why bring scale creep into it when they've never been a different size?
>>95901187Depends on the forgeworld. Who gets to become a techpriest at all? Whoever their senior techpriests wish, that's who.

What would your guys do?
>>95901366Because you're making things up that simply aren't true.
If you just don't like the look of them, just say that you fuckwit.
>>95901370>There is nothing that can actually hurt them for their pointsTakes a lot of confidence to say this without knowing what an apothecary does or even the points of tacticals
>>95901380>Thallax can't size creep you if you don't consent
>>95901377Don't they just need to survive the current AP3 strike group, then you can allocate new incoming AP2 wounds whenever you want? Also
>the AP2 hits that come afterNot from plasma in 3.0 oof
>>95901154>Which is dumb, to be honest. Logistics would be horrendous if one Skitarius couldn't be used as spare parts for the next one.Mechanicus is based on feudal hierarchy, logistics aren't the problem because cohort is magos personal army, so he is responsible for maintaining them, also he can just make wrong spare part fit because he have plasma cutter and arc welder.
Mechanicus is super divided single forge world can have multiple smaller forges each ran by diferent tech-priest as his own fiefdom. We have even more extreme version of it in 30k with Taghmata. Logistics aren't that big problem when you can produce components on your ship.
>>95901187Many hope, rarely some can.
>>95901228Tech-priests are also tools. Skitarii are tools of their princeps, princeps is tool of tech-priest, tech priest is tool of even higher up tech-priest. In Mechanicum everyone is expendable puppet to guy above them.
>>95901421>Breaching 6 plasmaOOF
>>95901421Nobody has been using plasma since 2.0 anyway
>>95901435Reminder GW has cynically nerfed plasma into the ground to justify the new niche(s) of the newly spammable disintegrator weapons which conveniently are new weapons that people will have to buy.
>>95901427>cohort is magos personal armyA Taghmata is a Magos' personal army, and they can do with it whatever they want.
A Skitarii maniple is the Forgeworld's nominal army, and they can do with it only whatever the feudal council agrees to, and only if he/they are influent enough / far-away enough that Mars won't protest breach of dogma.
Otherwise it's Malagra time
>>95901435I don't think anyone is ever going to use the top profile unless they are fighting SA or militia
It might as well not exist
Maybe with a moritat
>>95901463Makes you wonder why they decided to make a plasma blaster for the saturnine praetor when it's completely fucking useless anyway.

>>95901463>small Disintegrator too weak, can't kill anything >big Disintegrator too strong, will kill yourself and only on big expensive platform If the Disintegrator Blaster isn't AP2 Overload 1 Disintegrators are dead on arrival.
>>95901463Disintegrators might be even worse than plasma
We don't know why veterans can take them tho. They might be able to take any special weapon. If you are getting veteran assault squads might as well get veteran TSS
>>95901481You could totally keep normal plasma AP4 Breaching 4+, and have Maximal be full AP2. Both profiles get hot, but marines can save one better than the other.
It's not a "safe" profile. Merely safe-r
>>95901435We can only pray the Plasma trait actually does something. Bolt pistol has the Assault trait which means it can be used for volley fire. But I seriously doubt that.

They really fucking love putting tags on everything like a bunch of autists but then they never use them for anything...
>>95901516That's not a quality of the trait that's a quality of volley fire. What global rule would would interact with the plasma trait?
>>95901496If the dread's disintegration cannon is a better lascannon with overload it's a possible contender as well
>>95901527Only Phased Plasma should be safe, and it gave up S7 AP2 for S6 AP3. That was the whole point of it.
Now it's the deadliest plasma there is.
GW is a big, fat mess
>>95901470>A Skitarii maniple is the Forgeworld's nominal armyAnd forge world is local fabricator's personal fiefdon, that is split into lesser forgefanes that are personal fiefdoms of lesser tech priests who in turn give smaller parts of their territory to lesser priests.
Mechanicum never was unified in belief outside "Praise Machine God", they can't agree who is Omnissiah, what is tech heresy and what dogma is. Chart also shows Basilikon Astra to be it's own thing, but guess how some asshole's magos personal Taghmata get's around...
Cult Mechanicus is pure mess, no wonder they damper or straight up remove their emotional lobes.
>>95900957It's a shame the horror of thallax isn't really conveyed by their models.
>>95901581It is.
They have no mouth, but they must scream.
>>95901572>Now it's the deadliest plasma there is.Bold of you to assume it's not going to be nerfed into the ground as well
>>95899233>everything, even the apparently inanimate, is ensouled and consciousSee this is where it falls down, because that wasn't the case originally. That was what the Mechanicus *believed* to be true, but it wasn't actually, in fact, true. The fact they believed it was true was one of the ways that the faction's core themes - replacing true learning with rote recitation ultimately dooms you; that we have to be careful in extremis not to fall into mindless dogmatism; that a populace that doesn't understand how its own world functions is easier to subvert and ultimately control, etc etc - were reinforced. The Guardsman is not literally *making his gun work by praying to it*, he's performing basic maintenance in a world where the only way he's allowed to learn that information is in the form of a prayer. It's purposefully farcical, to drive home how insane the Imperium is and provide a bit of levity.
Now motherfuckers are walking around with "ensoulled" fucking pencils or whatever because nuGW writers are hackfraud faggot fucks who skipped out on English to fit in more Student Union meetings and Gender Studies lectures.
What if they nerfed plasma becasue TSS are actually going to be a reasonable price this time around and it would be too good otherwise?
Rapid fire is not a thing anymore either so it's likely plasma guns are just flat 2 Shots at 24" now
And cannons are a waaaay more accurate
>>95901485>>95901496>>95901507Plasma with breaching 4+ was reasonably good against meq and teq.
ap3 disintegrators are good against meq, ap2 heavy disintigrators are good against meq.
But if Plasma stayed as breaching 4+, it'd overlap heavily with both types of disintegrators.
So they nerf plasma, to force new model sales for the inevitable disintegrator weapon upgrade box if you want a weapon that can actually breach armour, even though yes, neither is really that great.
>>95901648This makes no sense because the individual weapon options have their own prices. You can have 'reasonably prices tss' while still having strong (and expensive) weapon options.
>>95899822Who's the pilot on the Porphy, Tom Cruise? Lifts-wearing motherfucker lol. YWNBAT.
>>95901660You can't in 2.0. Even if the guns were free the base price was so retarded no one ever took them
Speaking of scale creep - putting aside the continual increase of actual model size and xl dread +1 shit... why the fuck do they keep making WEAPONS fucking bigger and bigger?
Many of the new melee weapons are just getting comically fucking large, like the praetor weapons in the 2.0 box set, or power weapons in the melee upgrade set (especially axes and maces), and the preview showing the new chain axes shows that they have also become absurdly fucking huge.
Why does every weapon have to be a fucking penis compensator? Can we not have weapons that aren't anime massive? Some of these one handed weapons are larger than older 2 handed weapons, its fucking silly.
>>95901704for me, I'm all about huge weapons. Yeah, it can be WoW absurd but it's still really cool.
>>95901679Anon, read what I said.
You can lower the base price of the squad/per model price, and still have strong weapon options that are appropriately expensive.
Yes this is not the case in 2.0, anon I was replying to was speculating that plasma is dogshit now because tss will be lower price, even though plasma is not their only option.
>>95901649>it'd overlap heavily with both types of disintegrators. There is NO overlap. Cool it with the conspiracy theories.
It got nerfed because it's probably more hits overall and because the way Overcharge works you don't really want it to be Ap2 half the time.
Plasma at Breaching 5+ is better than disintegrators against MEQ.
10 Disintegrator shots kill 3 MEQs
20 Plasma shots kill 4
If it was still Breaching 4+ it'd kill 7
Disintegrators are a weird ass nich gun that seems only good to kill 3+Sv with 2W. It's basically made to kill veterans. Plasma is still better against anything else unless that S4 was a typo
>>95901649But no one will buy disintegrators either unless you can take 5 disintegrators for the price of one melta. Which then comes down nerfing melta not nerfing plasma. Plasma was never even a competitor.
>>95901704They'be never been great at weapons scales but there's some twat at GW with a serious hard on for oversized axes. The IF character with 2 of them is the same. The size is ridiculous
Does the radome work? I want it to look like the turret is unmanned
>>95901758Looks nice. Not particularly unmanned tho
>>95901719How are you even using this axe one handed?
It's almost as tall as the guy holding it. It's not a question of a space marine's physical strength, simply having a weapon that large and long would make it unwieldy as fuck, which is what makes it comical and cartoonish.
>>95901726They are addding new veteran units, 2d ap3 weapons is very much a relevant niche.
Did I miss something with overcharge? Last I saw it uses the base ap, which would never be ap2, but I've already forgotten half the leaks so I could be wrong.
>>95901765Overload is now resolved as hits against your squad, which means it now rolls to wound, which means it can potential breach. We don't know whether or not it strips special rules off the hits because we don't have the text of the overload rule.
>>95901765Listen, I'm not saying saying it isn't, I just still find it cool (except a few exceptions like
>>95901736what anon said with Fafnir who looks terrible with both the oversized axes + the shield and sword on his back)
>>95901765>very much a relevant nicheAnd that's probably another reason why plasma got nerfed. If it wasn't it'd be equally better than disintegrators at killing MEQs, veterans and TEQs and considerably better against light vehicles
>Last I saw it uses the base apThe article said Hit rolls of 1 target your own unit
I assume that means you get hit once and have to roll for wounds normally
Overload is not in the core rule for whatever fucking reason...
>>95901792If bro wants to wield a giant giga axe its all good, just model it being actually 2 handed if its gonna be 2 handed sized.
>>95901802GW putting only some of the BASIC FUCKING SPECIAL RULES in the main rule book, and others in the liber books is genuinely so fucking retarded. There is a 0% chance plasma is marine specific, so why god do they do this?
Like I genuinely don't understand, its not like it will help their sales in some convoluted way, and all it does is make it harder to actually read all the rules.
>>95901764I mean the hatch is gone and also because of the rocket launcher there is only one hatch available, the turret would have to be unmanned thanks to the size of this unit on the turret. I want to go with that this was a slightly refit/revision of the Kratos that was being tested by my SOH guys.
>>95901704Every weapon GW makes is oversized and melee weapons are not the worst offenders. That axe still looks like it could be wielded by a man, even if two handed. The guns on the other hand are all comically oversized, especially tank guns.
>>95901382>Using a single equals to evaluate valuesngmi
>>95901485I'm sorta fine with mid-strength high-AP weapons. It's a niche that's gone unfilled for a while.
Should disintegrators be that? I dunno. But something should.
>>95901820gun sizes have stayed (reasonably) consistant, while melee weapons have had very significant scale creep. I have models with the old FW mk2/mk3 power weapon upgrades as well as models with the new plastic ones, and the plastic ones are quite literally twice as large.
>>95901837It'd be fine for disintegrators to fill that niche if they stuck to it instead of having the next gun in size be S7 for some fucking reason. That's no longer an anti Veteran weapon
>>95901802Unless Plasma literally only ever does one shot it's still way better at killing MEQs and light vehicles (as if light vehicles exist lol) and only very slightly worse at killing veterans.
>>95897941 (OP)Both of those guns looks like they are going to suck your dick
>>95901758I'd just shave the cupola down and put like an access hatch there not mean for a TC, but maintenance of the internals. Extra optics and sensors on the turret to compensate for the TC's lack of a cupola to have 360 view. Maybe put the TC on the little hatch next to the driver as his work position?
>>95901853Yeah. Mid-strength high-AP weapons should not scale up to threaten tanks, they should scale up to threaten larger hordes of infantry.
I think Volkite manages to hold it's niche while scaling well (or did, at least)
>>95901858>only very slightly worse at killing veteransPlasma is as bad at kiling veterans as disintegrators are at killing MEQs in comparison. I think they are well balanced
You are probably going to lose more points by kill yourself than you are going to gain by destroying a rhino with either of them desu
If terminators can take heavy weapons (Which we know they can), and heavy-weapon terminators are a desirable thing, why did nobody except the bloody space wolves consider letting cataphractii/tartaros taking more than 1-per-5 heavy weapons?
>>95901888Its kinda wack that marines have this amazing heavy weapons platform in terminators, and gives them EXTREMELY limited access to heavy weapons. Not even just the 1 in 5, but why only plasma blaster/AC/heavy flamer?
Justaerin with multimeltas is such an obvious choice for terminators to use, or plasma cannons/literally every possible kind of heavy weapon.
We have exactly one model in terminator armour using a heavy bolter (that SW dude), but why no one else?
>>95901888i would say because there was an impetus to maintain terminators, or at least most members of a squad as a sort of universal line trooper much like power armoured marines are with at least one limb able to interact with things in a semi-normal human fashion as necessary as opposed to making them walking gun platforms like saturnines very resemble
>>95901888Why would they when they apparently had saturnine filling that roll all along?
>>95901910>Not even just the 1 in 5This is a rules limitation
>plasma blaster/AC/heavy flamer?This is a model limitation.
But neither are justified as limiting what we can do. It wouldn't be hard to do a sprue of heavy weapons arms for Cataphractii/Tartaros, but I assume selling a whole new nostalgia-wrapped terminator is the goal, not giving existing models desirable options.
>>95901920Sure, but autocannon on one arm, free/melee weapon hand on the other fulfils that role, no?
>>95901888I mean SW are kinda retarded for that desu. Theres no reason to get up close and persobal with long range heavy weapons.
What I want to know is why the heavy weapon options arent a miltimelta and heavy flamer. What the fuck do you need an autocannon for?
>>959018751 Plasma Gun shot at BS4, S7, AP4, Breaching 5+ inflicts ~0.296 (going out to 3 digits so no one accuses me of reductive rounding this time) wounds against T4 3+ save
1 Disintegrator shot at BS4, S4, AP3 inflicts ~0.333 wounds against T4 3+ save
Against a MEQ, they're nearly identical
Against a VEQ, will kill half as many
Against a light vehicle (AV 11-12) the disintegrator can't hurt it but the plasma gun can
If the plasma gun has 2 shots, even with heavy (FP), it will mog the disintegrator because it deals effectively same damage against veterans while killing twice as many tacticals and being able to glance a Rhino effectively.
>>95901888Iron Warriors tyrant terminators all have heavy weapons.
Like 40k terminators can take 1 cyclone/assault cannon/flamer per 5, here tyrants have 5 launchers per 5 terminators and each also have power fist and combi with rule they can fire both rockets and boltgun in single shooting phase.
But to answer your question, most retarded things can be summarised as to balance the game. Why only 1 in 5 can take special weapon? Why tacticals are only boltguns and no heavy weapon? Why destroyers have 2 pistols and can take only 1 rad rocket per 5? Why drop pods require rite of war?
Well balance.
>>95901928Yes anon, I am aware rules exist.
Lorewise though most heavy weapons are simply never used by terminators for no explainable reason.
Stuff like MM on justies is not even a great option due to how expensive it is, so its not like making it an option is an issue of making it OP, and a weapon upgrade sprue of more termie weapon options would just be another kit to sell, so dunno why they don't do it.
>>95901910What's actually insane is assault terminators. Here's this heavy armor, you can't move very fast in it, you especially can't chase after anyone and you're really bulky and obviously have somewhat more constricted movements.
So they give them swords and shit so that people can walk away from them at a somewhat brisk pace.
>>95901871Problem is that if you give them more shots you are also killing yourself faster...
But idk. S5 would have been perfectly fine for the heavy version. And 2 shots for the one above that
By the current logic the dread's disintegrator is going to be S10
>>95901936factor of unwieldiness and doctrine perhaps then
bearing in mind maybe that the likes of tactical squads are afforded no opportunity for the taking of special weapons beyond maybe the sergeant's implements
it was intended for the lowest line tactical marine of the late, late great crusade to be suited up in terminator plate with probably a twin linked bolter and lightning claw or power weapon
>t. all the things i've read trust me bro
>>95900846Why bother when there's the Wilph boxnoughts if you can be bothered hunting for them on weekends and ForgesOfZeon is right now working on his version which judging by his other 'noughts will piss on the competition.
>95901972
sorry, tartaros plate* in particular, hurr durr
>>95901958If you're assaulting some position/objective and all the defenders run away, thats kinda a win anon.
Also that's what all the transport options are for.
>>95901972Sure, but we did have heavy support squads.
I'm not saying every terminator squad should get all heavy weapons. I'm asking why there wasn't a heavy weapon terminator squad available (ignoring the legion-specific examples) when it seems to be a very easy thing to do. Hell, it's even easier, since HSSs need both hands to carry their weapons, which terminators wouldn't.
>>95901958Assault terminators use either storm shield(3++) and thunder hammers that hit like truck, or power claws that have high ap, +1 attack and shred. They can withstand enemy fire in close quarters and massacre them.
Besides that assault terminators are 40k unit and in 40k terminators have default deep strike.
But if you want to make this argument then melee weapons outside combat knife/bayonet and melee dedicated units like assault marines make no sense, because shooting from afar is better and safer and heavy support squad with jump pack would be more effective.

Disintegration Cannon: 36" FP2 S9 AP2 D3 Overload 2
>>95902000The point was to showcase how many wounds per shot as I mentioned but you're actually slightly right, I was including the breaching shot but my math was off, I was doing the math as if 33% of the hits would be non breaching hits not 50% of them
With that in mind the correct number of wounds per shot per plasma is...~0.333
2 SHOT PLASMA AND DISINTEGRATORS ARE LITERALLY IDENTICAL AT KILLING VEQs
I don't know why you're all fussing about the basic Disintegrator when the real problem will be heavy disintegrators vs plasma cannons, if plasma cannons stay as just plasma with 36" range, 3" blast, 1 shot they're even fucking worse than before and get mogged by a S7 AP2 D2 1 shot heavy Disintegrator
I dont think new plasma is necessarily "bad" as in "weak", its probably still a perfectly viable weapon choice and will do damage. I do however think new plasma is "bad" as in "boring" if it loses its AP capabilities.
Plasma is supposed to be a high risk, high reward, elite killer. Something designed for killing elite infantry or even light vehicles through its high Ap at solid ranges, but which carries the risk of self killing in return for this power.
This plasma feels more like autocannons or assault cannons, weapons that rely on weight of fire more than anything. The solid S and number of shots being more important than its AP. This feels wrong to me, it loses the identity of "plasma" for no good reason. Plasma shouldnt be about rolling buckets of dice, it should be about knowing that the dice rolls are high impact both ways.
>>95901991Oh I don't disagree, but you've got better options. Namely, the much faster assault marines.Must be very frustrating to be a WE terminator.
>>95901994>assault marines make no senseQuite the opposite. Assault marines are fast and have jump packs. They can close the distance quickly without transports. They can easily circumvent obstacles, go over them, jump up and down buildings.... Swords, pistols, explosives, and just turn em loose on some urban environment. You get a lot more utility from that then some dude who can slowly walk over or requires dedicated transport to do anything.
I guess they work in really confined spaces, corridors of ships and such. That's probably where they're in their best element.
>>95902059Plasma are literally just autocannon lite now, except it can still kill you.
>>95902067>except it can still kill you.If you overclock them, yes. And yes, theyre just 24" autocannons now, which makes me wonder what the fuck theyre going to do with autocannons.
Luv me autocannon carnodons, simple as
>>95901958Actually the real issue there is GW ennabling retard players who want to use(and so, must buy) their toys all the time even when it makes no sense. Assault Terminators are for boarding actions, strongpoint assaults, even trench warfare - anywhere they can be brought to bear quickly against an enemy that doesn't have all that much room to maneuver and routing them is only a slightly worse outcome than killing them outright.
Players, being WAACoid subnormal shits with the temperement of toddlers, deploy them on Planet Bowlingball because they never play anything other than -default point value- games on a table with less obstructions on it than a typical fucking dinnerplate.
>>95902130People that play with low amounts of terrain are really sad, Its so fucking dull and takes away so much strategy from the game. I would stuff my entire board with terrain if it didn't make it hard to physically move stuff around at that level of density.
Also the nerfs to cover in 2.0 was also kinda wew.
>>95901527you say that, but original plasma came in two forms: the direct weapons that needed recharge time (a number of turns based on the weapon's size) and missiles/grenades that left a plasma ball template in place
they never exploded until... I want to say 3E? 1998?
>>95902156Yes it was 3rd, which was also when they stripped out sustained and maximal fire.
I wonder if plasma cannons will be S10 maximal?
>>95901574What i mean is a planet may have multiple taghmatas, but only one Skitarii. Thus there is Taghmata Satarael, from among the multiple Magi of his planet, but there's only Skitarii Incaladion, the forgeworld that basically exiled the fleshless lord
I have kinda forgotten what we are actually talking about, but even if the Skitarii are beholden to a single Fabricator General of the Forgeworld (instead of a council), there's still only a single Skitarii on that world.
Just what are we talking about anyways?
>>95901704>why the fuck do they keep making WEAPONS fucking bigger and bigger?Sorry, that was me. I asked them to.
>>95901765>It's not a question of a space marine's physical strength, simply having a weapon that large and long would make it unwieldy as fuck, which is what makes it comical and cartoonish. It makes them stand out, but indeed marine weapons would look ridiculously big because they are ridiculously strong for their frame.
For something barely any bigger than a tall mortal, they are several times stronger, and would be able to wield a normal zweihander on a single hand like it was a mere smallsword.
Conversely, their own purposely-made weapons are so big and dense they might be difficult for a person to even lift :O!
>>95902073Probably S7 Ap4 D2
It doesn't ignore armour but it still works on 2W marines and is fine against light vehicles
Not awful against saturnine and terminators either if they get 3shots or are cheap
>>95902245Its not about simple strength though. They are clearly strong enough to carry it like its nothing, but if you are trying to swing a giant 2 handed weapon around with 1 hand, you simply have very poor leverage, and the space marine dude you're fighting with a normal sized one handed weapon is going to have a huge advantage and completely fuck you up.
>>95902050Blast weapon are really fucking accurate now. Even when they miss you still have a significant chance to hit
They should hit on avarage more than 2
>>95902270Str 7 AP 4 Damage 1 Heavy (Damage) :^)
>>95902294Probably.
Heavy so far seems nerf you if you move compared to before, rather than give you a benefit for being stationary
>>95898403Minor nitpick but why is the new layout so ass? Is it just the preview? Why did rhey move the unit composition section up there and why are the options two colums that offset everything?
>>95902333Cuz adding 4 extra stats Probably made the line too wide and everything else needs to accomodate that. Maybe these arent actually entries from the libers. If they are, it's a massive asthetic downgrade
>>95902321Strictly speaking lascannons only did one wound until now, so technically it is a buff.
>>95902355That makes no sense the statbar is still its own row in both the new and old profiles.
>>95901758Now this would be unmanned
>>95902392They ID termies and the pottential damage from explodes was probably higher in most vehicles that it is now.
HB lost a shot unless they remain stationary too
>>95901704Word Bearer bros how do we go about converting these into Ashen Circle?
>>95902498Step 1: Go buy 10 Ashen Circle from a remaster for half the price
>>95902511The FW ones look kinda bad tho
>>95902535What you mean, like in a "She kinda bad tho" kinda way?
>>95902438>Now this would be completely and mentally stable.FTFY
I want some mk4s, mk5s and to kitabash a 20 man squad of a cobbled together armour from part of different marks.
I don't have access to a printer or somebody with one.
What would be the best way to approach this and what recasters, if any, would offer the best range of marks and parts? I have zero experience with recasters.
>>95902577The best recasters are cheaper and higher quality, but also invite only. Public ones like zack and wartable aren't necessarily dogshit, although their quality control isn't as good.
Its funny though, in my country, since GW prices are extra fucking retarded, every single HH player I know, around the entire country all use recasters
>>95898365What shade of paint is that? I've been glazing my night lords to get a similar shade, but if I can just start with that it'd save time
>>95902007Does overload (2) mean you take hits on the roll of a 1 and 2 or that you take two hits for each roll of a one?
>>95900939That's not true, the basic fluff for servo skulls, cogitators and 40k robots straight up mentions that there aren't any organic components that do part of the "thinking". At most one could argue that heresy era robots having syntetic bio-plastic brains would almost fall into that category were it not for the fact that being synthetized they are the completely opposite of being organic.
