I don't think a single one has managed really any successful pushback on gaming license issues, price rises, IP theft, or constant revisiins or - like so many hobbies - the components low quality high price end up being barriers to entry themselves. Big brained consumers will tell thenselves this is part of the experience when the editing and plastic could be better and there are more entry points you can combine.

Instead we get this limited hangout

Depending on how big they've gotten, their primary hobby becomes video production and video production becomes their full-time job. Actually playing games, engaging with a community, and so on, become so low on their list because even just trying to record a video of themselves painting a single mini slows the process down so much that an activity they could finish in an afternoon becomes and all-weekend project as they get their b-roll and their detail shots and they have to stop every few minutes to check that their cameras are set and angled correctly. And then the rest of the week is spent editing the video and maintaining an online presence, and so on and so on...
