What even were they and what was their point?
Is the concept of religiously fanatical death cult elfs just too aesthetically similar to the Drukhari so there was no point in them.

Discarded push to pull a aos grand alliance and put all elves, aehm i mean aeldari in one faction. Since that plan got canned they are the remining abortion fetus

I am not expecting much since their only purpose seems to be a mobile deus ex machina right now, but hopefully they develop into a unique faction. They need a real base of power, a fleshed out culture, and unique aesthetic separate from the craftworld and dark eldar.

Eldar faction made with multiple purposes in mind.
>Eldar soup faction
>squat Slaanesh
>serve as desu ex machina with ressurection magic in some instances like with Guilliman
Then creative vision and board in GW changed, so now they don't want to squat Slaanesh and Guilliman is alive and no one cares how he got ressurected anylonger, so Ynnari serve almost no purpose other than eldar soup, but soups became unpopular during 8th. So right now Ynnari are on life support as 3 characters that allow you to take dark eldar units in craftworlders codex. Their purpose of squating Slaanesh was completly destroyed when they lost last mcguffin sword to palace of Slaanesh and their strongest warriors were almost defeated by projection of keeper of secrets, then it was made even more over by Phoenix Lords, Eldrad and Lelith leaving + ynnari trilogy getting canceled after 2nd book.
Also Corsairs units look like it was repurposed troops that was meant to be Ynnari unique unit, but with Ynnari unpopular they got turned into kill team.
Currently they serve no point.
