The CYOA states that a sinner forgoes affiliations and organizations, but does that mean you lose all your statuses to other organizations once you're in limbus? What's your builds role or niche? That helps a lot. A sniper would benefit from mechanical eyes to zoom in or a brain chip to enhance their aim. A delivery Fixer like those in Devyat might have leg enhancements to increase their speed or some other augment for variable movement (like wings or running up walls).

General physical enhancements are always useful.

If you're really stumped, just check out some of the augments in Cyberpunk and shamelessly steal them. A Sandevistan would be a decent Tier IV (maybe V if you're like David Martinez or smth)

We don't know. The game starts with the reviver and the bus crew complete. In other words, we can make up whatever we want.

It's a pretty tight schedule. You basically live on the bus and are constantly heading to the next mission. The closest thing to free time is when everyone goes to their own rooms to sleep, or just when everyone is riding the bus together and waiting for the next traumatic shitstorm. The group doesn't really split up for missions either since there's only one reviver and being reviveable is the biggest reason why they can compete with other forces.

Your status is that you work for some weird minor company no one knows about. You have about as much clout as any random shitter in the backstreets. People owe you and your backing as much respect as a random homeless man on the street, and they will not give a single fuck about your change in employment. If they have a grudge they can and probably will act on it, including dragging the whole bus into your mess.

All being a sinner means is that you gave up any authority or power you had before hand. No one else is beholden to that agreement but you.

Any way we want honestly. In game, the Sinners had already been gathered and just showed up to help him when he was in danger.

The basic gist of Limbus Company is the Sinners going around the city looking for Golden Boughs (magic macguffins that may be connected to the previous L-Corp and Library), which for some reason resonate with them due to some past trauma. So plenty of ways to interact with the rest of the City. Going alone is not recommended though.

What is says on the tin, they're an employee titled 'Sinner' under Limbus Company.

Yes. Under Limbus Company, you are just a Sinner and are obligated by a contract to follow through with what you are told by the higher-ups. Past affiliations still affect you though, but those are usually already accounted for (since those affiliations are probably involved with Golden Bough).

The index is weird. Strictly speaking you don't even need to follow the prescripts even when you work for them. You can probably just pick up your shit and leave. The other index guys won't care unless the prescripts tell them to go mess with you, and that could happen even if you were some rando. So basically don't worry about it and go make your index guy. It's a non-issue.

The exact mechanics are still unknown, but lore-wise what actually happens is everyone gets lowered to the same level as the weakest member. CYOA probably made it this way for balance reasons.

Yes to all of the above. Mostly. They can get information they wouldn't normally have thanks to their IDs, but that's rare in game. The alternate worlds as a whole though are a big background plot point though.

In canon pretty much. Could have the Sinners stop by in an area that is near the other builds for other reasons, like refueling the bus, gathering supplies or equipment, etc. But Sinners don't really get time off or anything, and only rarely are separated from the group.

The little references to the other characters and how they see the duo is also cool to see. I assume the Riolu at the end was Lushian, since normal ones don't learn Sucker Punch, in that case I wanted to point out that he doesn't know that move. I was planning to explain it later but what he did in the intro was supposed to be an incomplete Shadow Punch, the teleporting right to the enemy was my interpretation of why the move never misses, but it did miss because Lushian can't use it properly yet. It still makes sense that the move would be mistaken for that by Apollo so I think that's pretty cool, and you made me think about the fact Sucker Punch would actually be a pretty good fit for Lushian's style since it's a move that hinges on reading your opponent and he's supposed to be good at that.
Overall cool to see. This got way longer than I planned to.

That makes sense. In Lance's case he's technically still a second kindred; he's just strong enough to match the level of an elder, which is why he believed he could challenge the "Father." I imagined that guy as ridiculously overpowered, so the fight wasn't particularly close. My thought was that Lance was the first to be turned by the Father, making him the "Big Brother" of the family- simultaneously groomed for leadership and someone the Father took special effort to keep under his thumb.

My initial idea for the Father was as man who'd be too obsessed with control to let his "children" form their own families, but I don't really know much about the setting and was just looking to come up with something until these details were settled by all the builds. Maybe Desdemona's love towards her "siblings" and her the enthusiasm towards maintaining their messed up family allowed him to make an exception for her, since he wasn't worried she'd betray him and viewed her new "children" as further expansion of his own influence.

NTA but I don't think they're calling it out as the strongest thing, but elaborating on it being beyond the other options. The scope of what a special power can do or at the very least the example its based on hasn't been seen to have any direct comparisons to itself. A Warp Train's dimensional travel has way more drawbacks and isn't as easy or quick to use as her power. She's strong for sure because of it, and she's one of the strongest characters in the setting, but she's not able to throw hands with an Arbiter. It gives her more opportunities to go to places other's couldn't possibly try and go to themselves, which someone with an EGO couldn't try and recreate. The closest thing is maybe Yuria's Workshop, but she can only summon the entrance to the building and can't exactly use it to travel anywhere else.

That works well with my own ideas. I purposely left the specific details of her downfall vague, but one way or a another it ended in her being falsely accused and punished. Desdemona being the exception Father's controlling nature, the person who betrayed could have played into that to make him and the rest of family suspicious of her. Possibly a jealous "sibling" trying curry favor.

In the family dynamic, Dez easily fits into an "eldest sister" slot with her having some preferential treatment of being younger but still being able to saddled with responsibility. She would genuinely look up to Lance, though the exact nature of their current relationship could be interesting. I imagine the incidents that caused them to become Sinners occurring at different times and her having wandered around in Distortion mode for a while, but her believed rebellion could have still had something to do with Lance's true rebellion. I have a loose idea for Desdemona's downfall starting somewhat ahead/alongside Lance's action but him being sold to L-Corp before Minos and co eventually found her.

For Lennox it would be Studios, not because he's his cousin, but because he is the only teacher he actually respects as both a teacher and an individual. The others are either too strange (ironic I know) or too stuck up, or they teach something he doesn't care about/ doesn't need lessons in. Herbology is a subject he is not a genius in but also something he needs, and Studios is a competent teacher. Close second is Marvin, Lennox is not quite sure what his subject is about but it's definitely more interesting than 90% of the curriculum.

Your special power isn't going to be a cheatcode for every situation and its not going to be superior in every aspect. Sucker Punch fails if the opponent isn't using a direct attack, so Teleport wouldn't trigger it. That's why I said that it's oddly fitting for Lushian, since he has the psychology knowledge and is good at reading people with aura/soul shenanigans he would be able to use it more reliably than others. Diana would evaporate regardless, I imagine it must be quite scary being around him for her, and he isn't even evloved yet.

Blaziken and the mega version have real good air control and can jump higher than several stories buildings, they have also been shown gliding to a degree and they can learn Brave Bird. So he can't fly but as a certain space hero would say he can "fall with style". Also he may be able to rocket boost flame bender style according to Pokken, but that's an edge case, It's very anime tho and we are kinda going for that vibe last time I checked.

A walking enigma, powerfully built yet readily has given his strength for an unknown cause, a keen mind but naive to life in the Districts, and a strong sense of justice and morals that hasn't stopped him from brutally yet efficiently dispatching threats that stand between them and their next stop. Its just a fun thing to do. All the Sinners in the game are based on literature. Their background, motivations, and story arc reflects what story they came from. Dante, the main manager, is based on Dante's Inferno, and the journey he takes with the Sinners is supposed to represent the journey the book Dante takes through hell, Ishmael is from Moby Dick and has Captain Ahab as her antagonist as Ahab has doomed her entire crew due to her obsession chasing the White Whale, Heathcliff basically sacrifices everything over Catherine, etc. It's just a common theme between them.

Statistically speaking, a certain amount of the sinners are bound to be dumps or frauds. Best to keep things open and keep accepting more sinners. Maybe even get away from canon a bit, add a central LC headquarters and make it so that builds head out in custom groups while the rest stay behind and can have some SoL with non-sinners.

It's also exactly because of the golden boughs that I think it's better if we get some distance from canon and loosen up. Otherwise we'd lock ourselves into a format where everyone is forced to wait for the current sinner's arc to end before the next can start. If someone frauds or is just a slow cook, the whole sinner plotline could stall and kill off the mp. If someone dumps, then that means we'll never get their part of the story, and by extension our quest for the golden boughs will end there.

Being open to additional sinners and a more flexible way to build up the team means we can avoid those issues more easily. It'd probably be less stressful for the anons writing their sinners too, since they won't have everyone else trapped in purgatory and waiting for them to finish.

The other side of it is that having a cap on sinners encourages people to be quick and low effort to avoid missing out, but if we leave it open we make it so that people don't need to be afraid to take their time and cook up the best sinner they can, which I think is also to our benefit.

I probably cooked ass, but the Sinner Prologue is basically done. Really glad I got 5.something k words in a day - haven't managed that since Fate. Regarding your last paragraph, perhaps Lance had already been starting to crack under the weight of maintaining his forced role in their imitation family for so long, and for his gruesome participation in the expansion of their family's power. And then the betrayal of the one who most bought into this horrific performance, by those family members Desdemona most trusted, is what finally prompted Lancelot's rebellion. Perhaps he believed she was forever lost as a distortion or dead, and he's unsettled by her appearance at L-Corp and colder than she expected. Or maybe he was always that way. I imagined him attempting to keep any old "siblings" at arm's length, viewing them as victims who can't be helped until the monster is cut at its head. Just some ideas based on what you said.

I also did assume she'd call him Big Brother or Lance-y or something similarly affectionate even if he's trying to treat her the same as any other Sinner. His nature makes him not particularly good at that; however, and I assume they're uniquely good at fighting together in combat.

Although it's not exclusively held by the Wings, since as they're tech people do invent new technologies worthy of being a singularity or they eventually become public domain because their respective Wing went under. More Ringo, although he might not be strong enough to completely fill the role. (Canon guide is a straight up color fixer). Expectation for the guide is someone strong enough to bail the group out *after* they get wiped. Meaning stronger than the combined forces of all 12 sinners with Mr.Minos constantly reviving them all by a significant amount. Ringo is tough, but I don't know if he's that tough, you know? Less his fault and more the way the CYOA works out.

Mr. Minos is the Dante stand-in, also referred to as the manager... Let alone being strong enough to bail the group out if they all fall, he can't even be expected to 1v1 the sinners since he burnt 120 points on the dante perk. You'd be asking him to solo an enemy that can simultaneously handle 12 infinitely reviving people who are all stronger than him.

Honestly your time would probably be better spent just watching a video of the story bits from the game or something. It'd likely get the important information across better and in less time compared to trying to sift through the wiki and piece stuff together yourself.

I suppose if there's one thing to stress, it's that the sinners are the core of the story. There's some minor side-quests in between, but the important things are to obtain a mcguffin called a Golden Bough, and every single one is tied to a sinner and their past, with that being the real reason why Limbus Company chose them to be the sinners. So the main story beats end up being more about personal drama and rising beyond it, as opposed to struggling against evil badguy #7.

I don't know what to make of her. She calls herself a color, the build lists her as grade 1, and she's also mid grade. My best guess is she saw the text in "Death, I, Survive" and took it literally, but by that logic several of our Sinners are color tier too.
Even looking past all that, I think if I judge her fairly she'd get hamstringed by the no augments drawback. It's not as bad on Ringo since he's a gunner, but for an upfront physical fighter like Onyx "not defenseless" is really just not good enough. Other color tier threats will have hax of their own, and many of them won't be as direct as hers. She really needs the ability to speedblitz them down, and she can't do that when her speed is probably on par with like Level II-III augments.
