>>95934379It’s an RPG made by a decently-popular webcomic artist, who also released Lancer, and a bunch of other vastly less successful game. The idea of Cain is that you play as a bunch of psychic exorcists who work for the titular organisation to hunt “Sins”, which are monsters born from negative emotions.
If you ask me, it’s a glorified artbook. I recommend turning your brain off and looking through it if the visual style appeals to you at all, but the game itself? Eh. It’s a ptba-style “mark xp at the end of the session if your character talked about his feelings” type game. Enemies are treated like skill challenges almost instead of the usual initiative combat. All weapons are identical, regardless of whether you have an assault rifle or a baseball bat. There is fuck all in the way of skills, itemisation, or anything like that.
There’s an audience for games like this, I guess, but it’s so lightweight that it’s one step removed from playing house imo.
