knowing GW, I've always been waiting for their bean counters to split the books for maximum profit.

They might just do it like Index Astartes where it was 4 books for space marines, volume I was the first four legions (1,3,4,5), then next book had (6,7,8,9), next one (10,12,13,14,15), and the final book had (16,17,18,19,20). Then they could do a 5th book for imperial allies and a 6th book for chaos allies.

GW would especially love it because people who own 3 loyalist or 3 chaos forces might be forced into buying 3 books instead of 1. (Dark Angels + Space Wolves + Ultramarines for example would be book 1+2+3 instead of Liber Imperialis)

Sounds like you just havent learned how GW works. They have two tiers of items, wide-releases and limited-releases. A limited-release (Space wolves army box) a store asks "can I have 10 of these?" GW just sends them 2 or 3 boxes capped.
A wide-release item like Skaventide, if a store asked for 30 copies, they receive 30 copies not 2-3 boxes.
Wide release items, GW has decided not to do any FOMO at all, which means scalpers have no reason to chase any wide release.

I have 10 different websites bookmarked and it takes about 2 seconds after the preorder window to learn what items are wide-release or not. On a fomo release, it sells out in 5 seconds, or often doesn't receive the 15% discount (they sold 230 space wolf box for 230 full price), or they post "we apologize but due to limited distribution we are unable to do pre-orders on this item"
A wide release it just says "Available: 30" in a dozen stores across the entire country and scalpers simply skip.

Saturnine received 30 news articles instead of 1 article and months of hyping, that means there's exactly zero chance GW isn't giving Saturnine box a wide-release where stores can buy 30+ each.

problem for a lot of parts of the world is that in order to from GW you have to order directly from them, and not other suppliers and you can't sell cheaper then 5% lower then GW price, which is moot anyway as the VAT being higher eats the 5% difference anyway.
And if a store tries to sell for less and GW gets a word about it (and it will as stores snitch on each other, to cut other people shipments) they stop sending you stuff, and your table top gaming store just went belly up.

I build characters with jump packs and jet bikes, people keep saying that they may get rid of the option, because there is no non kitbash version of a pretor with a pack or jetbike. Same with terminators with thunder hammers, terminators with desintegrators and maces, assasin clades from the firewing. my jump pack companions and my cataphract companions. From the looks of it aside for 20 tacticals and 10 lascanon HSS I may end up with either units that are terrible or straight up illegal.

Lascannons are reliable against av14 and lower, while melta is only reliable against av13 and under. And lascannons have long range so you are easily going to actually be applying that damage every round, vs the melta squad that is going to be lucky to get 2 volleys off, and needs to get into melta range to start with.

Not saying they're useless or anything, but honestly their role as 'end all of AT' is very much not a think anymore. Sure, they will delete predators if you get into melta range, but lascannons will obliterate them easily as well, and from long range.
While against av14 targets, lascannons will have hit that LR/spartan multiple times vs the melta squad's once before it gets deleted since its right on the enemy line.

honestly, the better question is why are humble missile launchers going to be a genuine contender as anti AV14?

Melta and lascannons are both just going to be hoping to plink down 500 hull points on a spartan, while a single s8 missile can immobilise the spartan. Even if it repairs itself, a single turn of no movement is either going to force them to disembark early, or delay their deathstart from actually doing anything useful.

ALSO glancing hits are specifically written to not allow cover saves at all, while pens do, so its even more efficient against hull down vehicles.

God these vehicle damage changes are so genuinely fucking retarded, I don't understand what their logic behind it is.

Name of the weapon doesn't matter, only the type that it's given. Various neutron weapon get lobbed under the 'Las' in the current rules (regardless of whether they have "laser" in the name or not), but there's also some that don't. Similar to how stub weapons are now classified as 'Auto' weapons. It's all up to how the designers want to define them. Personally, I thought it was the neutrons that were doing the heavy lifting in neutron weapons. Lightning guns also use a laser as part of their operation, but get classified their own thing.

They're not a club, community, or friend and if fucking you in particular up the arse with an unlubed rusty clawhammer bumped their margins by half a percent they'd do it without even a second of hesitation - you owe them absolutely nothing. Hell just by playing there with 100% online-purchased or chinacast or poonted models you're giving them value in exchange for the space because you make their store look popular and vibrant and friendly which draws in the type of customers physical retail makes most of their money from these days: clueless relatives shopping for presents.

Objective Markers are markers in the Game that indicate important Objectives that your forces will need to Secure. In order to Secure an Objective, units you control will need to be within that Objective Marker's unique Control Radius. A Control Radius is defined by a Circle centered upon that Objective Marker with a Radius of 3 (Three [III]) Inches. A Circle is a closed planar curve every point of which is equidistant from a fixed point within the curve. The Focus Objective can be Controlled by your Units if they are within that Objective Marker's associated Control Radius, in which case that Objective Marker is said to be under your Control.

Power weapons (paragon blade can easily be represented by a normal power sword), special pistols, leader hat, etc.

Gear them up appropriately, paint em up so they are clearly a leader dude, and msybe some greenstuff work for extra leader trim etc, put em on a rock so theyre physically a little taller than your basic dudes, etc, etc.

>40-60 tacticals

Oh, so, bolters still prevent you from charging in 3.0? Then why make them 2 shots across their full range? No enticement for close range high risk high reward.
Inb4 "short range doesn't exist". The opponent doesn't have unlimited reactions. And if they Reposition (all 2 units), they won't be able to afford the more important Return Fire.

Also 40k had a rule for full range 2-shot bolters when marines were stationary for a while. Called it Bolt Discipline or something

Amerishartiburgerlardifat hands typed this post. I know in your mad world corporations are people too and you have no choice but to drive 500 miles to the local hellmall to play games in a store with lots of L-shaped grey cardboard, but in civilised countries our businesses sell us things and we socialise with human beings at places of our choosing.

Even so, Americans shouldn't be let off the hook, the only people keeping you enslaved to this mad mentality are yourselves. Find community space, rent a place yourself, form a club that *uses* a local store as a place to meet but isn't beholden to it and treat it as what it is - a business establishment that wants your custom - and structure your relationship with it accordingly, hell, arrange to play in a rotation at each other's homes aren't you always boasting about how you have gigantic suburban castles to live in? Again, retail outlets are not your *friend* you mental case, as evidenced by the countless people who complain about the way most "FLGS" now shun wargamers in favour of TCG whales *because they make more money from them*.

You're like a beaten wife crawling back to the feet of the man who struck you because you're too afraid to know what life could be without the certainty of his fists.
