>Thread Question:What's your favorite melee weapon?
>Sudden Death no longer means you win when you wipe your opponent's army
>You just get a pathetic 3VP and the winner is still decided by VP
This new version of Sudden Death is some CAACfag shit. What the fuck GW? This is bullshit. So when I kill everything my opponent has I only get as much VP as one fucking tactical squad gets for standing on an objective for one turn? Or wait no, even less because Line now gives bonus VP for objectives.
This combined with all the nerfs to dreadnoughts is gonna make my army unplayable. I think I'm just gonna quit and sell my army. GW is forcing people into taking stupid shit like tacticals, but I just wanna play elite units that do what is actually important: kill everything. Worst change of the whole edition.
>>95949425No, its to encourage objective based gameplay and army list building associated with it, rather than building army lists designed to leafblower your opponents army off the board.
>>95949453Don't engage poor bait anon
>>95949413 (OP)>TQ POWER FISTS ARE BEST
Honestly, does anyone feel a little forced to "fill out" any detachments that their army is missing? Like, my original plan was just two sicaran omegas to fill 1 HS slot, but now that I've got room for a full 4 tanks in 1 detachment I'm kind of looking at grabbing two sicaran venators to finish the set, might as well right?
>>95949453>rather than building army lists designed to leafblower your opponents army off the board.Ok first off it's called Maru Skara bitch, and my opponent can't achieve his objective if he's dead
>>95949413 (OP)>Thread QuestionCall me a basic bitch, but the thunder hammer still looks the best, feels the best and crushes traitors the best.
Though I'll also accept the solarite gauntlet as a worthy rival to the TH.

>>95949666Well now it's just a couple of remaining dudes standing around and watching helplessly as the opposing force undoes all their work, taunting them and ensuring their comrades died in vain... Actually, y'know what, that's right up my alley. Changed my mind, I'm fine with the new rule.
>>95949682Not any of those anons, but I'd be happy with "Figure out what you could get in the remaining turns and add that to your score."
So if you table an enemy with more points but don't have any line troops (or, I guess that's less a thing in 3.0, so scoring troops?) you're still fucked, but if you have the squads who could hold the objectives, you get the points.
>>95949711>Mission is to upload enemy fleet data critical to the war>Fight bloody battle into enemy front line >99% casualties >Manage to upload the data at the last minute >Slain to the man>Comms officer receives call from the ground>It's the enemy commander>"Hey yeah, uh I killed all your guys so actually I won so you have to delete the data.">While bridge laughs on speaker phone and hangs up abruptly >Data upload allows enemy fleet to be routed>Total space battle victory where thousands saved in the short term and millions more in the future>Heros slain remembered for eternity
Why the fuck does the siege breaker have phosphex bombs but not the moritat? Give the siege breaker upgraded melta bombs or some shit, but leave ge war crimes to the war crimes guys FFS
>>95949751>Kill all their guys>Unplug their computer because it's only at 60% progress >Data is corrupted and useless
>>95949797The point of the scored, past tense (this is important), VP is that the objective succeeded/completed. Eg if it were a data upload mission and that player won its because it the data upload was completed and the VP added to their score then and there.
>But I don't want a narrative, nor do I want to think about "tactics"; I just want to table my opponent as fast as possible with no regard to "objectives" or "victory points" to win by default!
>>95949797That would only make sense if it was end of game scoring. Clearly the partial data is of some value, so maybe you should get your ass back to the computer and keep uploading files to the cloud
>>95949790It is wierd Moritats don't, but Siege Breakers are "Break the Siege any% speed run" commanders and get access to the war crime armory.
>>95949790Siege breakers are responsible for the warcrimes section of the armoury, and have the authority to order its deployment.
Moritats are loner emo marines obsessed with killing.
>>95949820>nor do I want to think about "tactics"; I just want to table my opponent as fast as possiblethis is... this is literally a tactic. A very well used one throughout history, such as germany's blitzkrieg. Destroying your opponent's forces rapidly so that he can't achieve operational success is also the modus operandi of multiple legions by the time of the heresy. Perhaps tabling your opponent shouldn't be an automatic win but it shouldn't immediately end the game with only a 3 point bonus, because it encourages me to only cripple my opponent to being useless instead, which is effectively the same thing but narratively stupider.
>>95949937>Destroying your opponent's forces rapidly so that he can't achieve operational successLetting your opponent achieve objectives for 2 turns so he outscores you despite dying is not preventing them from achieving operational success
>>95949413 (OP)God, I love thunder warriors
>>95949970A battle lasts for 5 turns. If I am willing to put my scoring on the backfoot for 40% of the battle so that my opponent is unable to stop me from outscoring him during the remaining 60%, then yes, that is preventing them from achieving operational success. If I am in a scenario where by turn 3 I would unanimously win if the whole five turns played out, even if at the current moment I am down by 4 points, then the game should not immediately end with me only getting 3 more points. That is SILLY
>>95949937Great, too bad it wasn't fast enough and the enemy achieved their objective before you could wipe them out. Should have planned better.
I do understand that you could also go stand on objectives and farm VP without needing your opponent to be on the table. That said, if you reach the point where you could table your opponent and it causes you to lose, but if you leave them and can farm enough VP to win, you don't need to play out the game. You can just call it. It's the same net time save outcome as if you won by tabling. If your opponent wants to play it out and all you have to do is move then just move and pass til the game ends and you win.
I can't imagine a scenario where the last unit of your opponents army will outscore you if you can control multiple objectives for the remainder of the game. Two objectives without line should outscore one with line. If it's some whacky mission where the sole enemy line unit is on your home field for a bigger advantage then you got outplayed.
>>95950052No, it's objectively not preventing them from achieving operational success, because if you had they wouldn't have scored those points, the literal definition of operational success
Holy fuck you retards we've known how to deal with this for literally the past decade JUST KILL THE SCORING UNITS FIRST
>>95950095If I table my opponent in two turns because I brought a better army, I deserve to win. Not +3 VP.
>>95950114But you didn't bring the better army. They had units that were better able to score the objective, therefore they were the better army.
>>95950114Your opponent brought the better army and played a better game if they won while getting tabled. There's no way to spin it otherwise.
Let's talk from a table top game perspective. The devs said "we don't want people to bring hyper killy armies and win by tabling so both players can have list diversity and a better experience as this isn't actual war." That's a win for the experience.
>>95949790because moritats are going to be firing their pistols to better effect
>>95949604Geez they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel already and it doesn't even release for another month...
>>95950175They definitely blew their load too early. They don't have enough actual teasers to fill out the time. Or they had to start early because of the leaks and instead of rules and more every day they had to pass out the days.
>>95949405What the fuck is this? So snap shots regardless of rules or snap ships unless you have anti flyer targeting rules? You intercept when it's... At the edge of the board? But it's off the board? I'm not opposed to flying off the board same turn if it has a specific target, but this seems silly.
>>95950189>What the fuck is this?Oops meant
>>95949125, the flyer missions
>>95950189>They don't have enough actual teasers to fill out the time. One article about each legion's rules. That's 18 days right there.
>>95950199Flayers don't act like normal miniatures anymore, instead you roll to bring them from reserves to do 1 thing before they go out again. If they don't get shot to pieces that is.

>>95949413 (OP)
>>95950203The libers were not in the release list. It'd be pretty funny if they expect us to just play with the starter rules for another month.
Don't know why they would bother making them different otherwise
>>95949751I, too, remember the Eye of Terror Campaign.
>>95949405This seems thematically appropriate. The Heresy is filled with "victories" that had no surviving victors.
>>95949618Suddenly hazardous weapons don't seem so stupid.
Go balls to the wall turn one, get up 4 vp, intentionally die to a man before the opponent even gets a chance to score.
>>95950125>>95950142They don't have the better army. The only thing that makes a unit good is how much enemy units it can kill, and how fast it can kill them. Any fucking unit can stand around on a random point doing fuck all, there just shouldn't be rules that reward that. It just doesn't make sense.
But if I killed all your units that means I won, because you're dead. Anything that goes against that is just shit game design.
>>95950332Buddy, I think your brain cells are overworked. Give them both a chance to rest.
The most "realistic war game" I've played from GW is probably Necromunda, because the games tended to end with one side bottling out like losing armies in real battles do.
>>95949521>my opponent can't achieve his objective if he's dead[laughs in Bunker Hill]
>>95950332calm down Russia
>>95950223Thanks for posting that. I'm conflicted. On one hand it appears some force snap shots regardless of things like helitical targetting, which is good. But the strike mission doesn't seem worth it unless the flyer has a strike mission full ballistic skill rule. Id wager that things like the xiphon or the A-10 clone plane (Avenger?) will get a bonus to strike missions. Drop mission seems actually good. I used a Darkwing a lot in 1.0. If the Storm Eagle has assault ramp it might actually be good.
A little sad that these skirt the line of "no model needed, just a large oval base would work". But I mean rhinos and drop pods are glorified tokens too.
>>95950332At least try to pretend that you care about the setting of the battle
>>95950381>If the Storm Eagle has assault ramp it might actually be good. You can assault from all vehicles now, tho ignoring the downsides would be a lot better
>>95950381I mean, both drop pods and flyers were originally FW only stuff. Space marines used to be able just purchase deep strike, no drop pod model required
>>95950395Oh right, but still having the ramp would be great. Flyers may just be good-ish. Fire Raptor strafing runs will be the one to check.
>>95950401Dread pods were FW. Regular were mainline GW plastic, and still are. Though the new models don't have guns so I wonder if that will change.i want to use triple death storm pods one day.
>>95950349Blackshields did that too in 1.0. It makes sense that most armies don't do that considering they are meant to be a small slice of a battlefield composed of groups that are several times the size of them unlike in necro where what you see is what is fighting.
>>95950417No, drop pods were originally a FW resin model, they got a plastic in 5th edition, I don't know when the resin ones came out but I was around then the plastics did, I started with 5th
>>95949453Yup this allows games where one side has a mission to complete and the other side has to stop them.
Doesn't matter if you kill them all if they pull it off.
>This is the stuff novels are literally made of.
>>95950417>Fire Raptor strafing runs will be the one to check.idk about that. Getting intercepted with full BS does not sound good. And even glancing hits take away HP. I'm expecting flyers to be made of paper desu
>>95950455Yeah and no one likes black library novels
>>95950332If your killing units were so good why can't they score AND kill
>>95950475No one likes playing against dreadnought spam either
So get fucked
>>95950460I misread and missed "not" snap shots. It's a tough one. It seems that interceptor is when it placed so range will matter. I know Deredeos will likely always be in range. If I had to copium, on average a Fire Raptor will get one strafing run, take damage but survive, and die on the second if the deredeo is still alive. I just hope that free interceptor via Augery scanner is gone otherwise there's no point. Or an FAQ says a unit may only trigger one reaction regardless of freebies. It is interesting that base Interceptor is snap shots, so drop pods and deep strikes don't get wiped.

>>95951510Bolters and Disintegrators mate
>>95951451how small ? 2K points army small ? I mean they're basically planet bounds and they are done once they shot all their bullets.
Now that I think about it, they're probably state bound withing that planet.
>>95951510>weapon optionsYou mean aside from the same accessory sprue that every other mk of armour gets?
>>95951545Iโve never seen a marines sprue in my entire life.
>>95951451Hey you're me and I'm not biased and say it's based. Shiny red and proud, fuck them Primarchs
>>95951632You can see the mk3 and mk6 on the store.
They get a power sword, a fist/lightiningh claw and a plasma pistol.
That's all options you are getting with tacticals
I got a resin FW land raider proteus off of ebay like a million years ago, but I never did anything with it because it was assembled shittily. Is there a way I can dissolve the super glue so I can rebuild it with out destroying the resin?
>>95951696Dissolve, no. How bad is it? How much glue was used? You could freeze it but you risk making the resin brittle too.
>>95951632The base marines don't have much besides bolters + bayonets and the sergeant upgrade sprue, but they're made to be used with the weapon upgrade kits to get whatever special/heavy weapons you like
Those upgrade kits are pretty sweet too, you get 10 of each weapon in there so one box can go really far if you like variety. They're also armor Mk agnostic.
>>95951696If it's superglue then you can try using super glue debonder. Tho that's usually used to remove the superglue remains on surfaces. Idk how well that would work if it's big flat surfaces stuck together.
Maybe if you apply it repeatedly over several steps instead of all at once it could work
I just want to say i fucking HATE this new FP RS shit i absolutely fucking hate it there is nothing wrong with A S
NOBODY is gonna use it it will just be attacks and strength
>>95951803It's not about making the game better, it's about making the game different.
>>95951803It was always weird writing that ranged attacks and melee attacks are two separate things that have completely separate buff pipelines but were both called attacks
>>95951696A saw. Debonder is unlikely to work unless there's very little glue. Just cutting it apart with a hobby saw and filling the gaps afterwards is the ultimate solution, I've done this exact shit before and it sucks
>>95951716>>95951754The main issue is that the tracks don't line up (and the previous owner just globbed on texture paint to try and mask it) and there are some poorly applied ultramaries forge world bass etch plates on it (and I'm not too keen on playing ultramarines).
I went and looked at it, and, while in storage, most of the track ends got snapped off, so hopefully they're in the bottom of the box it was kept it. Although maybe it is a fool's errand to try and fix it when I could just buy a brand new plastic LR proteus with all the options for <$100.
>>95951835This is what I was worried about. It looks like it was soaked in glue.
>>95951865Oof, well time is money and at worst it could be terrain.
>>95951876I have heard second hand that if it's CA glue, you can freeze it and snap it apart. No idea if this would work with a resin tank though.
>>95951879>>95951894Yeah, I think at this point, I'm just going to write it off. I'll put it on the low priority back burner, and if I run across a local kid who has interest in it and more time than money, I'll pass it along.
Although going through my stuff, I came across a couple of 25th anniversary space marines NIB (see picrel). Would that make a decent Imperial Fist character? Power fist and plasma pistol in corvus armor.
>>95951696This will sound wrong but I swear it's right for bigger pieces. Heat breaks bonds better than the freezer.
A low heat in the oven will weaken the bonds of super glue and only takes a few minutes in there.
For smaller or thinner pieces you're going to break them no matter what you do when you try to break them apart. I have found the oven makes them soft and tears them and the freezer just makes them snap.
>>95952062That mini is dope. I lost mine, sad. It would be a great fist yes.
>>95950248It was a wondrous age, and we knew how good we had it.
>>95952062Wish there was torsos with that old style MkVI cabling. All I know are either fixed to the rest of the body and the one plastic torso front I've seen is from the ancient SW upgrade sprue with wolfy stuff on it.

My fluff is that they're both Traitors but they fucking hate each other so they try to kill each other on Istvaan under the guise of hunting Loyalists.

>>95949413 (OP)I'd like to compose a Siege of Terra image, in a similar fashion to picrel.
Besides the main novels, what else should be included? and where would the latest book (Echoes of Eternity) even the placed among this mini-series?
>>95952577Wow that came out awesome
>>95951423Looks weird without a dozer blade. Like the tracks protrude too far forward. Really nice paintjob though

>>95953405its so unnecessarily big . I hate this stupid thing.

I play world eaters, so my speeders can take chainaxes, which on top of 2 attack charge bonus makes them respectably killy against non melee units (i.e. a HSS squad or tac squad that doesn't have fat FNP).
Their improved toughness, especially the javelins means they're quite tough against just basic attacks as well.
Obviously its primarily a shooty unit, but it occured to me that in some cases, charging them into a filthy HSS squad (and probably eating their assault reaction) could be pretty useful.

>>95953588>Has anyone ever experimented with using land speeders for melee? It's an understated White Scar staple and great use for them if you keep them cheap, it helps clear the way for jetbike command squads too
>>95953604It's not to my taste, but I don't hate it, and get why they do it.
Its official art, they're trying to sell models so the paint jobs emphasises the physical model itself.
>>95953610>>95953611I might give it a go. A couple of las/MM javelins often needs to get fairly close to the enemy, then they are unlikely to expect the sudden 14 inch redeploy into a HSS's face. Even with overwatch, they're unlikely to outright destroy them, then once they're in melee they're essentially guaranteed to win... eventually.
A funny and annoying distraction, if nothing else.
>>95953637>then once they're in melee they're essentially guaranteed to win... eventually. It doesn't even matter as long as they aren't shooting anything important, that's part of what makes fast grav lists fun to play is because you suddenly get options for handling objectives/enemy support units that no one usually sees coming

I've always imagined the Siege Breaker should be the one who gets to equip a Heavy weapon, as to be able to be attached to a Heavy Support Squad and do more than just waive his hammer around. Didn't help Lascannons got natural Sunder for some reason, so there was nothing he could give them.
And also that the Armistos was the armoury guy, so he could unlock phosphex and rad. And that rites requiring a Siege Breaker could also accept an Armistos instead

Then it's revealed you were just a Death Company member in M41 and the chaplain assisting you was the one assigned to your company, now mourning the loss of another brother to the Black Rage as the rest of the BA forces push forwards in another random battle somewhere in the galaxy.

>>95954517>>95954356Daily reminder the current WS chart is extremely gay. They should have left a 1 WS diff as the offensive bonus only, and required a 2 WS diff for the defensive buff.
WS mismatch in 2.0, and soon to be 3.0 swings combat so grossly, and invalidates a huge number of units.
Mechanicum in particular are next to fucking useless in melee against standard marines even with their melee units, since funny WS3.

Some say that, if a single point of WS does not grant both bonuses, then WS4 terminators become able to counter WS5 terminators because it would result in a sort of mutually assured destruction.
But I think that is a good niche for otherwise basic Terminators to fulfill, whereas currently they're just outshone by WS5 termies on everything.

>>95954593Yeah this would be a million times better.
The termie argument is kinda dumb, because YES cheaper models should still be able to beat more expensive models, thats why points costs are a thing.
WS5 special termies/command squad is better per model, and likely have other benefits (special gear/rules, i.e. command squad has fearless and line), while the cheaper standard While WS4 termies are cheaper and not as strong, so NEED more bodies to win a fight (which also factors into transport options), where as right now they get kinda mogged and that's it.
>>95954820I can't write off all my mistakes as bad luck but this game my opponent had 5s flowing from his hand while I kept my affair with the number 2. Laserbeak had a bad turn 2 where it lost 4 shields in a single salvo (though it would also drop the shields of its target despite its 50% obscurity).

>>95954824My little knights failed an early charge by the smallest of margins, if they hadn't the game would have gone quite differently as this lone warhound caused considerable havoc. The mere threat of those melta incisors in a ferrox light maniple was too much to contemplate.
I wasn't disappointed by these little magerna, but knight lancers are the only knights I would consider really useful. Still for their first game these little guys made a good show, though they wouldn't survive.
>>95954829No, not the Y-shaped cabling, but the trident design with the box at the abdomen.
>>95954842This is where the drama happened. Stripes gave the warhound a good beating but maybe blew its load too early as it backed off and the Laniaskara titan stepped up to the plate. I thought I was being clever and had Stripes rip its arms off in the combat phase, but then the Impaler's smash attack did 2 critical hits to Stripes which sealed its fate. I pushed its reactor into the red but only got a mere S5 magazine detonation.
Funnily enough I forgot to do the effect of concussion from Stripes's power fists, we rolled if after and it would have pushed the other guy out of melee range, but since we rolled after the dramatic smash attacks I didn't want to deny my opponent the glory so we just wrote it off as a mistake. That's what I get for having Stripes fight another reaver.
>>95954626>30k musouFUND IT
>>95954856The melta warhound would snake around the building to threaten Laserbeak. It didn't punch through its remaining shields immediately but Bossman couldn't bring it down in one salvo despite bringing its full dakka to bear. I wanted to try out the laser blasters and they did some good damage but 50 points is way too much. If I'd take a cheaper option I could have gotten some upgrades (which probably wouldn't have helped either but I would have liked it more)
>>95954865Laserbeak had to box the warhound in so the knights could get into melee. The magerna would rip its reactor right out its ass but would cause a critical meltdown which killed a knight and damaged laserbeak further. Worse though Laserbeak was way outta position and exposed, but if it had advanced properly the warhound would have just come up behind it and melted it without contest.
>>95954874Laserface would lay Laserbeak low thanks to my opponent's excellent rolling and the long range of the graviton destructor, and the knights would be finished off by the other reaver. Turn 4 Bossman got to lay into chainsaw face with full dakka but came 1 pip short of finishing it off.
An excellent game. Small point games like this (1400) let you really appreciate how much impact a single unit or decision can have even if it irks you.

>>95956674the two worst things ever to happen to warhammer were stand on pie-plate objectives and 4 turn games. They are the two things that make every match identical and boring and not anything like a real battle.
The two of them negate most all real war strategy, such as defeat-in-detail, defense-in-depth, force concentration, guarding chokepoints, fabian/parthian warfare (kiting), securing high ground, counter-offensives, encirclement, enfilades, maneuver-warfare, penetration (and rear attack), refusing-the-flank, etc.
Most all warfare more simple than "move everything within shooting/stabbing range while swarming the pie-plate-objectives" is simply irrelevant with 4 turn games. There's not enough time to do a shred of real maneuver warfare as the game always ends before a space marine can travel any significant distance, and using any part of the battlefield other than near the pie plate objectives becomes pointless, making the small boards feel even smaller.
Sometimes it took 3 or 4 turns for a major redeployment during a 6-turn game, but that left a few turns to reap the rewards. Now, it ends before there's any reward and you're simply never allowed to focus on one flank as the other flank always has magical objective circles that need to be touched.
It's fine for casual 50 IQ beerhammer for the first 3 or 4 games, as you're already just learning your army so you don't need any depth to the game, but it really hampers the replayability for long-term players.
>>95957460Then make your own scenarios. Simple as.
>>95957479Every criticism in the universe can be countered with "Do it your own way elsewhere."

>>95957570My 20 man tactical squad killed 3 terminators with Overwatch last game. Having a 2+ armour save doesn't mean something is invulnerable to volume of fire.

1 flamer sets anything you need on fire

>>95957627It's not invulnerable, but a 1-in-6 chance to up the damage on an attack that will only go through 1-in-6 times isn't a huge buff, compared to a 1-in-6 chance to buff a hit that goes through 1-in-2 times.

>>95957561Well, non-veteran squads are supposed to operate alongside one another at all times, especially support squads with more specialized weapons than boltguns. So with flamer support squads for instance, you'd have your regular tactical squad suppressing the enemy while the tactical support squad flanks around to burn them, while the heavy support squad guys with missile launchers blow any vehicles and provide additional supporting firepower against infantry
>>95957561Yeah Guilliman fixed that actually in his book with mixed arms and small combat squads for flexibility
>>95955476There's a few asthetic options in the trim but otherwise no, they're the same.
>>95957561It's called formations anon...
That used to be a thing in the past
Not everything is your individualised modern mil bullshit
>>95957491Cry baby bitch. Donโt like the rules make your own. Youโre a faggot as well I see. Simple as.
>>95957839You just did what he siad you were doing
>>95957860Donโt care. If people want to bitch about the rules that some corpo pumps out then they can make their own or fix them. I donโt really fucking care. GW wonโt listen to you. Do what makes you happy. Simple as.
>>95957871But what if not being happy makes me happy?
>>95957561They learned from the best.
>>95957719Which he discarded with the new primaris marines going back to HH doctrine
>>95957930Everything from Gathering Storm onwards is not canon.
>>95957941Except it gets directly referenced and foreshadowed in HH novels published after 2017...so....
Is Legions Imperialis dead already?
>>95957561actually in todays warfare militaries are returning to uniform armaments across squads, really it only happened after WW2 to supplement the rate of fire of rifle armed squads but that isn't necessary anymore and specialisation isn't required in the post-drone world. For marines the bolter is sufficient for just about every task and if it isn't, it probably warrants a squad armed with special weapons.
>kitbashing an Exodus/Vigilator/Centurion
>the only helms I have with bionic eyes are eaither too big (CSM vehicle gunner) or mk7 (SM tank crew and a random DA upgrade head)
This sucks
>>95957975Legions also operated in such scale that several units operating together was more feasible. I'm sure in practice a TSS would probably spread around tacticals and operate more as part of their units, rather than each squad being completely separate. When the shit hits the fan, you're all in it together, no matter which squad you belong to.
>>95957871well, if you don't like people complaining about HH rules in hhg, why not make your own general where people can't complain?
>>95957975Going to go into more detail on this:
So in addition to what this anon is saying, real life militaries also have dedicated weapons squads such as machine gun and AT squads contained in dedicated weapons companies or weapon platoons. These squads augment regular line infantry companies. These squads usually consist of a number of teams: a Gunner who carries the weapon, and a gun team leader or loader or what have you who carries additional ammo for that weapon alongside the standard rifle.
With astartes, they don't need gun crews to operate their man-portable heavy weapons, even their missile launchers are magazine-fed. So they can just shove five to ten guys with missile launchers in a squad and tell them to go ham. Because they're space marines.
Granted, most standard line squads of today will also have organic AT capabilities in the form of a guy carrying an AT weapon in addition to his rifle, but tactical squad sergeants can carry meltabombs, and krak grenades are standard, so it checks out.
>>95957946Threadly reminder that BL isn't canon.
>>95957890Then youโll die bitter. Simple as.
>>95958012Never said I liked it didnโt like it. I offered alternatives. Simple as.
>>95958020>Granted, most standard line squads of today will also have organic AT capabilitiesThe only ones in warhammer with organic AT capabilities are Tyranids. Everyone else is using inorganic AT.
:^)
>>95957966>Question implies that it has been alive at some pointLol. Lmao, even.
>>95958045What does it count if a brain is operating the gun?
(Imagine I inserted a picture of the skull on a castellax darkfire lance here, I can't find any clear pictures of it online and I'm not home to take a picture of my own lol)
>>95958045What about bomb squigs?
Which legion is closest to the Mexican marines?
>>95958007Use the plastic mk4 bionic eye
>>95958116Those are just spicy pets.
>>95958139WE were full of mutts, WE are the mutt legion
>>95958139>Legion Armistos, colorized c.m32
>>95957930Yeah Primaris wank is not real LOL
>>95957460trying to make warhammer realistic is kinda dumb and is for fat retards who get pegged by their Italian wife.
>>95958139Imperial Fists, because Crimson Fists end up becoming the hispanic/latin chapter of space marines in 40k
>>95958139Probably Fists, because that's where Crimson Fists come from.
>>95956698>>95956928didnt he write the salamander books
>>95958169>>95958170Holy shit. The 1st ed poster boys are MEXICAN??? ARE THEY TRYING TO CLIMB OVER THE BORDER TO ULTRAMAR???
>>95958181yes. Alexis Polux got caught trying to cross the border into Ultramar by the ultramarines in an attempt to expand Dorn's meth business to Macragge. Guilliman would have had him deported, but then the shitskins (word bearers) attacked.
>>95958181>>95958191Fists aren't sending their best.
>>95958191>word bearers are the most evil traitor legion>they're also brown and middle-eastern codedWhat did GW mean by this??
>>95957502I've never understood high ground. Be up there and everyone can see and shoot you
>>95957563Everything needs to be fixed. But you also mentioned house rules yeee
>>95957622>Chainswords make no sense in a setting where disintegrator weapons also exist:(
I like Warhammer specifically because armour is so advanced it makes melee relevant. Just like old medieval up to early gun warfare.
>>95958360Most people cheat and give themselves an indestructible 5++ ruin cover save for being on top of a building even if the model is completely unobscured but no don't be silly of course the same doesn't apply outwards, no cover for you thanks to my elevated position
>>95957975Wait, don't squads have the heavy weapon guy? Like the guy with a machinegun, or with a missile launcher
>>95958164Bro is using the mk4 bionic eye
>>95958261That's just ADB's brownoid fetish.
GW have always had them as paler.

>>95958415He was for a while, people just forgot because he went low and stopped feeding the Twitter beast
>>95958424Huh, then he's smarter than I gave him credit for.
>>95958368House rules aren't truly a fix though. The books aren't getting republished with common house rules. Not everyone is going to use them. House rules are a work around.
>>95958406Colchis being modern day Georgia we are talking caucasians in appearance, but they probably only used the name to invoke a pagan superstitious culture.
>>95958023The parts of BL that I like are canon.

I sure hope nothing has a gay reroll saves vs templates rule this time. Not being able to kill terminators with 10 heavy flamers was gay as hell.
>>95958647do americans just not know spain is still a thing
>>95958647The Orks that attacked Rynn's World are your sudaca reps

>>95958709Hasn't been a thing since the Spanish American War
REMEMBER THE MAINE!
>>95958708With even Hatred no longer granting re-rolls I doubt re-rolling armour saves is still in.
If only leaker anon had decided to stop being a cunt and posted the unit (sub) types pages
>>95958708Heavy is probably -1RS for blasts and templates.
>>95949425I think this is meant to be bait but I actually agree with it. Players demanding coddling and rubberbanding mechanics was super toxic in Infinity and is here as well.
>>95949728The problem is they want to create a system that punishes people for trying to win the game too hard. Which always backfires. You will probably be able to make lists that score 4 points over your opponent round 1 and then immediately die, allowing you to force wins when you shouldn't.
>>95958778>You will probably be able to make lists that score 4 points over your opponent round 1 and then immediately dieYou'd have to take units that are capable of dying themselves, like overload, becuase otherwise your opponent just doesn't kill you. If you rolled up with a plasma TSS and 2600 points left empty then no one is going to play you.
>>95955008That's how it should be. Do mechanicum ever beat Astartes in the books? No. Mechanicum armies should not be getting wins against Astartes armies if the points are even. Astartes are the center of the setting, they should only be losing to Custodes or other Astartes.
>>95956726No, Legions Imperialis lasts 5 rounds in general.
>>95958791There will be cheese lists like in every edition, but sensible people will refuse to play against those. The community usually self-regulates things quite well for HH, like the cap on phospex mortars in HH 1.0 and the dreadnought limit in HH 2.0
>>95958791>If you rolled up with a plasma TSS and 2600 points left empty then no one is going to play you.Sounds like poor sportsmanship to refuse that game when GW specifically wrote the rules to allow it.

Would it be stupid to start making a Militia army? Do you think it'll be culled/severely reduced in 3.0?
>>95958825Malicious compliance /bad faith does not fly in the real world. You can tip your fedora akshully and make that claim but you would end up sulking in the back without an opponent.
>>95958839I would suggest waiting, but with militia being part of the Overseer's rules I'm hopeful
>>95958839No and no. This isn't 40k. I just wouldn't expect it day 1. Would be easy to port though, copy leadership value for mental stats. Up tech priests INT, etc. copy precedent from solar aux, but slightly worse.
>>95958839Well clearly you should just buy models you like and not care if you can play with them or not.
>>95958164Any /k/ommandos know exactly what that NVG setup is?
>>95958087Those have synthetic bioplastic brains, they aren't servitors.
>>95958872How do we know all the Consul types will still be there ?
>>95958872Overseer could just be for Solar Aux in 3.0
>>95958839Who knows. I'll still do it.
Working on my first vehicle kitbash.
Was 3d printing a Sicaran Arcus and the top of the chassis fell in on itself and I didn't want to waste it.
I took a bunch of brass piping, surgical tubing, and plasticard.
I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out, though obviously I have a lot of sanding to do.
>>95959077looks like something a techmarine cooked up out of some wreckage to absolutely blast the unlucky fucker to try pushing into his position in the final days of isstvan 3
>>95959077Yeah that's pretty good.
Are dragon-head backpacks too much for Heresy-era Alphas?
>>95959108That's awesome because my lore for it is that a techmarine strapped a minotaur cannon to a Sicaran and juiced it up for direct fire. I'm happy that's the vibe it gives off.
Once it's cleaned up I'm planning on putting some chains on it to emphasize how jury rigged it is
>>95959116No, but M37 pattern backpacks should be. Then again, FW used the old CSM packs as Anvillus packs and they have the same M37 style clean look to them, so go figure.
>>95958800Kiss my shiny metal ass.
>>95959116only on inductii
>yeah bro you did really well as a neophyte here man this ones on us, Hydra Dominatus and shit bro for real make Alpharius proud>>95959129link some chains up to two terminators pulling it like a late feudal cannon
Thoughts on picrel for Volkite? I'm going to paint it alpha Legion so I wanted something to contrast with the blue and I really liked the superheated metal look
>>95959162Yep, I'm gonna choom.
>>95959133>Anvilus was the main supplier of material to the Blood Angels through the Great Crusade>Blood Angels are never seen using Anvilus-pattern equipmentFucked up.
>>95959116Fuck no. Might steal that idea.
>>95959196All those blood angels died or went traitor, obviously
>>95959167>>95959174Sick I'll keep it then. I needed some choom to accompany my Fellblade
>>95959220fucking hell thats grand
>>95959129>to emphasize how jury rigged it isFor some reason I got the image in my head of a busted enemy Contemptor torso chained to the back of the tank with cables pulled from the power plant to power the thing. Maybe some lascannon power packs hooked in series for extra battery capacity.
>>95959116I've literally the old and current sorcerer backpacks on mine. Though I keep those confined to characters.
>>95959248Least sus XXth Legionary
>>95959212What about the Anvilus industrial enclave located on Baal? Did it just not produce Anvilus gear for some reason?
>>95959267Nah they produced boots
>>95959235I'm keeping this idea for my falchion...
Imagine a loyalist dread crucified ove the engine, pipes and power cables routed straight to the cannon.
Hell yeah
>>95949413 (OP)>TQI love power swords. You can't beat a classic.
>>95959306I don't know anon a power ploughshare sounds pretty sweet to me
>>95959196There could be a story there. Like, Baal was under siege through the whole HH. The traitors had control of the void. You could make up that arms shipments that tried to run the blockade were scuttled. Or maybe when civil war broke out on Anvillus proper, its off-world enclaves and delegations predominantly pledged to the traitor cause.
>>95952852>>95955226Something like this?
>>95957460I'm in the same boat.
I enjoy things that make the game more immersive and less 'gamey'.
Standing in the video game capture circle and winning because one unit has higher capture aura or whatever is very abstract and gay.
Similarly, forced short games encourages the players to just dogpile the objectives and abandon any positioning outside of that.
Some of the very best games I've ever played are the ones where the winner was only decided in turn 5-6. Also these tend to be the quickest turns since most shit is already dead/locked in combat/etc.
Most of these changes seem to just be going closer to modern 40k, which is indicative of the new players they want to attract. Saying 'just homebrew it away' is also a shitty answer since that means just commiting to only ever playing with a small group of friends.
>>95959263He's a Delegatus, so he's just a douche instead of sus.
>>95959077It looks good, Anon, but fuck's sake can someone convert that cool command-sicaran before my poor-drunk ass spends a bucket of dosh to do it?
>>95949626Uhhhh. Macca from the outer circle said the bigger hammer is woke.
>>95959476If GW weren't such creatively bankrupt PUSSIES they would produice a n image like this for the new terminators
