it's really a horrible business decision. Most websites you click the store's Horus Heresy section and it's 20 pages with every other item secretly being Titanicus trash for a dead game literally nobody ever played. It makes it simply unpleasant shopping for horus heresy at all. Between that and 70% of the unique things being resin kits which aren't sold by any actual good stores and out-of-stock on GW page anyway, I can see why the HH community is so dead. Someone trying to shop is just gonna get immediately turned off.

Are there any books or novels that tell stories of Word Bearers and Lorgar post reunion but before Monarchia? Stuff between Monarchia and Calth would be welcome too, but I'm mainly interested in learning more about their pre-chaos adventures.

wondering what to pick up for my Nightlords, currently only working with an Age of Darkness box, plus Sevatar and 15 Cunt in Car terminators.
Already planning on picking up some rhinos for tacticals, considering Terror and Night Raptor squads. Im thinking Terror squads with rotor cannons as i bet my whole asshole that they will get suppressive in 3.0.

Neat. I've thought about it with my world eaters. Most of the time I want to just go full melee rush for fun, but in a lot of missions that puts me in a very difficult spot in terms of objectives.

A few fat solar aux squads waddling about should do exactly what they're described in the fluff as doing - mopping things up behind the WE advance, and humping objectives while they crush skulls.

Its a shame because I am a big fan of the new model's posing. They really have a nice sense of motion and weight to them, but yeah, they're just giga huge. Especially for me since I mainly have old FW resin models and older plastic heresy models, they'd just be too out of place for me to try.

The worst part is I don’t think its intentional scale creep, obviously they’re made for 40k and not 30k and the benchmark for scale there is a primaris marine. What might look bulky and slightly taller next to a primaris is gonna mog the shit out 30k, doubly so for older kits. Converting them to 30k is also a huge PITA without a printer or 3rd party bit supplier, I had to get creative to get rid of the crux terminatus and the only reason i felt comfortable leaving the aquila is because it fits decently with thousand sons bird motifs

Giving it a search and assuming you're the anon with the darker blue AL around here, that's still a cool shade. Do you airbrush with this? Though I assume it's a bit opaque to consider in doing something like a metallic zenithal, what I tried of airbrushing contrasts in the past ended up with bits flaking off and the idea of using inks also requires me to have varnish.

On that note, I wonder if there's a nice reddish-blue metallic for an alternate AL palette, if not at least to do alternate infantry like Seekers with.

They did do stuff though. The Coronid Deeps, Beta Garmon, Paramar, Bodt, Siege of Cthonia; they're sprinkled around everywhere, that’s not even everything they were a part of. Maybe they weren’t waging illustrious or glorious campaigns but they were always in the fight and pitching in to some capacity, achieving small objectives that could help delay the traitors and waste their time, or liberating worlds that had been conquered by the traitor forces.

This is just part of the Heresy problem of being a sort of historical setting.

Lots of Legions have very limited official opposition and the Heresy wasn't a particularly long conflict.

So the only answer is to build your army to a particular theatre and turn a blind eye to the fact your opponent's army wasn't there.

Where are people seeing vehicles not being allowed to move into terrain? All I can find is that vehicles aren't allowed to move vertically or onto terrain to ascend to levels, i.e. move onto the upper floor in a ruin for example.

I want to start playing the Horus Heresy, but I'm not sure which legion I should run. I'm waffling between either White Scars (they look like they are fast, which would be fun, and I like that they were defenders of Terra) and the Emperor's Children (it would be fun to play an evil faction and I like how they wrecked Terra during the siege). I'm sitting on an unused Age of Darkness box and some extras (some FW jetbikes and a Sevrin Loth mini) and I will be buying the new starter box when it gets released. I also think I have accumulated enough stls to print just about any vanilla unit, too. Any advice?

The whole thing with vehicles and terrain is somewhat confusing, since there is still the section saying vehicles are affected by dangerous terrain and the earlier part of "Vehicles in the Movement Phase." I think the section mentioning terrain in "Moving Through Other Units" is either some sort of oversight or we're just missing a piece of the picture.

My Kratos already has glowing Volkite and imo glowing bits work best in extreme moderation.

5. If you split fire, your main gun sucks. So, don't ever do it – not really worth it. Just don't shoot with the out-of-sight gun

Yep that's how most of us do it. I mostly just put the parts for 3/4 marines on my plate and then I glue them all together. But there should be some full body model, there are just much rarer. I guess you could also just fuse the parts together in Lychee
