Here's what I don't get about warhammer people:

>you can't just play with paper minis, which look great if you stick them to card and give them textured or green card bases
>people who insist they can't or won't paint can't just do the respectable thing of priming their army a solid colour, putting a wash or two on it and just painting the base
Vs
>people who are really talented at painting, who make me look like a FOOL at this hobby but for some reason the idea of kitbashing something using External Parts to make it more like you want it is anathema
>equally if you just suggest ignoring the meta of any GW game and just play rules as written and house rule / coin flip any major roadbumps they shit and piss

I mean tbf you could benefit from more "Chinese" sprues out there but jeez

Also

>what if I brought my 20mm guys over in my tacklebox and we played Warhammer on the kitchen table?
>"that's not WarhammerTM anon careful they might hear you, we HAVE to use the official minis but we must NEVER paint them."

Wtf causes this phenomenon

Encouragement and mindwashing from GW mostly, that this is the only proper way to play;.
>Buy latest product.
>Play with latest product in the shop/showroom/tournament = you become a free advert for the product to other potential customers.
They don't want you using non GW parts or scratchbuilds because THEY DON'T SELL THEM.

What you do in the privacy of your own home is your own business, scratchbuild and proxy as you like, but most GW players don't get this - many have only ever played GW games and think this is the only correct way to play a game, so freak out when they see someone not playing by the rules they have been taught.

Other factors are Sunk Cost fallacy, mindless Brand Loyalty and GWs expoitation of those with poor reasoning and impulse control.

This phenomenon happens mostly in your head, because most people are super chill. And if, for some reason, your local group is full of retards, maybe consider finding different gaming friends.

The real magic starts when you use an AI tool like Meshy to make this picture into an actual STL file and then print it.

Its far from perfect, but there are plenty of tutorials available. I did pic related in less than 1 minute, without having used that tool ever before and without knowing shit about 3d modeling. Its rough for sure, but i could print it right now with autosupports.
To be viable, someone who knows what he is doing should go over the model and refine some areas etc, but i really think this is a super handy tool to get a rough base shape of what you want.

That impression probably stems from you being unfamiliar with 3d modeling.
