The problem, as you are becoming more aware of, is that playing those games means interacting with the fans of those things. As others have pointed out, it's all about what kind of group you curate for yourself, but the general fanbase for both of those games are pretty bad.

Well, no shit anon. You can meet some okay guys at a game store, but you're just as likely to get spergs. I think card games are likely to draw the biggest spergs of all as well. Since you seem like a normalfag my recommendation is to join a board game group, and from there test the waters to see who also plays table top RPGs or TCGs (you are guaranteed to find one).
