>>96102130 (OP)New stormcast or Lumineth, and dark mechanicus
My LGS is doing an uprising necromunda campaign in a cpl months. I'm torn between Corpse Grinders and Helot cults. I've been kitbashing mutants to play a sort of beastmen abhuman gang as CGC in the past. Helot cults seem flavorful and fun but I can't seem to crack a fun looking list that isn't just basic ganger spam. Any list recommendations?
I'm looking for Armies of Middle-earth, Matched Play Guide and Armies of The Hobbit (not scans) books for the current edition of MESBG. Anyone happens to have any of those?
>>96102241Venator had beastmen and Outcast had mutants.
>>96102130 (OP)Rumor I've heard for Kill Team is Deathwatch vs. Mimes, which I'm all in for.
Also, for those of you who have played the Succession campaign, specifically the first part that is detailed in the Cinderak Burning book, how necessary do you think it is to start with 2k credits (+ vehicle allowance) rather than the normal 1k? I know players can't hire new gangers for the 1st half of the campaign but I'm worried that wealth will get carried away by the end of it.
>>96100864>>96100798Nada, not out yet. Probably won't be until end of August.
What are the chances of GSC getting their own munda book in the future? I can see CGC and helots getting a shared one after the enforcers.
>>96103246I wouldn't hold my breath. GW has been removing cross game ranges and Malastealers are still "new" I doubt they'll just release another book for regular GSC.
>>96102470>they're going to take away Trading Post weapons from my Patrolmen in the middle of the campaignsuffering
>>96102241It’s really expensive, but giving an CGC Initiate a harpoon launcher is funny to see people shit themselves when a ganger or 2 get dragged into charge range.
People ignore all the goofy shit you can do with those infiltrate fuckers.
>>96102130 (OP)Guys, how retarded would I be for saying that I've only just now realized the Malstrain Bubble Bug is actually just another 'membaberry, this time for Tyranid Squigs?
>>96102130 (OP)Wtf disintegrators in m42? On some random noble guards? This anon remembers when inferno pistols were fucking exotic weapons that it was big thing that Dante got one! How much guns avainability jumps the shark? Like some kind of techcult boss maybe, but noble bodyguards?
>>96105200With just a decent rarity roll on the trading post and 145 credits you too can have an inferno pistol.
There’s enough esoteric xenos shit and warp fuckery going on in Necromunda that 2 disintegrator guns is barely a blip.
There are like 3-4 "Rumour Engine" pictures of some slim-fingered fucks handling vials and potions. I'd assume that's the Underworlds preview we'll get. The teaser pics have really stacked up on it.
>>96103691You can still use Kill Teams in 40K and Underworlds warbands in AoS, right? So that's not totally true.
Although cross-studio is more verboten than cross-game. I forget who makes Underworlds and made Warcry... the main studio?
>>96105200>he doesn't know who House Van Saar is>he doesn't know about their intact, only slightly malfunctioning STClmao
>>96103246Probably low. It wouldn't be their own book - if they did it, they'd release a Malstrain-focused book with a section that updated the regular GSC list, and they could do a similar thing with Helot Cults and Corpse Grinders.
>>96105200It's not "random," Helmawr is the planetary governor of one of the most prosperous and important worlds in the Imperium.
There will only be a GSC update if they have a kit ready to go. Same for Helots. Neither will get any attention if they stay using 40K kits.
CGC are likeliest to get something after Enforcers.
>>96105973From nuGW's loose seeping anus to your mouth for you to throw up into this thread thanks anon
>>96106149Go tend the livestock, Polishman
>>96104746See that's def a cool idea but I have no idea how I'll afford one during uprising. I did model one with a lascanon from a dominion campaign though
How many models is too many for a gang?
Honestly will anyone use these disintegrator models? They’re alliance rewards atm, might get changed in the new book but I doubt it. My LGS doesn’t even play with alliances
>>96106245Campaigns with dedicated Gamemasters/Arbiters or whatever you want to call it could utilize them as elite NPCs guarding something very very valuable on a battle map. Like hyper valuable loot or a key noble NPC the gangs want to kidnap. Alliances for player gangs are a pain in the ass though
>>96106244Scenarios decided how many guys you can use, so you have to check within your own group. On average RAW scenario use 6-9 guys, so you want your gang to have around 12-14 to account for injuries. Cawdor will use around 13-17 due to their rule giving them extra dudes to deploy.
>>96106245Like 90% of the resin models don't get used. A bunch of that CAN'T even be used when they're hirelings that don't show up automatically for games.
But the resin Necromunda models are also the best things GW makes, aesthetically and creatively.
>>96106149Eh, I've spent time in rural Mexico. The House gangs being like the cartels to where they have gear on par with the local military makes sense there.
>>96106692The "player gang" in the game is the top dog super gang. Because really if you want to play dingy stingy shit eater gang you can just simply remove all the good weapons you had. Look at some of the hire gun that was considered veteran or legend on Necromunda, they either used basic stuffs or just downright shit tier weapon.
Wanted to kitbash together a chem dealer for my gang when I came across the Kingdom Death pinup nurse in my pile of random kits. I don't want to use a straight up coomer model, but I think the head and the hands are probably salvageable - the pump would make a convincing syringe after a few cuts and adding a wire needle
The problem is I don't know that I have a suitably feminine body to put them on. The closest I have is probably this chaos cultist leader, who is GW's usual flavor of man-ish, and I think they'll clash.
Should I give up on the idea?
>>96106865KD stuffs are too big to play together with GW-scale. If you want a female chemist model used the Rejuvenat Adept from Elucidian Starstriders, for general alchemist model the BIophagus is best.
>>96106940>KD stuffs are too big to play together with GW-scaleThanks, it looked about right on the sprue but I wasn't sure.

So ive been using the underhells box to teach my friend how to play necromunda.
Planning soon to move to the full fledged campaign.
Is there any kind of adjustments needed, or can it be played mostly as is and its a pretty decent experience?
>>96106530I recently had a lovely game of Pinned Down from Ruins of Jardlan, where thanks to home turf my crew ended up being three hangers-on (Doc, Trader, and Chem dealer) and one ganger. At least the prophet showed up too.
>>96106865>>96107111>>96106940I dunno. I think that it works if you pick and chose parts right. I have some necro kitbashes with them too, but no pictures and that stuff isn't finished. Apologies for the shitty quality.
>>96111002My vamp has one arm from the Blood Knight kit, and the other from that underworlds kit. The Necromancers arms are both from Witch Elves. Though I wanted her to have a hatchet. The dregs are from Wrath of Kings.
I love Warcry, just decided to buy Heart Of Ghur to give me another terrain set and more teams since GW looked to have killed it.
Now there's mentions of Warcry in Warcomm articles, someone wearing a Warcry helmet in another.
Mentions in White Dwarf.
James decided to fuck with me right?
>>96102256No small number of us are looking for the new edition files.

hm, you know what? I just realized these rohan I was painting have a color scheme that complements this witch hunter I have and a green knight. Maybe I could make them into a mordheim warband. I remember that witch hunters are often respected in rural places like kislev, maybe this is a witch hunter that went to albion, and brought back a warband after expunging some dark heresy from thier lands... The witch hunter maybe seeing them more as a means to an ends but it fine playing along, thus only having a green feather, but his knight body gaurd maybe went full in, taking on their green color because unlike his liege, he very much respects the primitive warrior spirit of these peoples.
seems like a decent backstory
>>96112379fuck, forgot pic
>>96102130 (OP)I heard Underworlds lost its card system and moved onto something else. Is it still very fun, or would I be better off just going with Warcry for a more fantasy style specialist option?
>>96117110Underworlds still uses cards
Warcry is possibly being cancelled.
Personally I love Warcry and don't enjoy underworlds, I'm also lucky enough to have a group that plays Warcry weekly and runs monthly events so can get games in
>>96117123I'm willing to bet they'll re-release Mordheim soon and that's why GW "gave up" on Warcry. We'll probably see a refresh of that in a year or two.

You don't have any. Even if you did, the company now is completely different than it was then.
There were barely any Mordheim products, what were they supposed to sell?
Did they drop Necromunda because it wasn't making enough money? Why do you think they brought it back?

>>96129590The deep lore from their book is actually that the STC itself is fine, it's just giving the Van Saar intentionally broken designs to ensure their eternal reliance on it. It creates the problem (radiation sickness) via the guns and devices it hands them the blueprints for, then it offers them the solution (survival suits, life-sustaining bionics, anti-rad chems) so that they can't abandon it. The STC has a mind of its own and it's well-aware humanity is fucked in this timeline. It intentionally turned Van Saar into what it is now to serve as its personal guardians.
>>96122049You sound like a massive secondary. They dropped it because it reached the end of its life cycle, and was completed as a product.
When you've actually been in this life, you understand that GW drops... everything? They dropped Necromunda. They dropped Mordheim. They dropped Epic. They dropped Space Hulk. They dropped Apocalypse. They dropped motherfucking Warhammer Fantasy Battles.
And all of that shit came back. Some of it has come back and then been dropped again and will come back again.
That is just the nature of the games outside of 40K and (once) WHFB/ (now) AoS. And in current year 2025 it feels like they're trying to put HH in the perpetual games club (and TOW might follow). That way each studio would have an ongoing sci-fi+fantasy game.
Ultimately "sales" is a retarded way of looking at it, especially going back to the fuckin' 2000's with metal models and low plastic production. It's not like they had a bunch of planned Mordheim products that had to be dumpstered because of poor sales. Everything came out, the game sold, and the company moved on to other things.

This might be the right place to ask.. how is the ruined zone mortalis stuff from necromunda in terms of customisation and variety? How many boxes are needed to make a good looking table in your opinion?
>>96144266You're 3 months late, they had the 3x pack bundle for it, but it's gone now. For board I'd say 2 of Ruined Zone Mortalis and a bunch of normal ZM for your board (around 600-700$).
But honestly when it come to ZM this shit is simply too expensive, just 3d print this shit.
>>96125402>>96125425OP Here, well the first touch down was me that I played really harshly and gave an opening to their goblins, the second touch down was really fought he had luck and throw a goblin with a troll. The last one was luck even my friend told me it was just to try, tried a bomb throw to a golin near the TD line and sprinted and done a third one it happened right at the 16 turn. but yeah IG I played badly but now that I learned more things like the importance of a turn over over a drinking blood and how thrall are important.(they have the same stats of a human player so they're good)
>>96144300Without a printer I have to rely on Etsy sellers, and they are not really that much cheaper. The big box with 3x the stuff is still available on some websites here. I'm thinking about that box, and one of the not ruined stuff in addition?
>>961443951 of ruined set, 1 or 2 of wall and collum, and 1 stair and platform, if you had spare cash get the gang stronghold. That's a pretty big board. What suck about ZM set is that you got shit tons of columns but not much walls.
>>96144405Uhhh, this is only enough for a diorama or a section of a board.
It's perfectly fine to incorporate the ZM stuff with other stuff, and not make a full ZM board. But if you do want full or even majority ZM you need much more than 1 box of each.
1x box of ruined is fine, it should just be an accent to the real structure unless you very specifically wanna play in a completely ruined environment.
Minimum 3 boxes of walls and columns for a 3'x3' board or larger. Probably like 5 boxes for a 4'x4'.
The stairs and platforms are liable to spiral outta control, because a single box doesn't go very far, and in ZM you can find yourself relying on the plats for your vertical component (essential in Necromunda). I think this is the main reason why it's best to combine ZM with other stuff instead of going pure ZM. Although I do get the appeal of playing pure ZM on a claustrophobic board with no verticality.
>>96145631Did you not read what i was replying to? He's gonna buy the ruined set which is 3 of the ruined zone mortalis.
>>96145668I did misunderstand (if you meant "set" as "the big 3-pack").
I guess my only critique of that buying list is 1x stairs and platforms, then. That's too little, either don't get any and play ground-floor only, or get 3
Got into UW when it first came out, never touched it again. I kinda want to specialize in a single warband. But watching youtube videos all of them seem to be pretty similar. Not talking about inspire mechanics, I know each one has specific conditions, but is there any warband that doesn't give a fuck about taking objectives? I'm looking for something a bit different, any warband that plays not to win, but to make the oponent lose and maybe apply a bit of trolling in the meantime. Or unusual ways of winning
>>96149108>any warband that doesn't give a fuck about taking objectives? If you just want a game where your miniature beating the shit out of each other, play Warcry. Every play objectives to win, even Strike deck (literally run toward enemies and beat them)
>>96149332Also got into warcry at the same time back in the day. Game's dead, at least in my area, no tournaments or players and none of my friends play it. It's a shame, it looked promising
Shameless fluff question about BFG of all things, what are some fluffy justifications for IN on IN action that doesn't boil down to one of them being openly rebellious? In 40K and the skimish games I can see how you could have some conflicts as anything depicted in-game is relatively low resources and the kind fo stuff commanders could probably get away with a slap on the wrist. But a BFG game involves considerably more resources han anything you'd ever see with the infantry games, and I just don't see how two fleet commanders could expect to get away with fighting.
Besides, aren't Navy battlefleets much less insular than Guard regilents? Commanders can't even claim to be acting out of ignorance.
>>96149350So glad we have a great group here who do weekly games and monthly tournaments
>>96150045>>96150045There's a 40k story about a regiment of guardsmen that have been in an artillery battle against another regiment because of a mistake someone made and one of the commanders in charge knows this but doesn't say anything because he doesn't want to get in trouble.

>>96152519>Also what is going on with /tg/, you can't share PDF's anymore? The hack that took the site down a few weeks ago was using a vulnerability related to the pdfs, the site wasn't checking if what you were uploading was actually a pdf and they got some malicious files in iirc
So the temporary fix is to disable pdf uploading across the whole site. They've said it will be back eventually
>>96153529>They've said it will be back eventuallyso will poster counts and user ids on /tg/! two more weeks
>>96141492Based, it's in a pretty good place at the moment. Ok, new edition changes weren't all popular at release, pdfs haven't leaked yet, and the meta is now eagles. But we've found it's also good to play, both scenarios and matched, new theme lists are fun and online list builders let you do nearly everything without the books.
Pic related, Defenders of the Pelennor v Army of the White Hand at 300pts. Featuring a 'warrior of the dead' painted by my 3 year old. Legolas cleaned up in this game, pinpoint accuracy speshul rool is ridiculous

Ah shit what's that mean again? Kings Guard? I honestly can't remember but it's in one of the old rulebooks somewhere.

Hey friends, i'm going to get some blank plastic stands to try out Blood Bowl with some friends. What do you guys use for the images? I can't find drawn artwork of the players in the usual places, and it's lame to just use screenshots of the minis. I'm looking for skavens, they seemed cool
>>96155437No, it's not a profile all it does is expose samefags and namefags who go anon to separate their opinions from their trolling or vice versa.
Anyone in here have pdfs of the spike almanacs?

how does phobos fight blades of khaine?
I only felt like I could shoot them from a distance but they could just wait behind cover for me to come out to try to take objectives
Gonna start Mordheim with some mates, and I've never played before.
How does this look for a starting Marienburger list?

>>96159438Armour is a money trap for new warbands and new players. Even with heavy armour and shield, your armour save isn't going to do much - a single S4 strike with a 5gc axe will likely invalidate the entire 50gc heavy armour (and a S3 strike with one will cut the your 5+ to a 6+ anyway), and it's not like you'll likely roll successfully for a 5+ or 6+ often anyway.
Consider just a helmet, it's 4+ vs stunned is well worth the 10gc. Shields are also still useful because of how cheap they are, only 5gc for 6+ (even 2-handed weapon carriers get the 6+ on ranged attacks too) is fine, better than nothing. Body armours are a mid to late game investment, even better if you scavenge it for free later while exploring the ruins, to keep your now more experienced heroes and even henchmen alive.
Good job on taking the max heroes, those are your warbands lifeblood, and the double hammer/mace/club's for your Youngbloods, giving them concussion is a good way of improving their value (and why people tend to take helmets).
Mercenaries can't take slings iirc.
>>96159438Unless there are erratas I don't know about:
-Mercenaries don't have access to slings.
-Swordmen's reroll to hit when charging only applies to attacks with a regular sword so you are paying 10 points extra for a skill you aren't using.
-Armour isn't really worth the cost of two more warriors plus weapons. That said if you want them to have armour for theme/model reasons go for it.
>>96159655>>96159670Thanks anons. I was just going from new recruit, and didn't realise it was letting me pick stuff off the lists.
Does this look any better?
>>96154772I love your Pellenor army anon, and your kiddo did a great job as well.
I'm currently working on a Khazad-Dûm army flexible enough to go up to 1000 points. A few other guys at the local hobby store also got some MESBG armies, but the old-school dwarves seem to be usable for a lot of other skirmish to small army games.
I just wish that GW kept everything stocked more often. I got lucky that I ordered my army when only the rangers weren't available, but trying to get any friends or other hobbyists into this game is hard unless an army has good proxies, as most armies tend to have one of their main boxes out of stock for long periods of time.
I'm currently trying to collect some of the old dwarven heroes like old Dain, Balin and Múrin & Drár, mostly for aesthetic and proxy purposes. Got my hands on two old dwarven kings and I was surprised to learn that they still haven't been legacied by GW, as they aren't sold.
>>96159853That certainly should be fine to crack some heads.
Only thing that's maybe worth thinking about is the warband is 12 strong so will be taking rout tests after 3 are Out of Action. If you can scrape enough gold to get a 13th that will bring it up to needing 4 Out of Action.
Could be a coin toss though as having less equipment per fighter might leave them more likely to get taken out in the first place.
Really at this point most changes would probably be personal preference or theme based.
>>96155471Previous anon had you covered with a complete and more modern set but have some old school just incase.
>>96160041Don't seem to have the sheets from the first edition box saved unfortunately, these were all from White Dwarf.
>>96159871>I just wish that GW kept everything stocked more oftenIt's crazy because I had been following rangers for the longest time and never found them at local stores. Manage to get a few with the battle for osgiliath box, but some boxes are almost imposible to come by
>>96157999Danke you, friend
When are we expecting the new UW stuff? September/october?
>>96157878haven't played warmaster in a minute, I should try to get a game.
probably the only GW game they somehow never fucked up.
>>96157940Do you understand what samefagging is? Because id does not solve it. Even places with accounts have problems with samefagging
>>96160716>probably the only GW game they somehow never fucked up.Battlefleet Gothic also went un-fucked. It's a great game.
>>96160716Vanilla High Elves were pretty fucked up to be fair
>>96161692Necron fleets say what?
>>96161883>>96161967both of these are 100% accurate. BFG and WM are excellent rulesets, but their army balance is the same level of 'we did not playtest this at all' as everything from geedubs. that's not a new phenomenon.
that's why any gw game needs to be dead for at least 5 or 10 years before it's worth playing. gives the community a chance to sand the rough corners off.
My new LGS has a blood bowl leauge!
I made this 7s team a while ago but never got to use them. I'm so excited to finally put them on the table
I legitimately think Blood Bowl is the best tabletop game I've played.
It's just fun, and win, lose or draw it always puts a smile on my face.
Is underworlds any good? The models are top notch.
>>96167777It's a good game, but you should not really expect it to feel like Warhammer or other skirmish wargames. It's more like a deck building card game. The miniatures are pretty much just tokens.
>>96167777>Is underworlds any good?If you don't mind spending around 40-60$ on card + dice + board. And new deck cost almost as much as a warband.
>>96167714I've always been interested in BB, but never got into it. Is it viable if I like the models but have no idea about football and have never been interested in it?
>>96163527I'm not sure I remember enough to be totally confident in this but aren't a lot of the problems also only things that came up with add on factions, most of the core rules and original factions were fine or only open to the usual levels of WAAC dickery any rules set is going to have potential for.
>>96168068I don't know much about modern Blood Bowl I played 3rd and handbook editions but I presume this core aspect hasn't changed.
You don't need to know or care about sports at all, it's a risk management dice game with a violent fantasy sport theme painted over the top.
>>96167777Personally I don't like the game. But the minis are sweet
>>96167777Good game filler if your group is playing something else and you're waiting for your turn. We actually do that. While 2 of us play necromunda or whfb, the other 2 play underworlds and try a couple of warbands each
>>96168069nah high elves were a faction in the warmaster core book with all their broken bullshit in place. and they remained the best army for the entire time that gw was in direct control of the game.
>>96168068I find American football to be a completely retarded game but I love bloodbowl
>>96168068Don't think of it as football, it's a skirmish wargame that just has an aesthetic which mocks football.
>>96169840Thanks I'm not sure if I like Gumball or Blacksad more
