Don't Rest Your Head is kinda the opposite, you go without sleep for so long that the dreamworld and its nightmares bleed over into reality, and if you fall asleep you can't fight back.

The Reve Ouroboros takes place all within the dream of a slumbering dragon.

How long does a game of Everyone is John realistically last for? It seems like it would be pretty snappy if everyone has 7-10 willpower and you are using it to modify rolls/fight for control vs other voices.

Really interesting domino resolution system, you grab as many as you skill pool and try to connect them, if you do you succeed and if you don't you don't. If someone helps you they add extra pieces which could fuck you as much as help you.

It's rather obscure, but Reve: The Dream Ouroboros takes place in a world that is the collective dream of dragons.

I recently made a gift for my friend which was something of a solo rpg.

The premise is that my friends were gathering at a cabin innawoods and I told them I won't be coming.

Then I began writing a madman's diary, with borderline psychotic drawings. It starts with in the deep end of the pool
"IT CAME TO ME LAST NIGHT SCREAMING, WHY DOES IT SCREAM??" and continues with the guy being too afraid of opening his windows because light creates shadows that are not supposed to be there. It continues like this for a while, but then the big bad guy manifests one night and gives the man a riddle they must answer.

Now the riddle is seemingly mathematic, with numbers on a table with 2*7 dimensions. One number is missing. The instructions for the riddle state you must never look at the numbers 39 and 57 straight because something bad will happen (the two pages following the riddle are nothing but these numbers, a nice impossible task for the reader)

From here on the diary is mostly about the guy trying to solve the riddle and the demons urging him to do it. They take away his hearing from his right ear at some point as a threat to do even worse things if he won't make it. There is a deadline

Close to the end he seems to be on the verge of solving the riddle, but his answer is not correct. The demons are pissed. They say they will have his left hand.

Then the author realizes it wasn't a riddle but a system of measurement. There never was an answer. The demons are measuring him through the riddle somehow.

He becomes a cultist and cuts off his left hand. He is told that he must "wrap it like a gift, not like a punishment" and bring it to the cabin on the night my friends are resting there. He finishes that it feels right that the left hand is missing.

Ok, so that concludes the diary but the rpg preparations are not over. So I made this wooden box and painted it nice and horrible with cow blood. It looked like someone died on top of it. (Pic) Tbc

Inside the box there was a bloody print made with my left hand (pic). A nice detail imo. The last pages of the diary were also painted with bloody dripples because the guy had cut off his arm. Finally I proceeded with wrapping up the gift and writing my friends name in blood on it. The diary was added as a "card" on the box.

The delivery was what almost drove me insane. I waited until 3:30 am to start my drunken bicycle ride to the cabin. I was counting on my friends not being awake if I leave at that hour. It succeeded but i had to cycle through some god awful rain. I left the gift on place outside, safe from rain, where it gets immediately noticed.

What was in the box? A bag of nuts with a note "Go Nuts"

It's like that issue of metadata in webms leading to child porn. Rather than fixing the problem, they put a scrambling script to the metadata. You can't access meta-data as a regular user nor via browser-based utilities, so authorities are off gook moot's ass, but you still can unscramble it and access whatever was there in about 15 minutes of work. User experience decreased, problem left unsolved - the famous "task failed successfully".
