For those of us who can't be bothered the worldbuild, do you have a preference for any particular published setting? My first ever game was a 3.5e game set in Greyhawk because my DM at the time liked the setting, so I have an appreciation for it. Matter of fact, I'm preparing a table for a Greyhawk campaign now.

But I'm curious about your takes, which settings do you folks like?

I never really got into Greyhawk and Mystara, although I do like several Mystara adventures like Night's Black Terror

I'm playing in a 3.5e game that uses a third party setting that was publishwd locally (im Brazil, that is) back in 08.
These guys have been playing in this setting ever since, in the same campaing.
As far as I can tell the DM really loves the campaign as a backdrop, but he also grafts stuff from other settings, adventures, modules etc into the world.
It's pretty cool.

Greyhawk for classic, old-school modules.
Planescape for strange, surreal, otherwordly adventures.
Dark Sun for grimderp post-apoc survival fantasy.
Otherwise I make my own.
